Food that fills you the most and keeps you that way for a while
I was just at my surgeon's today and asked him about this problem. I was concerned that it meant I went to far. My question was "When you eat and then get a runny nose, sneeze, hiccup, or get back pain etc. does this mean I have reached full or overeaten?" His answer was you have reached full not overeaten. It has something to do with the vagus nerve and is very normal. If you start doing this you need to stop eating because you have reached full. Burping is just burping something I do a lot of! Hope this helps answer your questions.

Grams of protein
They are the best I have tried so far and I have tried a lot of them. I drink 2 a day still and each is 30g, 160 calories and very very low sugar. The chocolate is the best!! You can buy them at Sam's and costco. Give em a try!

Grams of protein
They are excellent and my go to for protein to this day. I still can't quite get all my protein in so I am still drinking them. They are the only ones I can tolerate at this point. Every once in a while I will have a Matrix mint cookie Protein Drink but not very often. Definitely like the chocolate more than the vanilla.

Ketogenic or Atkins diet
Can someone explain how the ketogenic diet works? I have heard about that diet recently but don't understand it.

Medicine's that are definitely a no no
That's good to know that there is at least 1 NSAID that can be taken!

Medicine's that are definitely a no no
This is a terrific idea. The only one I know at this time is obviously NSAID's such as ibuprofen.

If your insurance specifically tells you weight loss surgery isn't covered...
I felt the same way! I am not sure if this is correct but I did read on one of the threads that WLS and your insurance covering it has more to do with the plan that your employer puts together. This made me feel a little better but I still felt the hit in my wallet. Honestly though it was the best money I could have ever spent. I am feeling so much better and today the scale finally told me I have less than 100 pounds to lose now. I had a big smile on my face. Keep looking you will find a surgeon who isn't looking to buy his next Bentley on your money. Mine was wonderful his reason for being affordable was simple. He wanted people to be healthy and he could make it possible. Good luck!!

Please think very carefully about the lapband..........the horror stories are adding up fast!! You can get the VSG cheap enough somewhere. Don't settle because of price it will cost you more in the end. A lot of surgeons are discontinuing the lapband because of the complications. Keep looking I promise you there is a surgeon out there who will do this at a very reasonable cost.

question
I think you need to call your bariatric coordinator for that answer. Each one is probably different so I would check with the office.

Oh Yeah! 2nd goal met!
Okay, so I know that I have 99 pounds to lose but I don't have 134 pounds to lose anymore!! I can finally say to myself that I have less than 100 pounds to lose! I know I am still early in the journey but it just feels so good to know I am on my way and can do it!!! :D

If your insurance specifically tells you weight loss surgery isn't covered...
Unfortunately for me no meant no even with the insurance coordinator. I ended up being a self pay but found an awesome doctor in Boca Raton that did mine for $10,500 all inclusive. His name is Dr. Shillingford. A lot of people also go to Mexico because the rate is even cheaper there. I know of several people who have flown to Boca for the surgery with my doctor because they could still save a lot of money. Do a lot or research the prices are all over the place including countries!! Try and fight it out with your insurance company don't give up. Best of luck to you!!

11 days post op - scared I can eat alot
On day 11 I was definitely eating eggs and could only eat one. My doctor had me eating eggs at this point. It completely filled me up. I see so many times on here that people get scared because they think their sleeve might be to big. When you start eating foods that aren't soft you will definitely see the difference. Your sleeve is working you have already lost 15 pounds....congrats! If you are worried call your doctor to put your fears to rest. Good luck!!

Popcorn
What did it do to you?

7 weeks out: How many oz. are you eating?
My appointment is at 10:00 I drive in from Palm Coast and make a 2 day event of it. Love the I Pic theatre!! That is to funny that we have appointments on the same day. You really need to try the Premier chocolate they are much better than the vanilla. I tried the vanilla and they are just to sweet for me. However, the chocolate is honestly very good. In my opinion and I have tried a lot of them they are the best tasting ones so far. Good luck with your appointment!!

Does everyone w this surgery leave w a drain
As stated so many times before me. I had a drain in the hospital and it was removed before I went home. It never hurt at any time. The removal was only weird feeling and it was about 18" long. But it never hurt! You can handle it..........no problem!
