I think you can go to your regional passport office for same day passports. You may need to call first for an appointment. But, I would first see if you can check on the status of yours. Best of luck & well wishes for your surgery.

I got my passport card... (it's cheaper) for land travel only. I did pay for the rush and it took 10 days.

My husband and I both have the pass cards from a previous trip to Canada. I wouldn't chance being held up at the border.

I contemplated a few things. My car is paid off... so the bank offered a loan using my car as collateral. A low interest rate credit card. Or... what I decided to do is refinance my house. Rates are so low right now that seemed like the best choice. If all else fails,I read somewhere on here that One Main Financial (google them) offers unsecured loans. Best of luck!
