Yes, I'm a sleever from Va. Beach. My surgery was on Dec. 30th and I have my second follow up tomorrow. I had a rough time 3 weeks after surgery. Had an upper respiratory infection in addition to getting dehydrated, but I pulled through. This is my 6wks and I'm so much better. Can't wait to see my weight loss amount when I check in tomorrow. You'll be ok the Weight Loss Center is the best, in my opinion.

I have a cold too. Just don't dehydrated like I did. Nothing tasted right not even water. I'm still struggling to get the fluids in. Take care.

  6. Down in the dumps today. Feel a cold coming on and can't keep anything down...any suggestions? this is my 4th week of surgery.

  7. Before my surgery, I was a water drinker, I had no problem drinking 8 or more glasses of water a day. Now that I've had my gastric sleeve surgery, I can't seem to tolerate water. I get this nasty taste and sometime nauseated. Any suggestions.

That's encouraging; hope it's the same for me. People say that water has no taste have not had gastric surgery...LOL

Crystal Light helps if I freeze it and make it slushy, so that's what I primarily do. I just hope this feeling will eventually go away cause I don't like. That's my only downer from having the surgery.

  9. Going on 7 weeks post op and my son brought home cheesecake today that he had made with his "big brother" during their outing. I was struggling with not being able to have any, but found support and I'm feeling better. Anyone have a hard time around your "old favorites"?

I understand about the M & M's. I was about to go to the vending machine at work when a friend called to see how I was doing since I was back at work. I told her she saved me from giving to a bag of M & M's. Thank God for a support system.

I went through the surgery just a month ago and I had similiar feelings. I had regrets at first. But now the only regret is letting myself get to the point of having to have the surgery, even though I lost weight before many times. Now after a month I do feel like I've been remade. I feel so good about myself and know I'm in this for the long haul now. This is a process and we will get through it. Good luck.
