  1. Hello, I was banded on Feb 4th, 2008. I have not eaten for about a week. Sipping broth, was able to do a little cream soup. Hot tea works best for me. Mostly Hot drinks, Soups ect... I cannot eat even yogurt or oatmeal yet. I tried a scrambled egg this morning, but no go... My surgery went well, but I woke up with that gas pain in my shoulder and a great deal of nausia. I am down about 6 pounds since the surgery, was hoping to make it to the 180 somethings today, but I am stuck at 192.4 it seems... Not sure why, perhaps I am not taking in enough to shed these pounds... My husband and I are going to purchase a treadmill today and I will begin walking as long as I can stand it today. I am not sure if I am expecting too much or what. Going to call the doc today to make the post op appointment, see what I can do to get this moving along... I cannot eat really, and no hunger at all which I am so grateful for. I can make it most of the day without a pain pill now, so I feel pretty good about that. Had to take one last night as the oatmeal I tried hurt me alot and I made it real soupy, but not going down... I am curious does your body go into like shock and won't turn loose of those pounds? Like I feel like I eat nothing for days and should be down at least a couple and it appeared I gained like .4 pound perhaps I am checking too often? Steadfast & Working hard- Michelle
  2. :rolleyes2:Hello Everyone, I received word today that my surgery was approved. I will be going to the doctor next week hopefully, then I am tenativley scheduled for surgery on Feb 1st... Looking forward to being part of the Feb 08 Bandsters... Blessings, Michelle
  3. HI, I saw your message and am curious. You said your approval was within 2 days. That is awesome. Dec 12th will be my last weight loss and nutricienist appointment, then they submit my approval. Since all this started my doctor put me on blood pressure meds as well as it was consistantly high. Aetna told me that I need a 4 month plan, plus I have been fitghting this for many years now, and my doctor help support that. So I am hopeful I will get my approval finally. How long after your approval came through did you go in for your surgery, and how are you doing now?
  4. Hi There, Congrat's on your banding. I am in my 3rd month of insurance qualification. One more month to go and I should have a surgery date. How did you process go, were you self pay or insurance. What did they make you do to prep for surgery? Thanks, Michelle
  5. Hello Everyone, I have my EKG, Phsycholgical eval, blood work, and chest x-ray all tomorrow. I am trying to get my insurance approval in a hurry, and frankily I am pretty dissapointed after reading many of the quotes about insurance approval issues. Makes me want to go self-pay. It seems so absurd to pay over $500.00 a month in health insurance premiums to have to go through so much for an approval. My Dr. is Dr. Benavidez... I don't even get to meet him until all these tests are done...seems sort of strange to also pick a doctor for your surgery that you don't even know if you can get yet... Although I hear he is the leading Dr. in the DFW area...and of course they have their processes to go through... Has anyone been successful lately in getting their insurance to approve the surgery? Thanks and blessings kmefaith
