  1. I am one week post-op. I was given a shot of something to relax me before being wheeled into OR. The worst part of recovery in hospital was the NG tube, they pulled that out on day 2 in hospital. The best part was the minimal pain. I was up and walking within hours of being in my room. Nurses and PCT were very helpful. My surgeon and his staff were awesome and answered all of my questions. I have no regrets.

Anyone else dealing with diarrhea? I'm not sure if it's from liquid diet or antibiotic or? the funny thing is they gave me a scrip for colace to counteract side effect of pain meds. I go back to the surgeon for follow up on Wednesday. Still having nausea, I'm tired of artificially sweet beverages, and the smell of chicken broth turns my stomach. I can start pureed foods soon, hopefully that will help.

4 weeks from today!!! i start my liquid diet in 2 weeks. im thinking about gradually easing into it this week and next 1 meal at a time so that by the time Nov. 4 rolls around it won't be so difficult. also beginning to wean myself off of coffee. i things to look forward to both before and after the 18th, brad paisley concert 10th row on the 15th, 2 hour massage on the 16th, keith urban concert in January to celebrate the new me, my first ride on my best friend's Harley next spring, as well as going horseback riding when i hit my 100 lb loss. these are my guideposts along the way to mark my progress and things to keep me motivated. my acupuncturist always says good health is a journey, not a destination. every journey has mile markers. what are yours??

    Guess I'm first..

I am hoping for an October date. I have all my pre-op orders to keep me busy until I return to see surgeon in September for final scheduling. Like you it seems like it's a long way off. But summer always seems to fly by, so hoping October will be here before we know it.

    Any Chicago sleevers

First visit with surgeon today. I'm in Chicago. I have all of the orders for pre op clearance and tests to take care of. That will keep me busy and hopefully time will pass quickly. I am aiming for a mid-October date! Everyone's words of wisdom here have been encouraging and helpful.
  11. I can't wait until I have a date. I met with surgeon. I have all of the pre-op testing orders to get busy with, including the 3 month diet. Then I come back and surgery will be scheduled about a month after that, so I'm shooting for mud-October!!
  12. I'm at my surgeon's office as well, can't wait to get things going and find out what is next!
  13. My first consultation with surgeon is tomorrow. He repaired a large hernia for me a year ago so he is already pretty familiar with me. We talked about the sleeve gastrectomy after my hernia surgery and now I am ready to go through with it. I started the 3 month medically supervised diet program June 7. Any words of wisdom? I have about 180 lbs I need to lose. Thank you and best of health to all!
