  1. I had my surgery on 02-17 and am about 6 weeks post op. My total weightloss is 45 lbs so far! I haven't posted much about my experiences post surgery. It has been hard but this is the best thing I could have ever done! I can cross my legs like a lady now lol... My current weight is 240, I started at 285. I can eat and drink just about anything without difficulty BUT I don't. I follow the diet religiously and am exercising now. First day post op I was drugged up and didn't remember much and my mouth was extremely dry(I couldn't drink a thing)! They gave me these sponges on a stick to moisten my mouth and lip balm. I had a pretty good hospital experience. The first two weeks post op were most difficult for me because of the soreness mostly. By the end of the second week I was done with the liquid diet, just sick of it.

We r total surgery sisters! My surgery was on 2/17, my starting weight was 288 and now I weigh 238!

  2. I had surgery on 2/10. I am loosing so slowly. I am discouraged. I lost 21 lbs before surgery and 27 since my sleeve. I have been so lucky that I have never had pain, gas or nausea. The only thing is that I am still so tired. I take a nap almost every day! My husband is the only one that has even mentioned that he can tell I'm loosing weight. I have been able to get into a couple of pairs of jeans that I couldn't before but I guess I am just impatient! I want to be able to go into Old Navy too!!!

I'm a slow loser too. I had surgery 2/17 and have only lost 20 since then (lost 30 pre-op). But I just keep pluggin away. Was in size 22-24 clothes, 2x and now I'm fitting into 18s and XL.

  3. Nearly 20 days post op ( can't believe it's been that long!) I've been keeping up semi regular posts on Instagram, if anyone would like to follow, feel free :) just comment on a picture with BP so I know to follow back! Instagram- wwled Also, anyone else 22 and sleeved?

I just had the sleeve on feb 17, will be 6 wks out as of tmw! My Instagram is chaychelrachel. I'm 29.

  4. Anybody know what they will do with my money, phone, passport while I'm in surgery? I'm arriving the day off surgery, so I'll go straight to OCC and I'll be doing it alone... it's really my only concern.

I had the same concern when I went last month. I didn't even lock it up I just left my purse and suitcase in my room during surgery I had no problems.

  5. I could really use some positive words right now. My surgery is the 11th and my mom was going to go with me (hubbs is staying home with the four kids) but my sister was just diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer so I insisted my mom go to be with my sister as she begins chemo and has surgery. That leaves me heading to Mexico alone and I'm super nervous. Would really appreciate some positive experiences and advice from those of you who did this solo.

My heart goes out to u and your sister!

I just went to the OCC by myself on 2/17 and had a great experience. The drs and staff r fantastic and u will meet ppl both at the Marriott and at The OCC to befriend. I don't regret my decision at all.

  6. I think I am a slow loser too Sleeved 2-18-14 HW 372 for this journey. But true HW of 393 SW 340 CW 321 I haven't been on a true stall. Because I have had very small lbs lost in the last few weeks. Less than a lb a week. A least it is going down. But I wish for higher numbers lost each week. How much is everyone able to eat at a time now. I am eating about 2 ozs for Breakfast. 3-4ozs for lunch and 4-5 ozs for dinner. I am getting in between 500 - 800 calories a day. 60-80 Proteins a day. And up to 59 ozs of Water a day Sometimes I feel like I'm eating too much. I struggle with getting exercise in. Always have. This is I think my biggest hurdle to conquer. Ugggg

Really I have to remind myself not to compare. I lost 18lbs in 5 weeks. I've never don't that before and that is great! Other people may lose faster, but they will experience stalls too. I'm wondering of I'm eating too many carbs. Having a hard time because I am away for business for an entire week so I am probably eating more sodium and far than usual. I also have to remember this was not a quick fix or a miracle weight loss thing, it's merely a tool. And if I don't eat my Protein first or eat too many carbs or don't drink enough water or don't exercise, then I am not using the tool right. It's a learning process, that's for sure! I'm getting back to the basics...drinking Isopure and Protein Shakes when icant get in all my protein for the day, getting in my water, etc.

  7. One of my "tiny" coworkers started running 5ks. When I lost 91 lbs years ago I found I loved to run! Well I told her after my surgery I wanted to start running 5k and laughed saying maybe one day I could run one with her! Well she has been very supportive the last 2 wks and this morning talked me into running a marathon relay race on June 7. My part would be 3 miles! I am not even sleeved yet and to know she thinks I could be ready to run 3 miles in a RACE ON HER TEAM in basically 2 months after surgery is awesome and scary!! Any thoughts? Is that too soon to commit to something like that? I know it is motivation for me but still... Just some stats for more input help.. I currently weigh appox 235 and am 5'8".

I'm training for a 5k in May. I started doing the C25k running plan and it has really helped! I am 240 and 5'5". Hoping to drop more weight as I continue to train for it :) I was sleeved a month ago.

  8. I had a 2 week stall starting 1 day after my 1 week post op appointment. Although it was EXTREMELY frustrating, I do believe our bodies are in shock for losing weight so fast. I lost 22 pounds in the 2 week pre op + 10 the week after surgery. My surgery date was Feb 19 & I am down a total of 43 pounds. Do your measurements. Even though I wasn't losing on the scale, I was definitely losing inches. I also get my Protein in but struggle with Water. Best of luck to everyone! Just work your plan. I can't wait to see what we have to say in June!!

Same here- sleeved 2/17, down 48lbs (30 preop). I think I've lost more inches in the last two weeks that I've been stalled on the scale.., it's crazy!
