  1. Howdy y'all! I'm Kristin from Eastland. It's a little town about an hour west of Fort Worth!

I was sleeved on July 1, 2013 and I'm down 29lbs and 29 inches! Glad to have a Texas group!

Any Aggies out there? Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 2006!

  2. I'm one month post op and STARTED MY FIRST REAL PERIOD today! I was diagnosed with PCOS about 10 years ago and I'm astonished that I'm already having a normal cycle!!! I'm down 29 lbs and I'm so excited to be ovulating!!! My hubby and I have been trying for years and ended up adopting 3 years ago. For now we are just using condoms because I don't want to take any more hormones! So, we'll just see what God has in store! Either way, next summer, we'll either be trying to get pregnant or venturing into the adoption process again!

  3. Here are my night before surgery and almost one month post op pics. I notice change in my face' date=' stomach and hips. I can't wait for my 6 month pics. I hope to see some others post before and current too.

Girl, that's awesome!!!! I can totally see the difference EVERYWHERE! I haven't done full body shots, yet, but here is my face comparison!

  4. Hey y'all! We've got to get this thread going again! I'm following the other July threads, but those sleevers are weeks behind us!

    I'LL START

    5' 4" 29 yrs.

    SW: 277

    CW: 253

I've dropped 24 lbs since 7/1 and haven't lost an ounce in 2 weeks!!! I think it's because I'm only getting ~32oz of fluids a day. :-/ Must increase! However, I measured and have lost 29 inches from my body!!! HALLELUJAH!!!!!! I'm worried about my caloric intake because my NUT told me minimum of 1000, but that's seems waaaaay to much. So I set my own goal of 500-600. I'm trying to figure how to break this stall!!!!

Yesterday, I had my first NSV and got to scratch an item off my "Skinny Bucket List"... I crossed my legs comfortably and I didn't even know I was doing it! I just looked down and my legs were crossed and my pants were baggy!

This encouraged me to compare pics... And HOLY SHMOLIES.... The difference in unbelievable!!! I've already lost my neck and a few chins!!!

Tell us... We all need the encouragement in knowing we are not alone!!! Who better to talk to than the July 1 Sleevers!!!!

What are your week 4 stats?

    How much are you eating?

    Calorie range?

    Have you stalled, yet?

    Any NSV's?

Who can actually drink 64 oz?!?!?!?

What kind if exercising are you doing?

    Pictures?

  5. I am almost 6 weeks post op and I still can only 3 or 4 bites at a time but it is so much more then I was able to a week and a half ago. I think it's gonna have to take time. My problem is taking big bites and eating fast. I need to slow down!

What is the reasoning behind eating slow? I get the "small bites," but I'm having a hard time understanding why we have to eat at a snail's pace? It's the HARDEST thing for me!

  6. Oh my goodness! I'm so excited I could shout from the roof tops!!!!! I was sleeved 27 days ago and lost 24 lbs in the first two weeks. Since then, I've been in a "stall." No loss on the scale and I was getting pretty discouraged. My DH encouraged me to measure and see what the difference in inches was. Y'all.... I've lost 29 inches!!!

I was having trouble seeing the weight/inches lost.... until I did my first photo comparison... Holy Shmolies!!!!

My hubby took me out on a date to Celebrate (he enjoyed the food, but that isn't fun for me anymore!) After dinner, we went to the movies and we were sitting in the theatre waiting for it to start. I looked down, and MY LEGS WERE CROSSED... COMFORTABLY!!! And my jeans weren't cutting off my circulation... They were baggy!!!

    Just wanted to share!!!

  7. My first NSV!!!

My hubby and I are on date night and we are in the theatre waiting on the movie to start... I just looked down and MY LEGS ARE CROSSED AND MY PANTS ARE BAGGY!!! Hallelujah!!!!!

I'm 27 days out and down 24 lbs! I measured today and have lost 29 INCHES!!!!! I have been in a two-week stall, but this new discovery has given me what I needed to push through the stall!!! Can't wait for the rest of y'all to get to this point!!!

  8. Hey y'all!! Sorry I've been out of pocket!!!

I have finally put my book together and it's AMAZING! :) I need to edit it so it can be generic, because it's completely tailored to me! I want to put it in PDF format that will be easy to print.

I'm a teacher getting ready for school, but I promise I'll get it done soon! :) Those of you who have posted in this thread, I'm going to EMAIL you a copy. But I've learned that there are dozens of other people from my support group who want it and my NUT wants to sell them! So I'm going to sell them!! But y'all get it for free!

  9. I agree with ALL of you... 1000 calories seems INSANE!! I'm not real fond of my NUT, so Id rather go with what works for the majority!

Do you think if I stay between 600-700 that I'll be okay? I'm starting week 4 post-op. I'm definitely going to up the Water... I sip all day long... I don't know how to UP it!

  10. If I may ask' date=' how are you getting in 1000 cal. ? What foods are you eating? The max I seem to be getting in is 475-500. I'm just curious because I'm nowhere near that. I see my Dr. Wednesday, so I'll ask her, too. [/quote']

I'm already eating real foods. I'm eating ham & cheese roll ups, chicken/tuna salad, Protein bars, shrimp, sweet potatoes, chili & cheese, cheese sticks...

I'm eating every 2 hours... even though I'm not hungry. :(

  11. Howdy y'all! I know I've read about these before, but since it's effecting me personally, I need some reassurance!

Today is the start of week 4 for me, but I haven't lost anything in over 9 days! In fact... I've gained 2.8 pounds!?! My NUT told me I need to be getting 1000 calories a day, and I've been meeting that, AND I'm getting 80-90 grams of Protein each day. The only thing I haven't mastered is the liquid intake! I'm only getting about 30-40 oz each day.

Help me! What am I doing wrong?

  12. Why are you struggling? Pain' date=' or other issues? I'm getting sleeved on Wed. I'm interested in joining the support group as well.[/quote']

I'm happy to say that I WAS struggling! I couldn't get liquids to go down... even the smallest baby sip felt like a huge gulp! I went in to see the doc and he did another swallow test and found that my sleeve was almost swollen shut.... and clogged with mucus. He gave me steroid shot and it was better the next day! I can take normal drinks now!!!

  13. I am a Texas teacher. I have been teaching K but this year I am moving to 1st grade. Excited for a change! I was sleeved on June 18th and have lost 27 pounds with pre-op diet. My goal is to get back into some clothes that are hanging in my closet and not have to buy clothes to go back to school this year. I need to lose about 10 more pounds. This stinking stall is not making me hopeful though. I had a 2 day workshop a week after surgery and I was still in so much pain. I was determined that I was not going to take pain meds while at school but on the 1st day at lunch I was in so much pain I asked my principal if it was ok to take them and she said' date=' I was not in charge of kids so it was fine. She has also had this surgery so was completely understanding. Excited about hearing school success stories and weight los success stories! Thanks for starting this topic![/quote']

Howdy, fellow Texas teacher!! Where are you from? I live/teach in Eastland. I've taught in Fort Worth and Abilene, also!

  14. Howdy y'all! I'm from a little-bity town in west Texas and I have been asked to start a WLS Support Group. I need some ideas...

    1. What do y'all DO at your support group meetings? What is the agenda and goal?

    2. I need ideas for a clever name for our group... can you help me out!

    3. How often to y'all meet?

    4. Are there any materials that I CAN get or NEED to get to have available for members!!

  15. I'm 2 weeks post-op. I just started the purée/soft food stage and Im wondering if the following soft foods are okay?

    -oatmeal

    -egg face "egg bites"

    -tilapia/catfish (other grilled fish)

    -shrimp w/ cocktail sauce

    -mashed potatoes

    -mashed sweet potatoes

    -laughing cow cheese wedge

  16. Thank y'all so much for your wisdom!!! I go see my NUT in a couple of days and will try to get a better understanding of the calorie dilemma! Only 14 days post-op, so my tracking is still nothing but liquids! Hoping it will be easier to see patterns when I can start on more solid foods! Thanks for the valuable input!!!
