  1. So true! I wish there was a miracle out there. I live in Miami and so many of my friends are pinup perfect bodies. Not just thin but fitness magazine or playboy cover girls! They starve themselves and work out like mad and I wish I could be like them. I know they make good choices to eat clean and exercise religiously but it's been a battle my whole life. I love food! One of my friends said to me (mind you, I was 165 and a size 10 at the time) "you are so lucky your husband doesn't care how you look and loves you for who you are. My husband watches everything I eat. You love food and get to enjoy it"
  2. This scares me too! I have always been a grazer and a late night grazer at that! I am only 7 weeks out and have a large capacity for food. I eat less than before but can eat a quarter of a sub (alf of a half) no problem and like you, am hungry a few hours later and can eat the other half of sub. I only had sub because we were on a boat and it was the best option but still I was surprised he much I can eat.
  3. I work with 2 bypass people who are 5+ years out. One is large 250-280 and walks slow and pained carrying all her weight. She had gotten down to a size 4 but put back on over 100 pounds. She had the most restrictive surgery option possible. The other lady also gained back 30-40 pounds and is still a size 16/18. She's much thinner than she was but she's not thin. She had so many problems post surgery. She was so sick all the time. Everything made her ill. I know others who had bypass and kept the weight off
  4. There is another person who just posted about going from sleeve to DS surgery because she put back on almost 40 pounds taking her from 130 to 170. She said she's eating 1500 calories a day and gaining. I am sure many people have been in your shoes. Good luck with whatever you decide.
  5. Good job! Keep up the good work. I think by day 4 or 5, the hunger will really subside and you will be more adjusted to your new way of eating
  6. I am excited for you. I will check in to see how you are progressing. You seem like someone who when you put your mind to it it, will do what it takes to succeed.
  7. I started at around 210-213 and am 5'6", 38 years old and female. I lost 20 pounds in a month and then hit a stall. Just working toward my goal though and not worrying too much about the short term.
  8. That was a great post. Thanks for sharing. You had a lot of momentum in that post so I was just curious what transpired from oct 2011 until now. Did you stop seeing results, did your eating habits fall back into less healthy choices? Are you going raw to get yourself refocused mentally and physically?
  9. Just curious, is 40 months correct or did you mean weeks? I just started juicing to get better quality nutrients and am just replacing Breakfast with green juice (cucumber, kale, green/yellow apple, celery and lemon) and doing another juice for snack (beet root, purple cabbage, grapes, red apple and blueberries) I still get my Protein in without any problem
  10. Op-quick question, do you mind sharing your weight loss history post sleeve? What did you start at and how low did you get and did you regain after a certain period?
  11. Try adding some kale to your green juice mix- lots of nutrients, not much taste. Sounds like a great day. I think for a long term plan, adding dairy, nuts and Beans would round out this type of food plan but for 7-30 days, it's a great detox of processed foods, chemicals, medals, etc.
  12. Ask dov what to take for constipation like milk of magnesium. That helped me so much! Post surgery, I went 8 days with no bowel movement then took magnesium and cleared myself up!
  13. Tuna salad made with light mayo is yummy and nice to have not sweet. I enjoy soup too.
  14. I am prone to cold sores or was until 5 years ago when my life was literally changed forever by the discovery of DMSO cream! I was desperate after getting the most hideous cold sore ever (took off work it was so ugly). I tried everything. Even paid to download a PDF book on cold sore treatments. Google DMSO cream (70/30 ratio in rose scented)- can buy online at any Vitamin shops. It PREVENTS cold sores. When you get the tingle or indication that one is starting, apply DMSO (use clean hands and to clean body surface) to the area where you think the sore is coming and to the base of the spine twice a day. Never had a sore since
  15. I love it! I just watched that movie about juicing for weight loss and health and made myself a gallon of mean green juice (kale, celery, cucumber, green apples and lemon) and a smaller container of red juice (blueberries, apple, beet root and purple cabbage and lemon). Been thinking of doing a cleanse for a week or just replacing 1-2 meals with nutrient rich juices.
  16. Right there with you! 6 weeks out and had a 2 1/2 week stall, the dropped 5 pounds overnight only to be back up 3 pounds the next few days straight! So frustrating and like you, I am doing everything right. Just keep pushing through.
  17. Ask your doctor about doing a juice cleanse for however long you can manage it. I would try that before getting DS surgery. The cleanse will clean you out, reboot your system and help you shed pounds crazy fast. With your smaller capacity from vsg, you should feel full enough to do it. The nutrient rich blends will be good for your body overall.
  18. Guessing the op put back 38 from this picture, which brings her approaching 170 And a BMI of around 30 which is why she is stressing. To the op- what does your doctor say about the gain? I feel your pain. That level of calories shouldn't have you gaining weight.
  19. I worked with a lady who had DS surgery (she had the most restrictive surgery with a ring constricting food, and full bypassing of stomach) and she got down to a size 4 and still managed to balloon back up to a size 20/22+. She looks like she NEEDS surgery but has no more options. Another lady at work had it done and lost a lot of weight but never hit goal and her weight has crept up too. She's a size 14/16 They are both long term people (I know short term who dropped to goal quick but I don't know where they will be in 5-10 years) Both of the above mentioned had and still have issues eating, get tick sick and with dumping.
  20. Am I the only one who thinks the cooked food on their prepared food bar is incredibly fattening? I am sure there are some exceptions but I consider that like restaurant food and would approach with caution!
  21. For the record, I weighed myself yesterday and today and I am up 3 1/2 pounds today. I know I didn't put on that much real weight in a day so it's just Water weight. It's annoying to see the scale move up but it's just fluctuation. I normally don't weigh myself daily for that reason but did it now thinking of your thread. Don't get discouraged as stalls and weight fluctuations are normal.
  22. Drinking and eating are no good for me either. I have made the mistake of taking a few sips after I was done eating and the extra liquid made me feel too full and uncomfortable. I didn't take into account that the liquid would take up that much room. When I drink straight liquid, it goes through quickly and doesn't bother me but together with food, can't happen
  23. If you mean me, nope no problem at all. I can almost drink the same as pre-op. there's no sip sip sip here. I drink 2-3 oz at a time.
  24. Let us know if you find any other good healthy finds
