So here's my story; name is Vicki I am 35 I live in beautiful Fort Myers, FL. Been heavy all of my life; I started out as a premie could literally fit in the palm of my Dad's hands as a baby and my Mother once told me that she had to feed me every 4 hours, fast foward a few years in 2nd grade had a 28" waist and it has just snowballed from there, when I was a teenager my Father told me that I could not get my Driver's License until I lost weight never did but still I somehow learned how to drive; at my heaviest I weighed in at 340 lbs which was in 2010, I was able to lose 20 lbs and maintain that by changing my diet when I would eat certain foods that was fried or had alot of grease or fat, 20-30 mins after eating I would be stuck in the bathroom and that is no way to live life. Mind you I was already on high BP meds, and diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and on meds for that, and years prior to that I was diagnosed with PCOS was just to scared to take BC to correct it's side effects.

A fellow collegue of mine had VSG in late 2011 and could not sing enough about its praises and he lost over 200 lbs and I saw how much it changed his life and he had new found abilities and I was so envious.

In late 2012 I had my mind made up to have VSG, and I got my ducks in a row financially, and I took a good look at myself and asked myself what is it that you truly want out of life other than a damned old cheeseburger, I soon discovered that I wanted to go scuba diving, horseback riding, go to amusement parks and fit in the rides or walk the park and not be winded, fit into attractive clothing and buy it anywhere, and most importantly I want to be a mother some day, mine always told me that if you truly want to know what God's love is all about be a Mother and you will understand.

In Feb 2013 I started the process for VSG, when I first weighed in I was 306 lbs, met with the NUT incorporated the protein shakes had them for breakfast ( I was never one to have breakfast) starting drinking water and was slowly ending my long term relationship with Coca Cola don't get me wrong I had a fierce love affair with Coke but I am so glad that I broke the chains. My weight went up a little but I was mourning food since it had become as close as a BFF, it was always there when I thought that my world was crashing down around me or I was bored out of my mind, and the NUT told me she had expected this.

Had VSG on May 22; and my life has gotten so much better granted I was sore when I got home from the procedure itself and I had hernia repair as well, with in 24 hrs of coming home I did not have to take my Metformin ER I did consult with my surgeon's office and my PCP, was worried if I got to low I would be flopping around like a fish out water and I was just to sore for that, and currently I keep an eye on my numbers and they have been good ever since. My husband reported to me that my loud obnoxious snoring has almost stopped, I am able to enjoy spices again and not worry about them coming back up or having acid reflux, just this past weekend I went to Walmart and bought a pair of jeans can't tell you the last time I was able to buy jeans out of Walmart, mind you this has taken place in 3 weeks.

I feel as if I have been given a new lease on life and the sky is the limit, this is one of the best gifts that you can give yourself
