Music to our ears!! Glad to know that people are on the mend or that they know there are places they can come where people can extend a hand to them and help. -
Stomach stent to straighten angle
swimbikerun replied to Krispiekreme's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@Ava324 did they give you any reason for that? I sort of like to know these things because if it is a freak occurance, that is one thing, but if you hear of several of it, it might be an issue. I do believe I've read somewhere (so do not quote me on this, don't know if it is research or one of boards) that there is a sewing technique that can be done to help stop kinks. -
I'm glad that it isn't on your. However ... I hope also that you do it for you. {{apologies to any one - religion comment}} I believe each person is made in the image of God, that He died for each person whether or not they accept that or not, and the fact He thought they were worth it, means their worth it to others. Although I have to admit, some days people like Charlie Manson give me pause for thought. hee hee

Not just that, but those of us with issues didn't get treated like jerks. I've had out and out hostility, banning, blocking, being followed, etc. Basically told to shut up so people would get surgery, don't scare them off. Alex has never done that. We're allowed to take honest looks at what happens and try to share wisdom learned so that others don't get what we did. I think that's a mature way to look at things, honest also. Not a lot of drama here either.

Can I just send hugs and pats on the back, that I hope things get better soon. Congratulations for having the courage to take steps to try and alleviate the problem.

We can hit everyone on the list here and see who will meet up for lunch.

Well what about 2 meet ups and we can flash pix of them together? LOL. Or maybe farther out plan one in Richmond? I think that is a 2 hour drive for me, and probably should be for NoVA. Would we think about a meeting for the NOVA crowd and then the Willamsburg or Richmond crowd to Hampton Roads. PS If they're stationed down here, I am a native born Ptowner, lived there and in Chesapeake all my life. If I can help let me know. Although I do warn you - we're Coast Guard. LOL.

Things a Vegetarian should know before getting the sleeve?

I envy you - and I'm a NMA Academy member. -
@ThreeCrows Why don't we? After the holiday weekend? Next weekend - the 6th? Should we message people? Maybe a spot mid way between here and Williamsburg or do we want to see if the Richmond people want to meet - in Williamsburg maybe?

I am DONE with Dr Trivedi's office! Anyone gone to Ellis Bariatric Center in Schenectady?
swimbikerun replied to Kate M's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
@@Kate M Thank you for your honest appraisal and giving us enough information so we know where the problems lie at. That's helpful to know. Having had people ban/block me rather than looking at records or being able to rebut I had a bad problem, it was shut me up so 'people will get the surgery'. Other people have suffered because no one stands up to them. Time that that stopped and people know what offices do so that we have great experiences and those ones who don't, fix the business. Its about us, not money or ego or profit margins. Our lives. Our lives. -
eleven weeks post op need help eating
swimbikerun replied to Bigdog56's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
@@SugarFreeMe "If you're working out that much, I can see where you'd need the calories. If you don't get enough of them your body will go into starvation mode and quit burning anything." Actually right after surgery, I went into "starvation mode" and my body burned everything. I did win the Olympic swim championship and made sure the top guy knew that women aren't 2nd class citizens. In or out of the pool. Eventually my own organs started getting eaten. So ... after a 5 day chez hospital stay and 5-6 weeks on TPN, I would sort of disagree that your body will quit burning everything. Mine sure burned everything including the kitchen sink. If it is strictly calories, they would need more of a gel for runners. If it is Protein also, that's another story. I add protein in my drinks now. I don't think it is bleeding doing any good with all the other weird stuff I've got going on, but I'm giving it a shot. -

Folks Who Have Had Complications
swimbikerun replied to Pegsinthewoods's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@phantompouch Might be an idea to post out in a NY or regular forum. I'm not sure everyone will see it here. -
At the moment no, it was waiting for all the results to come back. I do have a short list of possibilities after reviewing the research/trusted info and I'll discuss it with the PCP in Jan. Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I will take a look at these. I have time before I "present" to the PCP.

Activity tracker accuracy - clip on vs wristband
swimbikerun replied to Kindle's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Kindle, just wanted to say congrats and it is WONDERFUL to see that someone really digs into finding the best for them. Congrats and the best of luck. I'm sure you will do well with an excellent work ethic. -
Smart ideas Kindle. I do have one question - what about the calcium and Iron in the multi? See I have high copper. Copper is already in everything so I'll just be making a problem worse if I take a multi.

There has been at least one item in the records questioning whether or not sleeves need the same, and also that different people have different requirements/needs for specific vitamins that doctors don't address.

I could tolerate fresh raw foods better than anything. The issue might be that I made doggone sure they were soft and well chewed.

Congratulations!

Thank you WL Warrior. I'm going to see if I can't take a look at that book.

Keeping you in my prayers. I can feel for you, being this sick. Lets see how it goes and maybe this will be over and you can enjoy things again. -
RJ's couldn't have said it better. Part of the journey, part of what they should find out about us before the surgery, is if we have the courage to admit missing the mark now and then, and to have the stamina and strength to get back up or find help to get us back up. Courage, fellow sister in the journey.

WTG and hope it keeps returning to you. Thanks for coming and giving back.
