  1. You should try a natural sleep aid. That's what I use. Works great. I use to go to bed with a full belly and sleep great. Those days are over now. I had the same issue. My stuff works really great, not morning hang over. It has L-theanine in it and something else. Otherwise I would be using the Advil PM or nyquil...which makes me feel terrible the next day.

I cant get myself motivated to exersise

You may just need an energy boost. Tried eating more nutrient dense food, natural foods, stuff that is not processed. It made a big difference for me. I am always wanting to get up and go now, I do lots of walking and starting to hike now and I'm and old man. If you eat right and take good supplements, you will always wanting to be doing something, you'll be dancing around darling. Go to your local healthfood store and speak to a nutritionist. A lot of it won't taste great at first, but you start to look and feel great, and exercising...it's a snow ball effect.

    Daily workout.

If you can believe it, walking is one of the best things to lose weight, and it's easy. I do a lot of walking. After speaking to my doctor, health nut wife, several friend, two seasoned personal trainer and researched it online, I learned that keeping your heart rate lower (versus running which is hard on your joints and back) is what burns the fat best. I also like walking in different neighborhoods. It's amazing what you see when you are strolling by versus driving. If you have trails in your area I would strongly recommend those. And please get good shoes, they make a big difference. I would recommend going to a local, small running shop where someone can watch you walk and take a good look at your foot to get a good fit (makes all the difference). Walking has brought me into hiking as I like nature. Winter might be a different story for you than me, I live in southern California, so weather is usually great. I also have a heart rate monitor to keep track on my progress, love it.
  5. Most of that stuff does not taste good on its own. You've been warned. But its worth it to me. And I have got used to it. It's all in the name of health right.
  6. I will have to get my stats up soon. I like looking at everybody's weight loss progress since the surgery. I'm certain you will like to see mine too.
  7. Ok. Here is what I have been taking with regards to Chinese Herbs and Superfoods, powders, supplements...etc. There is too much to write down, so I am just going to tell you the product names and you can look at them yourself. Some of the stuff she gets from a licensed herbalist. I will list the product and then the company and where she purchased the products. 1. Maca Powder - Navitas Naturals - Local Health food store. 2. Natural Calm - Natural Vitality - Local Health food store. 3. Warrior Blend Raw Protien (Vanilla) - Sunwarrior - Local Health food store. 4. Total Nutrition - Immortal Herbs - www.immortalherbs.com (its a superfood powder) 5. Immortal Longevity - Immortal Herbs - www.immortalherbs.com 6. Gynostema - Local Herbalist. 7. A blend of herbal mushroom Cordyceps, Chaga, Ganoderma, and Reishi - Local Herbalist. Keep in mind I am not a Dr. or nutritionist nor is my wife. She just wants to keep me alive as long as possible and I love her for that. This regimen has changed my life as much as the surgery. I feel much younger and my skin has changed dramatically, I have less aches and pains (which is certainly part of having less weight on my joints). My wife says a lot of this helps reduce inflammation inside my body, and that will help me live longer. I take a herbal sleep aid from time to time, I will have to ask her the name of that, can't find it in the house right now. She has researched this stuff to no end, so I know it's good. The superfood powder, longevity herb mix, mushrooms, and Natural Calm are ones she says are super important. I do eat ice cream (homemade) a lot more than I should. I am pretty good with everything else I eat, but I do cheat and I'm o.k. with that. We are very determined in eating Non-gmo foods and organic. Some of this is expensive, but I eat a lot less so that helps. Does anybody else use any of these. I would like to know if you have had any of the same experiences with these products and that it's not just me.
  8. And to add, I agree, eating less and better foods is a win-win.
  9. The foods and supplements they offer today are just amazing, some of them. I like the idea of natural unprocessed foods, so I personally stay away from certain bars and supplements. I am also into the free-range, grass fed, beef. I don't think I can ever remember having a better burger (sorry vegetarians). I don't have a problem with eating meat, so long as it is harvested/raised humanly. I am also a strong supporter of hunting (which I don't personally do) for food, humanly. The paleo diet is just great which it seems I am inadvertently doing. I don't see how you could go wrong on that. I know the Dukan diet discusses Ketones, which sounds interesting for reseting your metabolism. In fact, that is exactly what it's suppose to do. I just can't get around eating the foods they tell you to eat, all the time. Does anybody have any other thought's on "resetting" your metabolism? I am mostly interested in chinese herbs? Brands? Specific herbs and/or blends of herbs?
  10. I am going to get you the information this evening. I know it sounds ridiculous that I don't know what I'm eating. But again, my wife takes very good care of me...I'm spoiled. I promise tonight I will post it all. Ms. Health Nut (my wife) does not disappoint. I keep telling her she should take it up as a profession.
  11. Fiddleman, thank you for that. That must have taken a minute to put together. Very interesting though. I am going to get mine together tonight and post it.
  12. I agree with you Fiddleman, a lot of others might not though. A lot of those fat burners are very hard on your body, that would be my only issue. When I get a chance, hopefully today, I will post what I'm taking. I might also add that I can never sleep when I take any stimulants of any sort, including coffee. Fiddleman, what do you do for diet?/supplements?/Pills?/food?, just curious, you don't have to answer.
  13. sorry laura-ven, it was just a reference Fiddleman made, "Others even may use fat burners to help the process."
  14. Laura-ven, I will have to check the cupboard tomorrow morning and write down the list of ingredients for the superfood, she gives me several of the herbs also, I will ask her a bit more about what does what and get more information for you. I want to be very clear that I am NOT qualified to give any medical advice, I know very little about them. This is just what works for me and that entailed my wife spending her lifetime searching for the healthiest possible lifestyle...which I think she is crazy for doing. But she still looks amazing and no plastic surgery, so who am I to criticize.
  15. I agree with Fiddleman on what works, works, do it. My wife is terrified of everything our family eats and I understand why. The foods I ate as a kid growing up are much different than what is offered today, or should I say shoved in ones face today. My wife, and yes, I will mention her name in just about every post as it was her idea for me to take a very active step (surgery) to lose the weight I lost. And I love her for that. She is my resident health nut. I could never take the diet pill fat burners you suggested. She has me scared of them. I told her she should start her own health blog. When you get older, it's tough to lose the weight, especially if you don't have the "will" to do it totally natural. It seems like I took the "easy" way of doing it, the surgery. And I want to be clear, I don't regret the surgery one bit. The surgery did not give me the energy I have now, the herbs did and the superfood powder did. I don't eat particularly health on my own. And from what my wife says, it's hard to get ALL the nutrients you need from the foods on display to us today. She says I couldn't eat enough spinach to equal the amount of nutrients in one tablespoon of superfood powder. She must be right because I never felt this good on spinach. The Chinese Herbs are the one I don't understand one bit. I also don't understand why more people aren't aware of these alternative methods. I'm a curious person, and this has struck my curiosity in a profound way. I just still don't understand why I feel so great after feeling so miserable after so many years. Where has this stuff been all my life.
  16. I was overweight for a long time, I had the surgery which went great at first but after about 3 month the weight loss started to slow down. I haven't been a very energetic person for a long time regardless, and that is my explanation for gaining the weight over my lifetime. The herbs and superfood powder were "force fed" to me by my wife, it was not something I openly accepted. After taking them for a few days I started losing weight much more rapidly and I even wonder if that was all I needed in the first place. I'm happy I did the surgery as the entire journey has led me to a healthier way of living, I'm more active as a result of the surgery and the herbs, it just worked for me. What I took wasn't designed for weight loss and I was taken back by how well my body responded to the herbs. This is all very new to me. Thank you.
  17. Hello all. I wanted to drop my two cents in on this conversation of weight loss, healthy style. I have been trying to lose weight for a lot longer than I care to mention. My wife eats twigs and berries so to speak (she eats incredibly healthy). She turned me on to chinese medicinal herbs and super foods. I lost a LOT of weight and I have even more energy. I'ven been on the herbs and superfood powder for 4 months now. Life changing is all I can say. Has anybody had the same experience?
