  1. Hey y'all! I'm only 7 days post-op, but I'm making myself a food journal to have bound so that I can carry it with me everywhere. I also have MFP, but I love to write things down and see patterns! I'm an OCD list maker!!!! In my food log, which nutritional facts are the most important to track? Right now, I have listed: CALORES, CARBS, Proteins, FAT, & SUGARS. Are any of those not necessary or somewhat unimportant? When I come to a stall, I want to be able to look back and see where the intake numbers have changed to help me get out of the stall. I just don't want to waste time counting sugars if its really not a necessity, you know?
  2. July FIRST sleevers.... since we were sleeved on the same day, I'd like to know how many calories you are aiming it each day? My NUT wouldn't give me a number to focus on. I NEED to have a daily personal goal!!! I'm currently set at 700 on MFP, but I go over that almost every day! Please give me some guidance!
  3. Howdy July 1st Sleevers!!! I'm 35 lbs down and THREE jean sizes!! I feel like a million bucks!!!

Howdy y'all! I'm Kristin from Eastland. It's a little town about an hour west of Fort Worth! I was sleeved on July 1, 2013 and I'm down 29lbs and 29 inches! Glad to have a Texas group! Any Aggies out there? Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 2006!

    PCOS sisterhood.

I'm one month post op and STARTED MY FIRST REAL PERIOD today! I was diagnosed with PCOS about 10 years ago and I'm astonished that I'm already having a normal cycle!!! I'm down 29 lbs and I'm so excited to be ovulating!!! My hubby and I have been trying for years and ended up adopting 3 years ago. For now we are just using condoms because I don't want to take any more hormones! So, we'll just see what God has in store! Either way, next summer, we'll either be trying to get pregnant or venturing into the adoption process again!
  7. Even my eyes have changed!!
  8. Oh! My email is kristin.jordan@rocketmail.com
  9. July 1sters... what are your MFP usernames! I'd live to see what everyone else is eating!! (I don't want to waste my time following the diaries of sleevers who are at different points in their journeys than me! My MFP: dedemichelle83
  10. Hey y'all! We've got to get this thread going again! I'm following the other July threads, but those sleevers are weeks behind us! I'LL START 5' 4" 29 yrs. SW: 277 CW: 253 I've dropped 24 lbs since 7/1 and haven't lost an ounce in 2 weeks!!! I think it's because I'm only getting ~32oz of fluids a day. :-/ Must increase! However, I measured and have lost 29 inches from my body!!! HALLELUJAH!!!!!! I'm worried about my caloric intake because my NUT told me minimum of 1000, but that's seems waaaaay to much. So I set my own goal of 500-600. I'm trying to figure how to break this stall!!!! Yesterday, I had my first NSV and got to scratch an item off my "Skinny Bucket List"... I crossed my legs comfortably and I didn't even know I was doing it! I just looked down and my legs were crossed and my pants were baggy! This encouraged me to compare pics... And HOLY SHMOLIES.... The difference in unbelievable!!! I've already lost my neck and a few chins!!! Tell us... We all need the encouragement in knowing we are not alone!!! Who better to talk to than the July 1 Sleevers!!!! What are your week 4 stats? How much are you eating? Calorie range? Have you stalled, yet? Any NSV's? Who can actually drink 64 oz?!?!?!? What kind if exercising are you doing? Pictures?
  11. Oh my goodness! I'm so excited I could shout from the roof tops!!!!! I was sleeved 27 days ago and lost 24 lbs in the first two weeks. Since then, I've been in a "stall." No loss on the scale and I was getting pretty discouraged. My DH encouraged me to measure and see what the difference in inches was. Y'all.... I've lost 29 inches!!! I was having trouble seeing the weight/inches lost.... until I did my first photo comparison... Holy Shmolies!!!! My hubby took me out on a date to celebrate (he enjoyed the food, but that isn't fun for me anymore!) After dinner, we went to the movies and we were sitting in the theatre waiting for it to start. I looked down, and MY LEGS WERE CROSSED... COMFORTABLY!!! And my jeans weren't cutting off my circulation... They were baggy!!! Just wanted to share!!!

    Eating is complicated @4 weeks

What is the reasoning behind eating slow? I get the "small bites," but I'm having a hard time understanding why we have to eat at a snail's pace? It's the HARDEST thing for me!

    July 2013 sleevers

My first NSV!!! My hubby and I are on date night and we are in the theatre waiting on the movie to start... I just looked down and MY LEGS ARE CROSSED AND MY PANTS ARE BAGGY!!! Hallelujah!!!!! I'm 27 days out and down 24 lbs! I measured today and have lost 29 INCHES!!!!! I have been in a two-week stall, but this new discovery has given me what I needed to push through the stall!!! Can't wait for the rest of y'all to get to this point!!!

    Help a newbie with TRACKING!

Hey y'all!! Sorry I've been out of pocket!!! I have finally put my book together and it's AMAZING! I need to edit it so it can be generic, because it's completely tailored to me! I want to put it in PDF format that will be easy to print. I'm a teacher getting ready for school, but I promise I'll get it done soon! Those of you who have posted in this thread, I'm going to EMAIL you a copy. But I've learned that there are dozens of other people from my support group who want it and my NUT wants to sell them! So I'm going to sell them!! But y'all get it for free!
  15. I'm 6 days post-op tomorrow and there are a couple of things I WISHED I had bought before surgery. I've had it rough and already refilled my pain meds! Hoping the weekend will offer more healing! -Abdominal Binder: every little movement hurts... innards and incisions. It would be sooooo much easier to get up and down, cough, pass gas, etc, if things were held in. My doc said that a little pillow would be sufficient, BUT I BEG TO DIFFER! -Large Icepack: I had bought a small one, but I need one that covers all of my incisions! -Heating pad: works WONDERS for the trapped gas in the shoulders and back... instant relief. -Isopure RTD's: I had tried them out before surgery and loved them, but didn't get anymore. They come in 20oz. glass bottles and have 40 grams of Protein. My biggest struggle this week has been getting enough fluids in... Much less protein!!! I sent my brother to buy me more today. If I can drink 3 of those tomorrow (it will take ALL day!), I will have drank 60oz and 120g of protein! Bam!!! -Small-sized Tupperware: It's driving me crazy to put 1/2 cup of broth in our huge Cereal bows! It would be nice to know how much the container holds and not have to measure everything, every time!
  16. Howdy y'all! I know I've read about these before, but since it's effecting me personally, I need some reassurance! Today is the start of week 4 for me, but I haven't lost anything in over 9 days! In fact... I've gained 2.8 pounds!?! My NUT told me I need to be getting 1000 calories a day, and I've been meeting that, AND I'm getting 80-90 grams of Protein each day. The only thing I haven't mastered is the liquid intake! I'm only getting about 30-40 oz each day. Help me! What am I doing wrong?

    Week 3 GAIN!

I agree with ALL of you... 1000 calories seems INSANE!! I'm not real fond of my NUT, so Id rather go with what works for the majority! Do you think if I stay between 600-700 that I'll be okay? I'm starting week 4 post-op. I'm definitely going to up the Water... I sip all day long... I don't know how to UP it!
  18. Howdy y'all! I'm from a little-bity town in west Texas and I have been asked to start a WLS Support Group. I need some ideas... 1. What do y'all DO at your support group meetings? What is the agenda and goal? 2. I need ideas for a clever name for our group... can you help me out! 3. How often to y'all meet? 4. Are there any materials that I CAN get or NEED to get to have available for members!!
  19. So.... I've noticed on several WLS recipes, it calls for the full-fat versions of things! What is the best approach when it comes to the three options? When I go to the store, what one should I buy?

    Pureé & Softs

I'm 2 weeks post-op. I just started the purée/soft food stage and Im wondering if the following soft foods are okay? -oatmeal -egg face "egg bites" -tilapia/catfish (other grilled fish) -shrimp w/ cocktail sauce -mashed potatoes -mashed sweet potatoes -laughing cow cheese wedge
  21. kjordan83

    Full fat, low-fat, or fat-free?

Thank y'all so much for your wisdom!!! I go see my NUT in a couple of days and will try to get a better understanding of the calorie dilemma! Only 14 days post-op, so my tracking is still nothing but liquids! Hoping it will be easier to see patterns when I can start on more solid foods! Thanks for the valuable input!!!
