If you can believe it, walking is one of the best things to lose weight, and it's easy. I do a lot of walking. After speaking to my doctor, health nut wife, several friend, two seasoned personal trainer and researched it online, I learned that keeping your heart rate lower (versus running which is hard on your joints and back) is what burns the fat best. I also like walking in different neighborhoods. It's amazing what you see when you are strolling by versus driving. If you have trails in your area I would strongly recommend those. And please get good shoes, they make a big difference. I would recommend going to a local, small running shop where someone can watch you walk and take a good look at your foot to get a good fit (makes all the difference). Walking has brought me into hiking as I like nature. Winter might be a different story for you than me, I live in southern California, so weather is usually great. I also have a heart rate monitor to keep track on my progress, love it.

You may just need an energy boost. Tried eating more nutrient dense food, natural foods, stuff that is not processed. It made a big difference for me. I am always wanting to get up and go now, I do lots of walking and starting to hike now and I'm and old man. If you eat right and take good supplements, you will always wanting to be doing something, you'll be dancing around darling. Go to your local healthfood store and speak to a nutritionist. A lot of it won't taste great at first, but you start to look and feel great, and exercising...it's a snow ball effect.

It's very much a "Just Do It" thing for me too. I don't look forward to it, I don't like it when I'm there, I don't like the extra laundry, I don't like losing an hour out of every day, but I still go 5 days a week. Every Week. No exceptions.
I doubt I'll ever like going to the gym, but I DO like what it's doing for me. 91 pounds down, off my BP meds, blood sugar back into normal ranges, energy is up and my clothes sizes keep on getting smaller. That's why I keep going.

I'm a 66 year old who did a 5 k walk for the first time in April. Water aerobic exercise 3 times a week... Golf twice a week. Still taking a cart because I hit so many times for 9 holes. Will walk another 5 k in color run in Lansing MI in July. I hated exercise!! Haha

Since the kids are out of school for summer and I don't want to pay $4 per hour per kid ($36 per day/4 times a week) in daycare, I've been using my home gym in my garage. I have a treadmill and weights. I like to keep my workout routine short and sweet. I run for 20 mins every morning, 7 days a week. Every other day I lift weights but it's not the super heavy weights. Lifting heavy seems to stall my weight loss and I figured once I get to goal I can worry about building muscle. My morning run has my heart rate up to 160 bpm. I mentally can't handle more than 20 mins on the treadmill because I become extremely bored and it feels like a chore. I do not plan to lengthen the time but I will eventually add on more speed to the 20 mins of cardio. Once the kids are back in school, I will start spin class again but gotta save money this summer.

After 4 weeks of eating on average 1200 cals and over 100g Protein, and GAINING 6 pounds, I threw in the towel on IIFYM eating. Apparently, it doesn't matter what the folk I eat, I don't lose weight unless I'm starving myself and as much as I am desperate to lose the weight I know that at this point in the game it isn't healthy to put myself on a 600 calorie diet, especially not in this environment. When I get home I am going to get all of my thyroid levels tested. Maybe if that gets sorted out it will at least remove some of these totally unfair roadblocks. And please, no lectures on how taking thyroid medication won't make me lose weight. I'm aware. Just looking to level the playing field.

I feel ya. Maybe your body was stuck at that weight prior to surgery and is confused as to why it wants to lose more. My problem is sleep, cant find the time to get any. And when I do I get insomnia. This sucks, Im really considering the liquid diet just to see if the scales will move more down than like a yo yo.

I agree with Fiddleman on what works, works, do it. My wife is terrified of everything our family eats and I understand why. The foods I ate as a kid growing up are much different than what is offered today, or should I say shoved in ones face today. My wife, and yes, I will mention her name in just about every post as it was her idea for me to take a very active step (surgery) to lose the weight I lost. And I love her for that. She is my resident health nut. I could never take the diet pill fat burners you suggested. She has me scared of them. I told her she should start her own health blog. When you get older, it's tough to lose the weight, especially if you don't have the "will" to do it totally natural. It seems like I took the "easy" way of doing it, the surgery. And I want to be clear, I don't regret the surgery one bit. The surgery did not give me the energy I have now, the herbs did and the superfood powder did. I don't eat particularly health on my own. And from what my wife says, it's hard to get ALL the nutrients you need from the foods on display to us today. She says I couldn't eat enough spinach to equal the amount of nutrients in one tablespoon of superfood powder. She must be right because I never felt this good on spinach. The Chinese Herbs are the one I don't understand one bit. I also don't understand why more people aren't aware of these alternative methods. I'm a curious person, and this has struck my curiosity in a profound way. I just still don't understand why I feel so great after feeling so miserable after so many years. Where has this stuff been all my life.

I was overweight for a long time, I had the surgery which went great at first but after about 3 month the weight loss started to slow down. I haven't been a very energetic person for a long time regardless, and that is my explanation for gaining the weight over my lifetime. The herbs and superfood powder were "force fed" to me by my wife, it was not something I openly accepted. After taking them for a few days I started losing weight much more rapidly and I even wonder if that was all I needed in the first place. I'm happy I did the surgery as the entire journey has led me to a healthier way of living, I'm more active as a result of the surgery and the herbs, it just worked for me. What I took wasn't designed for weight loss and I was taken back by how well my body responded to the herbs. This is all very new to me. Thank you.
