swimbikerun replied to Hope Assassin's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had gastroparesis for years before the surgery. I suspect that is a function of that more so than anything. -

I couldn't handle eating much of anything for a long time. When I could, that's when it appeared. -
Mexico: Dr. Ramos Kelly Botched Surgery - LaurasVSG Tube
swimbikerun replied to MVK's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
As someone who has had to deal with a problem surgeon, I am so sorry. I didn't have the experience you did but at least I understand what it is like to have a surgeon who ruins things. -

100 miles in 100 days fitness challenge
swimbikerun replied to alcn1derlnd's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Since I can't remember, and just wrote down the official swim list: ending 9/24 4.5 hours ending 10/1 4.5 hours ending 10/8 7.5 hours SCM meet in less than a month, afterwards is a back to back Sat/Sun SCY LCM meet. I only did an hour today as I was sick early. -
Vitamin and Calcium Research for VSG
swimbikerun replied to WalkOnWaking's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The problem is, it depends. Reason why I say that is I remember reading an article indicating after 2 years the intestines do compensate. Now *specifically* what is meant for each vitamin/mineral, remains to be seen and we are all individual. -

Mine has got me really bad. I can feel for you. -
Get the levels tested. Go for every 6 months, and then see what it is like after 3 years out. Until this year, I always had Vit A, E, some of the B's tested. I have known issues, those are the ones I keep on top of, but ones that have stayed consistently well within the normal range I don't have checked. I have several other GI issues that require the bloodwork and sometimes infusions, along with others I have certain vitamin shots, etc.

Constant nausea after gastric sleeve

The 8 mg on the tongue pill? I don't wait, I take it immediately. I also have shots at times before the IV's. Phenergan, but it makes me sleepy. -

I have zofran that you put on your tongue. Courtesy of a heme/onc, but any one can prescribe. -

Had a meet, so basically started this week back into swimming. I'm about 3/4 of a mile almost every day now. -
I wasn't tired on TPN after I got out of the hospital. I was a bit worn the first few days but went back to work after that. I had a backpack and had it in there, so it was odd with the backpack but no one really figured out the line going under was into the arm. It may be the issue of what nutrients you are getting. Are you getting blood pulled 2x a week?

swimbikerun replied to alcn1derlnd's topic in Fitness & Exercise
That's great! That's 40 laps in a 50 SCY. IM. I love fly and IM. They don't always love me, but I love them and mid distance. -
100 miles in 100 days fitness challenge
swimbikerun replied to alcn1derlnd's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Depends. Reason why I say that is it depends on what your 100, 200, and 400 times are. You can not flip turn and have bad technique and turtle and it take 1 1/2 min to do a 50 SCY lap. You can do some fly and no matter what you do, that's a good work out. Swimming has a lot more variability than running does. -
100 miles in 100 days fitness challenge
swimbikerun replied to alcn1derlnd's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Maybe we can have something for the swimmers? I can swim a mile but yes it is going to take less than an hour. I can 13-14 laps in 20 min, depending on what you want me to swim. I would have a problem starting it because I have a meet next Saturday so no mile every day for me right now. I'm doing more sprint stuff, will back to normal mid distance after that. I also would have an issue with a few things because I swim competitively and do meets. -
