  1. i have tried proti-stuff before in my pre-op....blech! i bought the puddings...well, i spent so much money on them and they are high in protein so im gonna figure out a way to use them. but definitely, i know now to just make regular food, and use the unflavored protein to add to it! i tried protidiet caramel pudding - made the cup of pudding, took a few bites. it was alright...if i can add something it might taste better, idk what tho...well, i ate half, then got a shower and when i came back, it was this nasty liquid something or other in the cup, like it completely lost its pudding texture!!
  2. my surgery is tomorrow morning (Monday).i have my times of nervousness, and my times of feeling calm and collected lol i have to be to the hospital at 6am.
  3. I am here at the TJ Marriott, surgery is tomorrow. Anyone else here who is having surgery this week? I will be here until Thursdsy.
  4. I just made the trek myself...it wasnt bad, i went in the afternoon. It's a nice walk, i'll be doing that again. I just met 3 other people at the pool area who had surgery with dr. ariel ortiz and the OCC yesterday and they are doing great. it was nice to bump into them and hear more positive things about the OCC and helps solidify in my mind the decision i am making!
  5. kindle, they told me there is a walmart nearby...is it within walking distance? ok to walk or should i take taxi? never been in MX before, can you tell?! lol i only brought a carry on so i need some items that i couldnt bring and i could really use a stretch of the leg after 8 hrs on a plane today!
  6. Thanks. I might be down more..just arrived ate airport and the shuttle picked me up. Freaking out, a bit nervous wondering what I am doing!! I go in Monday at 6am.
  7. The shuttle just picked me up from the airport. I have today and tmw to think about how crazy I am. I go in on Monday at 6:10am. Starting to freak a little like what am I doing! I think I was so busy researching the logistics of things that I failed to think about the emotional side of things. The good thing is a fellow sleever I met on here is having the surgery same day as me down here and she will arrive tmw so I will have a friend. But right now I think I need to run to my hotel room and have a good cry about what I am about to do! Who's idea was it for me to go to Mexico for major surgery?!! Lol...kinda
  8. I totally feel you! I am on day 12 of my 15 day pre-op diet. At first it was hard, then it got easier. Now I'm miserable again. I want the surgery done... Im just so hungry now that i cant have salads to help fill me up with protein shakes! hang in there!!!
  9. My starting weight was 288. I started trying to lose weight when i booked my surgery back in November. As of this morning, I've lost 26 lbs including my 2 week pre-op diet.
  10. I've been having trouble with it all day but I'm thinking it's all the snow storms where I am and maybe it's affecting my internet?
  11. That's how I feel right now. I'm headed to Mexico on Saturday, flying out to San Diego on Saturday by myself! I think I'm just prepared for this....although on the OR table I may freak out a bit
  12. Today was your day!!! Hope all went well with your surgery.
  13. That's so good to hear! Glad everything went well I'm starting to get nervous now since I fly out a less than two days! My surgery is on Monday.. Did you have to lose a lot of weight before your surgery? So far in my two week pre-op I've only lost about 10 or 11 pounds, I was hoping for about 15 pounds. Did you travel alone or with someone?
  14. So glad to hear that! I'm getting nervous! I fly out on Saturday... what was your starting weight, if you don t mind me asking. were you able to lose what you needed to pre-op? I'm only have lost 10lbs so far in a week and a half (started my 2 week pre op last monday.) down 25 lbs total. was hoping to be down 30lbs before surgery. :\
  15. ii fly out on saturday for the OCC. Im staying in the marriott a day earlier than i need to so i can get an idea of the area around me...plus it was $70 cheaper for me to fly on saturday instead of sunday, and id rather spend the extra $70 on a night at the marriott in TJ rather than freezing here in Philly
  16. I've traveled on many different airlines. My favorite that I always use now is southwest. Super friendly staff every time! I'd say the seat size are about all the same for any airline, just my opinion
  17. I totally get it. My surgery is 2/17/14 and I'm flying on Saturday to San Diego because my surgery in Mexico on Monday. Not only am I going crazy wondering if everything with the surgery will be okay but also all I can think about is all of the things I wish I would've eaten before I started my preop diet and what if I'm not able to eat those foods after surgery LOL I know it's such a stupid thing to think about right now. I just have to remember that I am doing this because I am going to be healthy and slim since I'm turning 3–0 this year! Good luck to you! Your date will soon be here!!!
  18. Lol I started trying to do my pre-op diet over a month in advance bc I was worried it would be hard for me to adopt. Honestly it hasn't been too hard especially now as I'm nearing the end of my two week pre-op diet because I'm totally ready for this part of my life :-) i'm going to be 30! It's time to put myself and my health first. Best of luck to you! Can't wait to hear how everyone does after their surgeries.
  19. I like the jar of coconut oil sit in the shower with the lid on while I'm in the shower so the hot steam melts it so it's like oil. Then I apply to my skin after I get out of the shower and dry off. I have noticed a big difference in how soft and moisturized my skin feels.
  20. It's so funny- when I started this thread, I felt like there was nobody getting sleeved in Mexico in February LOL now I see how many people and it's incredible! The countdown is really on for me, I leave on Saturday to go to Mexico and my surgery is on Monday with Dr. Arielle Ortiz. I will be staying at the Marriott in Tijuana while I recover. You will be there at the same time, send me a private message and we can exchange email addresses. I won't be using my cell phone while there but I will be able to send emails or FaceTime.
  21. So close to my pre-op goal of 260. I'm 264 right now, I've lost about 10lbs since last Monday but now I've kinda stalled. I think I'm eating too few calories. In the beginning of last week I was eating about 1000 calories but I'm not that hungry anymore and only eat about 600. Gonna add the greens back in my diet for the next few days and see if that helps lose the last few. I fly out on Saturday for San Diego and surgery is on Monday. Can't believe it's finally here!
