  1. That is a tough one. I went to disney several months post op and that is quite a bit further than you will be. I packed a lot of my own food. There were some things where I just bit the bullet and got a meal, like the character meals where you are "paying for the experience" and you can't really "not" eat their food. So I did that a few times, but other times I would pack things that I knew I could eat and take them along in our bag. [/quote

  2. My BMI was 35 when I had my surgery. I weighed 230 and I'm 5'8. I was about a size 16/18. I lost 23 pounds my first month and each month after that I lost around 10 pounds. I reached my goal in ten months. I weigh 130 and my BMI is 20. I am below my goal weight and have maintained this weight for seven months. I know everyone is different but maybe you will be one of the lucky ones and will lose quickly . The most important thing to me was not how quickly I lost weight just that I had a steady weight loss. Watching the scale move downward each week is the best feeling in the world !!!

  3. I felt the same way. February 15 will be one year for me!!I I started out weighing 230 pounds. I have lost 95 pounds. I reached my goal of 138 in ten months and now

I'm a couple of pounds under goal at 135. You will lose weight and just imagine what you will be posting a year from now!!! Good luck to you.

  4. I had mine during our February break. Surgery was on Saturday. Flew home Tuesday and went back to work Monday. I was really tired those first few days back. I teach second grade so I couldn't really do much teaching those first couple of days. I hate to admit it but I just gave mostly busy work and tried to take it easy. I didn't tell anyone about my surgery so that's why I didn't take any time off.

  5. The day I had surgery I weighed 230 and I am close to 5"8. You know the crazy thing is that a year before my surgery my highest weight was 215 and I had taken diet pills and had gotten down to 167. Look at how much weight I gained back over a years time plus even more. When I decided to have this surgery I began to eat all the time because I kept telling myself that I would never be able to eat like that again . I stopped weighing myself so I had no idea I weighed 230. I had never weighed that much in my whole life . I decided to have surgery bc I was sick of losing and gaining and losing and gaining. My surgery was in February 15, 2014 and I have lost 92 pounds. I weigh 138 which was exactly my goal weight. It has taken me 10 months . I thank god everyday for this surgery and wouldn't change a thing. By the way I can eat whatever I want just much smaller amounts so I never feel deprived. I didn't do this to be miserable and feel like I was on some crazy diet . I went to Mexico and I used Dr. Quinones and he was wonderful . Good luck to you!!!

  6. I had decided to have my surgery with Dr. Quionnes in February. Now I realize that he gives epidurals and you have a catheter. I'm not sure what to do know because I have gotten extremely sick (violently vomiting) after I have had an epidural. I also have lower back problems and my pcp said that this could aggravate my problem and make it worse. The catheter thing...well I just hate catheters, Anyway I need advice. I am ready to choose another doctor now and I don't know if I am making a big deal out of nothing or not. Should I just suck it up and deal with it? Do other doctors use epidurals and catheters? Please help!
