  1. I was sleeved on July 17th..stayed in the hospital 4 days and have been doing well ever since. Meeting my goals for liquids has been difficult but I'm getting my Protein in. I'm taking Protein Shots (drinkable) which have 45g of protein mixed in whatever I'm drinking and sipping away. Also sprinkling Protein Powder on EVERYTHING, Jello, yogurt, cottage cheese, everything. I'm on liquids for another week, honestly dying to chew food, but staying strong... Down 24lbs since surgery 12 days ago...loving my sleeve ????

  2. I had to see the surgeon at day 6 of my Pre-op liquid diet. He knocks on the door and poked his head in and asked if it was safe for him to come in. I said "Yes' date=' but on days 1-3 of this liquid diet I wanted you dead". He laughed and then my husband piped up and said, "Mister she's not joking".

I am now at day 9 of my 14 days and it is going well. I keep telling myself I can do this and know that I can make it the remaining days until Surgery on July 17th.[/quote']

    Hi,

I have surgery on the 17th as well.. It's so true, days 1-3 I was kinda evil lol... I don't see my dr until day of surgery, so he safe..haha

  3. I am new to this forum but I am scheduled for surgery on July 17th. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. However' date=' the excitement outweighs the nervousness. So looking forward to a healthier me![/quote']

I'm the 17th as well!!! Not nervous at all, just want to get it done already.. :)

  4. I started my 2 week pre op diet yesterday...havent been hungry at all....but I woke up with one hell if a headache, I'm guessing the above 90 degree weather isn't helping much either... I'm reminding myself often that this is just part of the process and a means to an end... Now if only this headache will go away, sigh

  5. My worst side effect was the "word loss." Basically it made it so when I talked' date=' i couldn't find the words to say. They'd be on the tip of my tongue but I couldn't remember the word. Or sometimes I'd just randomly stop talking in the middle of a sentence. Or, I'd be talking and the completely wrong words would come out even though I didn't mean to say them. It got to the point where I felt like I was coming across as stupid to people for my inability to communicate.[/quote']

Wow, that's insane.. My neurologist never mentioned any of that..

  6. I'm done with everything. I have one appointment with the nutritionist left' date=' then they send my paperwork to get approved for surgery. They stalled my appointment wit the surgeon due to gaining some weight (2 1/2 pounds, which I'm assuming was due to gettin the upper gi that leaves u gassy for days).[/quote']

Make sure you call them and stay on top of them. I was done with EVERYTHING the 1st week if June, it took them a month to get it together and give me a date, and that only happened after I emailed the dr.

  7. So your surgery is the 17th at Salem? Your body gets use to the liquid diet after the 3rd day and I was losing 1 lb a day on it. I'm three weeks post-op and I am so ready for food. Next Wednesday I can start trying fish and chicken. Yahoo!

Keep me posted and hope to see you at the support group sometime. I go every month and sit near the front.

    3 weeks already, wow....

Yes, the 17th at 8am... Trying to prepare my house and get things in order.. I'm planning on staying VERY busy the first few days of the liquid diet so I don't stuff my face...

I'm sure you're ready for some food with texture. How are your incisions?

  8. I was up and walking within a few hours of getting to my room. I was peeing every hour and every other time I got up I took a walk. The nurses ended up leaving my compression boots off because I was getting up on my own.

No pain. I had a block down in recovery and that worked great.

Wow! Sounds like you are doing fabulous!!! Its so nice to hear that you are doing so well. i begin my liquid diet next Wed, i think im mire worried about that than the surgery itself. I can hardly wait until its my turn. ????
