Congratulations everyone on your success. I finally hit wonder land earlier this month. I feel so much better. I just need to get in more excercise.

Hope you're feeling better. I had dr Elli no drains! My surgery was 5/20/14. I stayed in the hospital 2 days with plenty of gas (upper chest) but they said it was normal. At first I had a double room but the second day they moved me to a private room. The nurses were really nice. I couldn't have chosen a better place to have my surgery. Good luck on your recovery.

I am 2 weeks out today and can only eat no more than 3 tablespoons of anything!

Hi sleevers, I am on blended and puréed foods. I love it. Next Tuesday I began soft foods. Going for post op checkup tomorrow. I had a bad allergic reaction to the glue very itchy and red.

congratulation! Can't wait to get there. I don't understand why people even think it's any of there business how you lost it.I find that after losing 89 pounds, most people are smart and just say 'you look great' or something like that. I sometimes run into people that I don't know, but have seen me before surgery and actually ask if I had weight loss surgery. Maybe because it's more common these days they think that it's ok to ask? Still feel a little awkward when I don't really know them, lol.

thankyou for giving me the biggest laugh ever! Hilarious! All of my friends and family know about my surgery. It's a whole lot easier and less stressful than having to lie to them. But I see a lot of clients only 1-2 times/year, so they are shocked when they see me. Not a day has gone by over the last couple months that I don't get a comment about my weight loss. (Seriously...EVERY day) Depending on the person and/or situation, I may tell them I had surgery or if it's not appropriate I try to brush off their comments and change the subject. There are some, however, that keep pushing and pushing for answers. I've been asked if I've been sick or even if I have cancer. I'm just waiting to get the nerve up to blurt out I started doing meth to some of the nosier ones.

My sis is going through the same process as you and they made her go through the 6 months nut. Hopefully you won't have to.

Hi there. I am 3 weeks post-op today. I also did not tell anyone but my husband, kids and my sister about my WLS. So far I have lost 27 pounds, but I haven't really seen anyone yet. I have a family bridal shower on Saturday, so I'm wondering if anyone will notice anything yet. So far it just looks like I've lost a little weight, so nothing really significant yet, but I was wondering the same thing. When it is really noticeable and people start to ask, I am just going to say that I have been following a high Protein, low carb diet and exercising. That will not be a lie. I hope you are feeling well so far and do very well with this. So far I have been feeling great and I have been very happy with my decision to go through with this. Good luck!
Congratulations on your weight loss this far. I am down 10 lbs 7-days post op. I still get fatigued and heartburn, but everyday gets better. Haven't noticed any change in appearance or cloths yet but I know that day will come soon.

Great idea thanks for sharing. Dollar tree here I come!Dollar Store deals. I got a good amount of supplies for post op. 1 ounce cups (aka shot glasses). Thermometer. Stool softener. Baby spoons and forks. Pill box. Ice trays. Reusable mini containers with lids 2.3 oz. Love a deal and checking off my list. Woo hoo

My first week weight loss was only 5 pounds. I'm a little but disappointed! I'm not sure if this is due to the discrepancy in the scale at the hospital and here at home. Anyone else feeling discouraged?
Hey better to loose than gain! Let that be our motto lol. I hear as weeks go by you loose more weight weekly. Keep your head up it will fall off in time!

Thanks turbosleeve, I will try that!!!

Hi guys although i'm still in recovery mode (occasional gas pains, fatigue) I am loving my choice. Since surgery I am down 16lbs post op 7 days! My issue is still no bm. Only on full liquids is anyone else having this issue?

Thanks Mzdiva3, I have my first doctors appointment with Dr. Elli on June 6th.
He is a man if very little words, but in my surgery date he was so down to earth. At first after surgery they had me jn a room with a roommate. He had me moved to a huge private room. He must really have some clout around there to do that. My follow up appt is June5 wow 1 more day and we would have potentially met! Have you seen the nut yet? Where are you in your process?

I am one if those people that didn't tell many people that I had or was going to be having WLS surgery. I actually told everyone but my mom and kids that I was going on vacation. Today I am 7 days post op. Just wondering for all you veterans, if you kept your procedure a secret what were people's reaction when they actually noticed a vast amount of weight loss?

I am 6 days post op gastric sleeve patient and I had mine done at Uic with Dr Elli. I have nothing but good things to say about my care. The nursing staff was superb. Great choice for me!

Hi all, 5 days post op. Feeling very fatigued. I have very bad gas pains that shoot towards my chest. I can drink really well now but on small amounts. It was taking me day1 5 hours to drink 8 ounces of Water. Yesterday I almost finished in 1 hour. I have absolutely no appetite. I just drink to stay hydrated. Had 3 incisions 1 really itches. Not too much pain. I haven't had pain meds since Friday. I'll b so glad when I'm 1 month out hopefully by then I'll have some energy. Good luck guys. Can't wait to see some pics In a couple of months. I haven't weighed myself since the day of surgery -17lbs.

I'm glad to find this thread. I have been considering doing a liquid diet and wondered if this would be safe. I will definitely be doing a 3 day liquid diet within the nest week or so.
Down 72lbs, 70 more to go. Need a boost!
