  1. I live alone too. I didn't have any problems. Mom wanted to stay with me but she had a trip to go on. I was afraid I'd be waited on and not get the excersise i should get getting my own drinks. I dropped my pop cycle too and my dog ate it! It's good to laugh at situations that come up. My dog got quite a few treats the first couple weeks because I couldn't bend over! You might get cold feet... But don't give up your dream. Maybe your friend could stop be each day to check on you. And then there's always the phone.
  2. Light fruit juices are good. Also use the broth of soups like chicken noodle, veg beef, etc. it tastes better than plain broth. Go slowly. Sip, sip, sip all day. Good luck
  3. I've lost 25 lbs in 6 weeks. My clothes are so baggy and I don't bite the insides of my cheeks any more! I'm loving this.
  4. My dr said protein bars should have at least 10 grams protein and under 230 calories. Also said to ignore other things on the label. I like EAS and Center for Medical Weight Loss bars.
  5. I'm 6 weeks out. Thought it was longer! Y disability is up today. I go back to work in 2 weeks and have one week after that of meetings and getting my classroom together. I teach 4 year olds...will have 20 with an assistant. I also have fibromyasia. My biggest concern, other than fatigue, is figuring out the food and drink. Can't eat in front of the kids.
  6. I was at the same weight for two weeks! Drove crazy until I decided not to obsess over it
  7. This seems to be a common stage for a stall.
  8. My drs plan added new foods by the day. Made it so easy to follow. No bowel problems. I'm 10 was out and on a regular diet. My dr said to loose faster I need to stick mostly to protein and veggies. I can do that.
  9. Mine is a cheapo digital. It's worked great for many years. I'd save your money unless its that important to you. Use it as a reward to losing.
  10. Google " The Effect of Coca Cola on the Stomach". I for one don't want to take the chance!
  11. I too was a diet dr pepper addict...drank it almost 50 years. I quit cold turkey and discovered diet peach tea ( Snapple). It's the hardest thing I've had to give up but I'm committed to a new healthy life. Pop is full of chemicals and can eat thru my new stomach. Hang in.
  12. My dr told me some weeks ill lose pounds and the next ill lose inches. I'm 2 1/2 months out and have lost about 20 pounds. My clothes are very baggy. Measure your self so the scale isn't the only number youre thinking about.
  13. Try going back to just protein and veggies.
  14. Spark People has low fat crust less recipes
  15. I don't really feel hungry...very strange. Maybe it's because I drink protein between meals. My dr said to eat until I feel satisfied, not full. Last night for supper I had 10 bites of grilled chicken and 5 bites green beans. A typical meal which is the amount he told me to aim for. I stop drinking 30 min before a meal and start again 40 min after. He also told me to don't even think about eating unless I'm hungry and it wouldn't hurt me if I missed lunch now and then. Sometimes I break down and eat lunch at 3:00 pm because I know I need to eat something. Anyone else have this problem?
  16. Here's my menu at 10 days out...V-8 juice light, tomato juice, thinned soups, applesauce, low fat yogurt, low fat/sugar free pudding, thinned out oatmeal, cream of wheat, baby food ( I ate meats, veggies, and fruit. ) on day 14 I added cottage cheese (put baby food fruit in it or sugar free jello. Day 16 added bananas and well chewed strawberries. The time will go fast. Good luck.
  17. Ill have to try those. I like the EAS bars... Many flavors.
  18. I had Cream of Wheat and puréed soups.
  19. Nectar by Syntax is awesome! I like Roadside Lemonade and Fuzzy Navel is the bomb!
  20. Have you tried EAS pre-mixed chocolate and vanilla? I also like Nectar by Syntax ( not sure the spelling ). The Roadside Lemonade is good and the Fuzzy Navel is VERY good. Sometimes I add a packet of Crystal Light for a different flavor. Good luck.
  21. Yea you!! My body has changed drastically. I'm 10 weeks out and have gone from a 2X to a L!! I love wearing baggy clothes.
  22. I had a 6 year old to care for after Ray died. He saved my life. We celebrated Rays birthday for years. I got a gift for Gerritt and we celebrated Rays life. I think it helped Gerritt. Even though Ray was gone, he was still part of our family.
  23. I love eggs and cheese! That's a good idea.
  24. My 17 year old son died 17 years ago June when he fell a sleep driving. He and his best friend died instantly as the car faulted over a creek and landed upside down on the opposite bank. I'm 2 months out of surgery and this is the first year I haven't Gained weight! The pain never goes away...it's like a headache you can't get rid of. I was angry at God at first and don't believe Rays death was part of any plan. My God doesn't work that way. Free will and physics were the problem. Rays guardian angle was there. God was with me as I grieved. He was in my friends and even strangers who grieved with me. He was in the teenagers who came to the visitation and funeral. Find something to do that will honor your son. I support Amanda the Panda which is a support group for families that have lost a child. I also donated bird houses and a deer feeder to the Nature Center because Ray loved animals. It will get better. I wish you peace.
