  1. June 12 is my birthday and I can have soft food. I am going to a nice place that has grilled fish. I eat sugar free tapioca and drink EAS choco shakes. I like banana muscle milk and all yogurts. Can't have fruit yet. I saw a buffalo chicken purée recipe on this forum I want to try. I don't mind soupy oat meal.
  2. Ok now I am freaked out. No one told me going to,fast could cause a leak. I thought it was just about tolerating stuff and I have done fine. I don't want to do anything that can cause a leak. Wednesday I can start purée foods. They have good recipes here so I will use those.
  3. We are in the same boat. I had my sleeve 5/22/13. I am 5'1" and I weighed 196 my day of surgery. I also want 120 but at 55 I am not sure that is possible.
  4. I have all my pills. I am 12 days out and haven't started them yet. I guess I need to.
  5. I had to do 2 weeks full liquid. Had to strain cream soups. No fruit or anything I could chew. I had to do clear liquid the day before. I hate isopure. It was hard for me the whole time. Had to quit diet cokes. But I made it and got my sleeve. Almost ready to start purée.
  6. I am 12 days out. I lost 14 lbs before surgery and have lost 6 since then. I am working on upping my protein and water to lose better.
  7. I had no idea if I would actually show up. I have been an RN for over 30 years. I knew everyone In the OR. I trusted my Doctor. I was just scared. I had to have my right hip replaced twice and it was horrible both times. This was cake compared to that. The worst part is the day of surgery when you can't eat or drink anything. But it's just one day. I took my pain medicine every 4 hours until I was not sore. I was able to walk right away and I did that a lot. I used my IS to prevent pneumonia. I went back to work 6 days after but my Doctor sent me home and told me because I had my gall bladder out as well he wanted me to rest. So take 2 weeks if you can. Complications are rare. Do what they tell you to do and you will be fine. I am now 12 days out and am so excited for the future. Good luck and we will look forward to hearing from you post op.
  8. I was sleeved May 22. I am supposed to be on full liquids still but I felt so hungry. I got a grilled chicken breast fro KFC and some potatoes and gravy. I cut up the meat, not that hard outer part, really fine. I ate an ounce of meat and two tablespoons of the potatoes. It just helped. It may have been mental but after 2 weeks on the preop diet and a week post op I just had to have some real food. I am back on full liquids now but just knowing I can have food makes me feel better. I can't say you should do this because it is against what I was told to do. But I did it and lived:)
  9. I am12 days out and having problems with protien and water. I can have as many shakes as I want. I only drink the liquid stuff that is pre made. I have been on so many shake diets in my life and I cannot stand the thought of powdered shakes. I guess I could mix up a banana and some peanut butter with my EAS chocolate. I hate water. Always have. Just gonna have to make myself. BTW. Banana Muscle Milk is great.
  10. I am less than 2 weeks out. They said I could have wine. First of all I drank too much and threw up. Then the next day I could barely move. It was like hangover x10. I stayed in bed all day. I guess next time I will just sip one glass, if there is a next time. May just give it up now hen I added the wine to my fitness pal I was disgusted at the calories.
  11. Shirlannrn. Please add me. I have used MFP for a while, even before I decided on the sleeve. I love it now because it keeps up with my protien.
