How soon did you fly after your surgery? Were you comfortable? How long of a flight was it? Complications of flyng after?

I'm wondering if anyone on here has used plexus to help loose even more weight post op surgery?
-
Oh Yeah I know. My last apt with my pcp is sept 30th I'm deff glad that I only have 3.5 months left!! and hopefully surgery in early oct. I lost another pound at my last weighing. so thats good but wish its was more.
-
So had my first apt today with my surgeon and now they tell me I have to do 6 months of the diet. :/ and they had told me on the phone that I only had to do 3. boo. but oh well At least I will still get to have surgery around the time I want.

My first Surgeon Apt is June 5th This Wednesday

Well I've almost done 3 months with my PCP. And will do 3 more months with the NUT, since I don't want to be sleeved until Sept since at my job its so busy right now. I'm a Vet Tech so the summers I do tons of overtime and more pets will be coming in now than in August and Sept when people are more concerned getting in the mode of getting kids back to school or college. .

What all happened on your first surgeon visit?

I hardly get sleep at night and I'm getting up a lot at night. I've had these problems for years but have never done a sleep study. When I was younger I was suppose to have a sleep study but my mother actually refused to take me. So how was everyone else diagnosed with Sleep Apnea?

Ha I can't wait till mine is sent in. I will be calling daily.

No counting calories isn't a bad thing.

I disagree, I think it is extremely important to track calories. Dr. Ashmore, a PhD that spoke at the support group last week put it this way. 100 additional calories a day.....meaning,100 more than you need to maintain.....100 calories every day is over 36,000 calories a year. Equals 10 lbs a year.
I don't know about y'all, but I didn't wake up 80 lbs overweight, it happened over a number of years, probably 8 - 10 lbs a year would be a safe bet. It sneaks up on us, it doesn't just appear. We don't go to bed a size 8 and wake up squeezing into an 18 or 20.
I'm just sayin'
Well actually I disagree on this When I was running 5 miles each day for the soccer team and gained 30 pounds within a month that was the worst news I ever heard. I was eating right and Running and doing weights and then the drs ran blood tests and I had hypothyroidism and pcos and pre-diabetic. So really yes weight really can come upon a person really fast. I've struggled with my weight since then and have done tons of diets and weightloss programs and none have worked. so now I'm going for my first apt with my surgeon this june and have already done 3 months of dieting.

Oh there is a Thread for this look in the pre op section

For your Diet did you make a calendar for the whole month and what time you ate what for every day? And did you do a 3 or 6 months of Dieting?
-
I'm really nervous about the whole insurance thing. My most concern is being denied. I have PCOS, Pre-diabetic, Hypothyrodism, Insulin Resticance. I did have gall bladder disease and had it removed in emergency surgery last March. I've already been on a Diet since April 13' (this year) with my pcp. I have my first Surgeon Visit in June. And will have 3 classes with Nut and 1 with Psych. I'm just really nervous on the whole Cigna insurance since I've seen people on here its taking them months to get approved.

This is actually normal because of the fact that you did just have a Trach Tube down your throat. I'm a vet tech so sometimes the trach tube does bother patients. You can alway ask your Dr for a cough suppressant that should help Get better Soon!! I'm hoping to have my Surgery in end of Sept or Early Oct

Flying after surgery ?
in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Oh wow. I'm getting mine locally but was going to fly out to fl like after 2-3wks after my surgery in oct to visit family. But wasn't sure on if anyone had stomach troubles then.
Oh and my surgeon already told me that since I had complications with my emergency gallbladder surgery last year that I would at least be staying 2 nights at the hospital. :/ is that normal to be told, that already?
