  1. Anyone have any plastic surgery in Mexico? I am not even half way to my goal and wouldn't consider plastic surgery for another year or so but my arms were already very heavy both because I was overweight but also genetically...and now my arms are...gross! I didn't think I would consider plastics after this journey but I would love to wear sleeveless shirts!

  2. How much was the fitbit? You'll have to let me know how you like it. I've been thinking about getting one or something like it for a little while know. I just use my phone for now, but if it's in my purse or not on me it obviously doesn't track. It's a Samsing app, and pretty great, but I'd love something more accurate.

I love mine! It's a constant reminder for me to get in some exercise, even if it's just a walk around a few blocks. I aim for 10,000 steps a day, but some days I don't get that in which case my goal is also to get no less than 5000 steps a day.

  3. Thinking about sneaking a small glass of wine in tonight on date night. I was given the okay and I'm not really a habitual drinker. I'm a little reluctant to ask if anyone has had a little alcohol since surgery just because every forum I've read with the same topic is filled with indignation and it's really annoying to read. This has been been a great group so far so I just wanted to run by you guys what you thought? I figured I'd have a few sips to Celebrate tonight ..thoughts?

I was told by my dr no alcohol for a year, but I actually gave up alcohol all together. Last drink was July 23, 2013 lol I started trying to lose weight last year and it knew alcohol was just a waste of calories. Just my choice :)

  4. Hi, I haven't had my surgery yet, but I am a paramedical Aestheticion which means I work with scar management everyday.Firstly, for the first year after surgery, your surgeon "own's" the scar, and nobody can touch it without his permission. If anyone offer's to, WALK AWAY!!! The first step is to start using retinols (Vit A) on the scars, later you can have microdermabration, and LED light therapy and finally skin needling to break up the scar tissue and make it smoother. The color will get better over time and you will never completely get rid of the scar, but it will definitely look the best it possibly can. The best scar cream I've come across is Beaute Pacifique scars and stripe's, but I'm sure there are lot's of great ones out there. I hope this help you a bit.

Thanks for the response! Definitely not looking for anything that intense with the microdermabrasion and light therapy lol just wanted to know if there's any creams out there. :)

Mederma works really well! My sleeve surgery scars are hard to see. Now I'm working on my month old gallbladder surgery scars. It has a guarantee so if you not satisfied with the results, you can return it and get your money back within a few months.[/quote

Interesting ill have to check it out :)

  5. I wish my boobs would stop shrinking. I wanted them to shrink a little, but they can stop now. I was a 40 DD, now Is can wear a 36 D, and it too almost feels lose. Uggggg. Ha. I I don't want to lose em all!

I for one am happy to get rid of these boobies! I was a 42DDD and now I'm around a 36/38DD or DDD...really I think I'm a DD1/2 lol DDD too big, DD too small!

  6. 3-31-14 240 Easter goal 230 Today weighed 231.2- only 1.2lbs away from my easter goal! Can't wait to be in the 220s!!!!! Gonna work my behind off at the gym this week.

Today I weighed 228.4! I passed my easter goal and still may lose another lb before Sunday! Woo-hoo!

  7. Hello sleevers! I'm starting to experience excruciating lower back pain anytime I sit for long periods of time and try to get up or lie down and get up! It's painful to the point where I am in tears! I am 14 days post op today. Slow weight loss about 7 pounds from my surgery weight. I must admit that I don't always get my Water and Protein requirements in.. Anybody else experience this? I'm going to make a conscious effort to get the min protein and water in.

I was hurting in my back and my hips around a week to two weeks out. I think it was due to all the bloating and water weight after the surgery. I gained 10lbs that first week, and didn't lose all that until the 2nd or 3rd week. I think that's what caused my aches.

  8. I've started the C25k plan. I know there is a forum on this already, I am following it. But I'm curious if anyone has any tips for a newbie runner! I'm still learning...I still have 80 lbs to lose so I'm not in super shape! Lol but tips like- is it better to learn running on treadmill or outside or doesn't matter? Do u eat a snack after running? Does it get easier? Lol

  9. I told my husband and my 3 adult children. I did not tell my parents as I knew my mother would be very opinionated. I also knew that would open up a huge risk if extended family members knowing. It is hard. At the same surgery I also had a hernia repaired so 2 weeks post op, I tell them I am still recovering from this hernia repair. Actually since my dad is also stage 4 lung cancer , I did not even tell them I was going in at all for anything initially. Only when I came home did they fi doubt I had been in the hospital. One of my daughters, who is 23, senior in college, asked me if this was not a little too drastic. The easy way out ?! So, I shut down on talking at all to her about this anymore. I need support and not opinions and judgements !

That's terrible! I hope u do have supportive people in your life. I was worried about my mom so I didn't tell her until after I went down to Mexico to have surgery and came back. It actually turned out great. My mom is so supportive and encouraging, I'm so glad I have her! It was a little rocky at first, she didn't understand my decision but now she is happy for me.

  10. I told my immediate family. But two of them have already told other people. I got so frustrated and mad when I found out. I mean, now people I don't even KNOW now know about my surgery. That is so weird to me. It's none of their damn business. And it's not my family's business to be telling other people. Maybe I'm the only one who feels this way, idk. Just wish I knew why it is so hard to keep it to themselves.

You are not the only one who feels like this! I feel the same way. It's my life, my body and my story to share! My mother has been telling her hair dresser, her coworkers, etc. Everyone just needs something new to gossip about.

  11. Congrats on the weightloss!!! You're doing great! I don't know if you like chocolate but there are "no sugar added" fudgesicles. Also you can take pepperonis and microwave them til they're crispy and they're like chips. SJ had me try that minute maid 15 calorie lemonade and it tastes like a treat.

Interesting! I will definitely be trying that with the pepperoni.

As far as pooping, I take a capsule of magnesium every night and that keeps me regular. My chiropractor recommended it to help relax my muscles and it helps relax all muscles, including your bowels lol sometimes I take up to 3 depending on how I feel that day.

  12. I had a massage on Saturday. My massage therapist is also an acupuncturist (but doesn't practice at the doctor's office I see her at). I was telling her about the stalls and how my weight loss has slowed. She told me about some ancient eastern medicine theory that losing weight causes you to hold on to phlegm and mucus. So she told me she was going to do some extra work on my lymph nodes. She told me I would lose better this week. I'm not sure how the voodoo magic she did workds but after a long stall and then three weeks of losing a pound a week or less, I'm down three pounds since Saturday. Also I am having a constant clear runny nose. I usually get that during my massage and right after. But this has been pretty non stop. It's a little annoying but nothing awful. I'm not sick. So I thought I would share because I think it's interesting.

Wow! Fascinating! Now u know if I searched for a massage therapist with that kind of knowledge or experience I'd never find one lol

  13. I eat fatty stuff and lose the next day. Like sausage and bacon. Or a hot link. Not often, but sometimes. I eat too few calories and stall out. Ugh.

I'm the same way! And I lose more on the days that I don't exercise...last week I only worked out hard for 1 day, lost 4 lbs. the 2 wks before that I worked out an hour a day 5 days a week and barely lose a lb a week. I'm guessing due to gaining muscle? But I think eating something fatty every now and then helps break the routine up.
