  2. What about your intake of fats? I often see people who are struggling with hunger talk about Protein and fibre but I rarely see them talk about fats. You need to be getting good quality fats in' date=' mono unsaturated fatty acids. Avocado, olives and olive oil, seeds, especially flaxseed, or seed oils if it is too early for you to have the seeds. These do more for satiation and are essential in helping your body burn your visceral fat.

Edited to add a list o easy to access MUFA foods. The foods are calorie dense so sparing use is advised, but they do increase your feeling of fullness as they are fats and fats are a filler. But they are good fats so will help your journey to health in moderation.

    Avocados,

Nuts, such as almonds, cashews, pecans and macadamias,

    Nut butters,

    Olive oil,

    Olives,

    Peanut oil.

    Flax oil

    Sunflower oil

    Canola oil

    Green olives

    Almond butter

    Peanut Butter

    chocolate chips

    Avocadoes

    Seeds

    Macadamia nuts

    Dark chocolate

    Peanuts

    Soybeans

    Tahini

    Pesto sauce[/quote']

Your absolutely right. I always try to have a little of the good fats in each meal but being so early in the process there is little I can ingest in the good fats. I can do Peanut Butter, olive oil, and canola oil at this point.

  3. Try and eat like every 3 hours' date=' even if it is multiple times. That will help with your hunger. I dont know how far out you are, or what stage you are at. If your still on liquids drink an extra Protein shake. If on soft or mushy still drink another Protein Shake. Or maybe add your Protein powder to yogurt or sf pudding.[/quote']

Thanks I will try that! I can pretty much have anything but grains and raw vegetables right now. I've been making sure my food has a lot of Protein and Fiber to keep me full, but I think my body is still adjusting

  4. I'm so excited for all of us. I am at 199.3 but I haven't been that small in 4 years so success!!!! Just imagine how low the scale will be in another 6 months! After having surgery I look forward to waking up and seeing how my body changes! I know you shouldn't weigh yourself everyday, but I do and I love it!!

  5. At 225 I said enough was enough. I went to talk to meet with the bariatric team an was scared shitless (especially being 20) I left the office and said no, this isn't for me ill go back to weight watchers. I did weight watchers for 3 months and had no weightloss. Over the course of a year I was continuing to gain weight, I was always exhausted, i lost my self control when it came to food, and I began to snore really badly. I got a job and in August I went to DC for a training with a coworker who had bypass. That trip I talked to her about everything regarding my

Weight problems. She told me how her surgery was the best thing she ever did. I called

My mom while I was in DC and told her to make me an appointment to go back to the bariatric team. The ironic part was my appointment date was exactly one year from my first original appointment that freaked me out.

  6. I had diarrhea 4 days post op and continued to have it until 15 days post-op when I had my first solid. It's different for everyone. My doctor told

Me to take milk of magnesium if I didn't go after 4 days post op.

  7. I had no cravings...I gained weight because of the hormones...I was at the same calories 1200-1400 and working with a nutritionist for the past 4 years and gained weight on depo

Oh I believe you, but most people on birth control feel like their pregnant so they crave and go crazy. I gained like 60 lbs on my b.c. pills. I craved though I felt super hungry from being emotional (emotional eater) but your right a lot of people just gain from hormones. I should of added that into my comment :)

  8. How do you like the depo? I'm on nuvaring and looking for something more permanent but I'm scared of IUDs. Doesn't depo cause weight gain?

I love it! I have only been on it for a little bit. It's one shot every three months. It's quick and I don't have to think about it everyday. I haven't spotted or anything. I've heard a lot of people said they've gained weight on it, but I think you have to give into those cravings they cause you to have (which I haven't had any) any birth control can cause weight gain, because it tricks your body into thinking it pregnant. I use to take seasonique which I loved but the first year bc pills are only 30% effective because of absorption.
