  7. Pet Peeve on FB-people who lurk and tell other people what you post who aren't on FB what you post, they don't like, they don't comment, they just flap their lips and lurk on people. Really get a life!!!

    Questions about GERD

I never had reflux until I had my band. I take Nexium daily and won't eat anything after 8:00 p.m. This helps me. I can still drink milk and water in the evening, but nothing to eat. I tried all the over counter meds, and they don't seem to work as well, but to some it is worth a try?

    Potty-Training Boys???

ok-I had three boys and one girl-plus I use to do Daycare-this is what I did. boys are a different creature. But for all of them I would get little items they wanted. Kept a calendar with stickers on the back of the toilet, everytime they used the potty they got a little sticker on the calendar-if they were dry all day they got a star, after so many stars (when it was daycare 5 days)-they got their prize, plus they were closer to getting the deed done! Good luck, my honeys are now 12,9,7! So times may changed, I had better success with daycare kids of course then mmy own kids, but it did work evetually. I also kept cheerios on the back of the toilet and would put them in for targets? Of course that is only for boys!

    Slippage - Need Feedback

Hang in there! I have been there and had it corrected - kept my band on!!! And am doing great since I had it fixed. Now I can't wait for an adjustment, so I start losing again!!!! Just trying to hit the exercise hard to see how much I can get off without an adjustment. Important part is I feel much better. Mine started in Sept, and I didn't have it fixed until 1/9/06-You can do this! Hang in! Stay tough and don't worry about weight lost right now, work on getting to March and fixing the probelm! Good Luck!

    Slippage - Need Feedback

OMG! It sounds like exactly what I went through. I lived on MAshed potaotes, creamed soups and ice cream shakes to get any down. I wish you the best, but I can also tell you I almost gave up on the band out of fustration that this happened. Then I did some reasearch and glad I got to keep it. I feel so much better. I read that the stomach prolapse happens to about 11% of banders, and I had two upper GI done and the radiologist said it looked fine. Also read most radiologist don't know what they are looking for as the band is still too new in the States and only your surgeon would know what they are looking for. I learned my lesson through suffering before I finally tagged my surgeon down to take a look. I hope you can stick it out until March-I sympathize with you as it is very tough to choose what to have each day and what decide to rear and ugly head and decide not to stay down that day. Good Luck!!!!

    REvised surgery

Well I go in Monday for a revision on my band. They are calling it a stomach prolapse. So in other words my band slipped-Right? I just hope once they get in there they don't find anything to cause them to take it completely out. I have been vomiting for a few months now and the surgeon hasn't been in any hurry to do anything about it. He completely emptied the band hoping that would correct things-NOT! It has been so bad I sometimes hope they will take it out, but then again have loved the weight it has helped me get off. I know if I would have it off I would gain it all back because I could eat all the things I have been craving and can't eat with the band as it makes me sick-in one bite! So I will keep you posted on what the outcome is-I guess it is out patient surgery! (drive by surgery I call it)

    REvised surgery

Well I am back to work and back to eating again. Oh what a difference. I seen my Doc on Tuesday and everything was good. He started me back on regular food. I actually had a piece of toast with reduced fat peanut butter for breakfast yesterday-It was heaven. Couldn't eat it all-but it has been over a year since I have had bread. This morning I had about 1/4 cup of Total with milk! I can eat again and it stays put, I almost forgot what that was like! bonus was I lost 10# from surgery to post op check!:clap2:

    Slippage - Need Feedback

I had mine fixed on 1/9/06-Oh what a relief! I was throwing up and had awful heartburn! I couldn't keep anything down unless is was mashed potatoes, or creamed soup ( both high calories) no weight loss! what a difference having it fixed. I am back to work for the first time today, and had a small lettuce salad and cottage cheese and it all stayed put! Oh Joy!!!:hungry: Don't wait to long if you can. My surgeon used my same band and somehow sutured the to stomachs together on the top of the side it slipped to prevent it from happening again. And this he was told to do by the inventor of the inamed brand band. So hopefully it doesn't happen again. I was his first one he had to revised. I don't know how many he has done. Good luck!

    REvised surgery

Well I survived a 3 hour revision surgery and feel like my inners may come out-but I haven't had heartburn or burping everything up. Time will heal-my worst fear was to lose the band toatlly and I didn't do that, so I'm happy once I feel better that is. Small sips and pain medication are my friends right now!

    Unfill

Well I am finally biting the bullet and having my fill taken out for a few weeks. I have done nothing but PB and Burb for the better part of a week. I called my doc and he wants to take the fill out and let things rest for awhile. I have mixed feeling about it as I thought I was doing really good losing, even though slow and don't want to stop. But I have been unable to eat anything unless it is mush for about 2 weeks and it stinks making different meals then my family. We have always modified things a bit, but this has been what they eat I can't absolutley not tolerate. I know it is only for a few weeks, but I am afraid to gain the weight back now!
  23. laraestokes

    Unfill

I don't quite understand the prolapse either. Been doing some research on the net? He made it sound like a portion of my stomach has slipped up into the band? I told him that is how it has looked at the last couple of upper GI they have done on me at our local hos. and He said he doesnt get to actually see those, just a report and maybe the radiologist doesn't have enough knowledge on the band to know what the prolapse looks like. So he apologized for not looking at it under fluro sooner. I love my band-when it works-It's the heartburn I could live without. My husband has been a slow loser with his band and hopefully this fill will get him caught up. Time will tell all for both of us.
