How is everyone doing 3-5 years out?
swimbikerun replied to FishingNurse's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
@Oregondaisy When do you think that is going to bite her? I can gain weight on 4 bananas a day. (Love my naners!) -
Biggest surprise/regrets after surgery?
swimbikerun replied to SeahawksGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Quest4TheNewMe I'm sorry. I understand what you mean. American culture nowadays is so much TMI, so much everything out there, that it makes it hard for people to simply want to get on with their lives. -

Can I get a hug and maybe some guidance?
swimbikerun replied to ilikecake2much's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@@ilikecake2much I think the issue is whether or not you do your homework on the decision. I always advocate the surgery, even though the surgeon was/is a bigger issue than the problems from the surgery. I can deal with those, its just how he and the admin acted/treated me. -

Reversal for gastric sleeve?
swimbikerun replied to Gladys62's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@Gladys62 I am relieved on that. The past memories I had with some "experiences" with my surgeon, I go into prayer/rub rabbits feet/cross fingers when I hear of people having problems. I've seen some interesting things go and it bothers me to know people are not treated well. I'm glad when they find those who have done good. -
Ours did but once you look at the "whole picture" then you see its pretty much about money. Bariatric practices are 40-45% profit.

Not answering the question but just wanted to wish you the best of luck! May your success be all that you imagined.

The more fit I get, the worse my skin looks?
swimbikerun replied to LumpySpacePrincess's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I think that muscle and skin are 2 different things. I'm not sure who, how or where the statement that if we built up muscle it would help the skin. Skin isn't like muscle, they are different types of cells. -
From what I understand, they don't teach cursive in many schools. Maybe they teach kids or kids learn to type and have autocorrect. That might explain some of the issues?
-
I think its easier to give up on sizes, just make a rough approximation. Even among the same fitters, different styles, shapes, etc. Annoying.

Reversal for gastric sleeve?
swimbikerun replied to Gladys62's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same problem with a doctor. Pompous doesn't begin to go there and being labelled when I'm looking for someone to help calm the new day new issue, it was just ridiculous. We can't change over here in this area. I'm hoping things are getting better for you. I actually didn't have as much problem until I started eating. It seemed like the connection between the brain and food/stomach/hunger was cut along with the stomach. I have no idea, I could look at food and it would be like looking at a chair. Thinking about food, the brain just like ... had no clue. If I tried to advance beyond a certain measure it was pain, so I ate little and only a few foods. I got harped on so badly, I'm associating all the nagging and fussing by the doctor (everyone else was like hey, fix her pain on eating, she'll be good). I can certainly understand how you feel. -

Surgeon. His office staff (a few of them). Complications were one thing, but they turned out to be the bigger thorn. -
