    Day 2 Pre-Op Diet

Hi, Unfortunately, I"m sorry, but this is typical. Your body has possibly lost a lot of items in the diet that is causing the problem.

    Exercising Post-Op /

I had started building up before. I knew beforehand the more healthy I was, the easier surgery and recovery would be. I did small stuff, and did a 10K 3 weeks and 1 day after surgery. Slow but I finished. At 3 weeks and 5 days I was cleared. I went swimming that day. I was in a competition at the pool, "Olympic" competition. I had a blast doing all the group exercise classes, etc. You will love it. My races went faster too.

    Herbs and Spices

Have you gone to Williams Sonoma or a Fresh Market or Whole Foods? Those places normally have fresh herbs and many times recipes to go with them. Williams Sonoma has different sauces, salts, etc. that you can also try to spice up your food. Whole Foods has several items not normally carried elsewhere, and there are items you can try on the salad and hot bars.

Has any one ever tried straining or sifting the powder to see if it gets thinner?

    Complications....so broken and sadden

I am glad for everyone here that at least a few things are starting to look better & turn around at least a small amount. I've got my own set of complications and I am happy that people hopefully get a break. It really sucks. LOL. Sorry but it does.

    Surgeons in North Carolina?

The coast close to Va or SC?
  11. YYYYYEEEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!! Fabulous and awesome! That's great to hear. I'm glad you got something.
  12. Hmmm. I would want to see an EGD, maybe a barium swallow. Go from there. Also there are types of PPI's. Did you try just one or both?
  13. Ooops ... um ... sorry. I swam masters, competitively, so I use some of the lingo without thinking. You do work in the pool but you cross train more so than other sports. The weights, machines, cardio, etc. all that is referred to as dry land work. It helps to develop the muscles of the body, especially your core muscles. For instance, you would have a period where you ran up/down stairs, hopped, jumped, etc. and then did things with the rope or the arms machine. You would do sets in the pool (speed work, distance work, work with the "toys"). You could then either do nothing or go back out and do some of the other. Push ups, sit ups, crunches, obliques, the whole deal.
  14. You don't have one nearby? Even when the pool is closed, the rec centers nearby are open. Have you done dryland work? Even lightly? You'd be able to just have the resistance now. Depending on how well you swim and what your stroke is, long course or short. Its short course until late spring/summer next year.
  15. Yes yes yes. Water water water. I could live in the water. Swimming is a good friend. Not only is it a good overall workout but the cardio works everything. It will also help not being so hard on the knees with the weight.
  16. He's nailed someone else. This person has a disaster of a GI tract and he operated. She's having to go out of town because everyone else wont touch her - meaning they're afraid to because they know. Guys we need to really OUT doctors like this and the PATIENTS who support these docs. NO ONE deserves this.
  17. Garden of Life is good. I've done it before. I think my only question is finding if there is good medical research for what a person is saying. Does it jibe also with known established processes? How/where we absorb different items in the intestinal track is somewhat set out but not all of it. If things don't follow logically with that, that is where you want to question. I was in groups years ago. People were taken by hocus pocus "treatments". The more you learn that is scientific based, medical based, the less doctors or any one else can take advantage of you. When someone does try to stiff you, you can call them out.
  18. THanks guys for mentioning this. I know one brand they had at WF, it was pricey also. They were wanting 2 a day. I want to know if my levels are low or if I am having signs/symptoms of low of that Vitamin. I'd rather target it because you can get problems from too much of a vitamin. I find that by fine tuning the food, I do pretty well. At least here are more options and I'll share them around.

    Sauces to try...

@@Trayjay33 I'm not trying to pump anything up but Williams Sonoma does give free "seminars" that are like an hour and those give you ideas. You can taste a number of things also. Not trying to move any one off, but there are also FB groups for different cuisines, and you can always use those. I've also gotten on some of the blogs and they give me ideas. That way you are not stuck for ideas and can flavor according to your tastes and pouch/sleeve, your wallet, etc.
  20. So so wonderful to see everyone getting out there and giving exercising a shot! Keep on posting gang!

@VSGAnn2014 shouldn't we? Shouldn't we savor food more? Why the same old boring thing?

    Sauces to try...

@@Trayjay33, just so you know, here is how you work the demi glace (I know about the price). Take a tablespoon of the item and put it on a tray. You should get about 30 of them. Then on the cookie sheet/tray, freeze them and put them in a bag. Draw one out as you need one. That way you are talking it is much cheaper. You can try it with more things.
