I couldn't remember if they had sf caramel flavor. That would be great if they have it!

    Omeprazole DR 20mg

Is Omeprazole OTC safer than Zantac OTC? I still need to take 2 a day one in the am and 1 in the pm and was wondering which one would be safer or if they were equal. I find if I don't take the 2nd Zantac in the early am I will wake up with a slight burn and want to avoid that so I still take the 2nd one in the pm.
  3. I have a closet full of really nice clothes and just don't know what to do with them. I thought about consignment but wondered if you really got much back monetarily. Would it be better to just donate them. I am finally ready to get rid of them but don't know which would be better? What have you all done with your clothes?
  4. I just checked this website and it is awesome! I will keep it as a favorite! Thanks for the link!

    Self - Pay Costs?

Dr. Shillingford in Boca is a fantastic doctor. You will save a lot of money and get a great doctor in the process. With that said do what is best for you! Good luck in the new year!!
  6. This is the first year that I can absolutely ignore all those commercials toting the weight loss miracle!! So I bid a fond a due to Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Nutra System, etc etc!!! I feel such a relief that I have turned my life around and have learned to get control of my eating habits that contributed to such an unhealthy me. I am not kidding myself I have a lifetime of keeping myself under control but for the first time in my life it's looking pretty good! I get such a feeling of sadness for those struggling with being overweight and truly wish that this surgery was available to all who wish to turn their lives around. I want to thank all of you on this forum for helping me to reach an 81 pound loss and for the future help to reach my goal. I have my life back and it feels great!!!
  7. Congratulations!! You did it!!! I am so very happy for you and I can't think of a better way to brink the new year!!
  8. It will happen before you know it! Good luck on your journey!
  9. I think we have all questioned ourselves on why we couldn't do it without the surgery but the bottom line is we couldn't. I know that I put in the time and effort to make it happen without the surgery along with you and everyone else on here. I can't even begin to count the money I have spent or the gimmicks that I tried!! All of this always ended in a total feeling of defeat, me weighing more and my wallet weighing less! For me I think the ghrenlin hormone and not being able to feel full was the big factor for me. Having these corrected has really helped me to make the changes needed for successful weight loss. Even if the ghrenlin increases I still have a smaller stomach and can be satisfied quickly with good foods. Yes, life is much better and I too couldn't have done it without the help of those on this forum. I have learned so much from everyone and even if I don't comment on something I have often times learned new insights that will last me a lifetime. Good luck with your journey and I wish you the best!
  10. I couldn't agree more!! I have dealt with many of the same emotional beat downs and I am to the point of wanting to spew out profanities when the commercials come on. When you have been freed from the mental bondage of being overweight you can really see these commercials for what they are and the level to what they will stoop too. I have been freed from the guilt, anguish and FML feelings that these commercials produce. I wish everyone who wanted wls could have it. It is still a tool and it has still taken a lot of changing in my life and it isn't a magic bullet. It was the answer for me and I have done a lot of changing to make this work..............my way! With the help of my sleeve I was finally able to implement what I knew would always work for me. I am looking forward to reaching my goal as some point this year and finally living!!
  11. Thanks for sharing! I enjoyed reading this.
  12. That is so true! I never thought about that I really want someone to get them who needs them. Not the ladies who work at the thrift store. I have already decided to give some to a friend who needs help and donate the rest to a woman's shelter.
  13. Sadly I would have to say that most of us have tried the South Beach Diet and it didn't work for us. I guess in saying try to do low carbs it is with a post op hindsight. If I had had the benefit of no ghrelin then it would have been much easier. Unfortunately they do not and that does sadden me because I wish everyone who wants the surgery could have our opportunity. When I reached the point of deciding on wls I knew I needed the extra help it wasn't going to happen without it. I was done being defeated and it was exactly what I needed. Your husband's bmi is only a 30 so you are right no surgery for him. Perhaps you can clean out the cabinets and feed him what you eat but with larger portions to keep the ghrelin at bay. Keep him satiated through the day with some protein type Snacks and begin an exercise program together that works for both of you. Men lose so much easier than women so hopefully it wouldn't be to long for him to reach his goal. Keep me posted on how things workout! Happy New Year!!
  14. I must say it has become one of my new favorite things to do. But now I am just going to window shop for awhile and wait until spring/summer gets closer so I can see what sizes to buy.
  15. You must have had a serious amount of expensive clothing!! The resale shops around here will only give 40-50% of the resale profit back to you. If I had that much I would do the same but mine would probably be better served in donating them to the woman's shelter.
  16. This is pretty cool! We have one in our county!

    7mths out!

    You are looking fabulous!!
  18. LOL I haven't seen mine either!! I am just now finding bones I thought disappeared!! I'm not sure if it is a good idea to buy anything because I'm just not sure what size I am going to be. I guess if I see a screaming bargain I will pick it up but otherwise I am going to try and keep my wallet on lockdown.
  19. I would be proud of her also!! She looks fantastic! I need to keep the words cheap and thrifty in my head while I finish this process!
  20. I was sleeved in June also and still have my summer and fall clothes. I am still wearing some of the tshirts and shorts but they are humongous on me. I just wear them on the warm days (live in Florida). I was able to wear some of the fall clothes for awhile but ultimately had to buy some. I started in June as a 22/24 and now wear 14's and 16's. I was tempted to buy some fall stuff for next year but like Fluffnomore said I haven't seen that body in a long time and wasn't sure if it was safe to do it. I am looking forward to getting rid of these clothes and shopping for new ones just not the spending money part!
  21. 3 times! Oh man, I was afraid it was going to something like that! I have 52 more pounds to lose and a summer and fall before it is finished. It's a good problem but an expensive one! I shop the clearance racks at the outlet malls and thrift stores but it still ends up costing more than you expect. I'm wandering if I should pick up some medium and large sizes for next fall while the clearance racks are pretty good right now. Thoughts???????
  22. I am sorry that you are having so much trouble with your insurance company. Do you have the coverage on your insurance policy to have bariatric surgery? If not, there is no amount of comorbidities that will make it happen. If this is the case then you would have to be a self pay as I was. If you do have the coverage and your surgeon's office isn't willing to help then you need to seriously get a different doctor. That is the start of a surgeon's office that I wouldn't want to deal with. Look around for a different doctor and see if they are willing to work with you. If you have the coverage don't stop looking! Best of wishes!!

You are looking fabulous and doing a terrific job! I too wanted to eat more than I could but was happy that I couldn't over do it also. Definitely different but a welcome change. Looking great!!

    Stage 4

Congrats on your 34 pounds! Keep up the great work! Happy New Year!
  25. That is what I have decided to do with most of the clothes. There is a woman's shelter in Daytona that is just for those women in flee from there homes. They have a resale shop to help them as well. I have donated furniture to them in the past. I hope the clothes will help someone in need.
