  1. I really don't have an answer to your question. I do know it is not advised.

    Where are the 50s ???

I am 53, will be 54 on July 30th - my surgery date - will be doing this in Mexico - insurance expressly disallows anything to do with weight loss - am really excited would be happy to lose all of my weight - we'll see how it goes
  3. That's excellent we can only hope - I guess i'll have to get rid of my scale - you weren't obsessing about your weight since you woke up from surgery

    New Addition to the Fam

Congratulations to you and your wife!!
  5. My surgery is July 30 in Mexicali Mexico - My insurance prohibits coverage on anything to do with weight loss, so i'm self pay. I got to choose the date, I wanted the 26th but I had to go with the dates we could get the dogs&cats boarded. I can't wait!!
  6. This is the week before you have to start your pre-op liquid diet. I think what you're doing is normal, I know that even though my surgery is at the end of July, I am eating stuff that I know that I'll miss. I'm not doing it every day - but i'm drinking my diet pop, am having my occasional beer, eating smoked sausage etc. This is your food funeral and its all good. Better now than wanting to do it after you're sleeved and committed.
  7. I am probably the last person who should answer this post. Since I am fat, I buy shoes, handbags and stuff for the house. I don't know that I believe that anyone could have too many clothes - I can see myself doing the same thing, but you're so close to your goal - you should probably clear out some for your ultimate maintenance size
  8. You look fantastic - how much have you lost?
  9. If you're in doubt - call your Dr. - if he disallows it - ask for an alternative

    i need pepto!

I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to use pepto --- prilosec otc is given to some people or a prescription strength PPI (proton pump inhibitor) -- keeps the stomach from making too much acid

    Victoria's Secret Semi Annual Sale

I will probably be able to throw mine over my shoulders
  12. At least you can eat veggies and fruit, most people are on liquid only!!

    Diet soda

I don't know how far post op you are - but I would want to make sure that I was good and healed before I tried a carbonated beverage. Like 6 weeks out, or more, it doesn't seem like a good idea. I'm hoping that you posted your desire so that someone tells you NO.
  14. I am so happy for you!! I can relate to the hermit lifestyle because I am one. Can 't wait to get sleeved so that I can be as happy as you are.
  15. I've read about this topic before. I was going to go with just my DL&BC. Changed my mind - we're getting Passport Cards which I think take about 2 weeks. I don't want to get stuck in Mexico.
  16. Wow!! Everyone who shared their pics look fantastic - Congrats to you all!!
  17. Loved the video blog - will be sleeved July 30th - wishing you luck on your surgery and look forward to your future vlog posts

If you can't stand the shakes - try some Isopure it's a clear flavored liquid with 40 g of protein I had it delivered from GNC
  20. To Cookie 2012 - you did the right thing by getting help. It may take a couple of weeks for your medication to kick in, and for you to start feeling better. When you feel better you can see a dietitian, and go out into the sunshine - I know you don't feel like it right now, but please, keep taking the meds and if this med doesn't do the trick, try another one. You've obviously lost the weight because eating and cooking don't appeal to you. I can imagine that cooking is not any fun when you can only eat 4 bites. Please let us know when you're feeling better.
  21. I have hypothyroidism, am obese, and have been chronically depressed off and on for years. I also crave sugar and carbs. I am taking thyroid meds, and two antidepressants - still fat. I truly believe there is a link and I do think that carbs for some reason makes me feel better. The original poster got depressed after her surgery, when you can only eat protein and drink, and later lost all interest in cooking and eating - because when you can only eat 4 or 5 ozs. you can't waste that room with any carbs or sweets - proteins 1st
  22. I love your story - inspirational!
  23. I am going to a surgeon that has never been mentioned on here, so I will probably write about it good or bad (hopefully good for my sake). I just want people to know that going to Mexico is an option -- especially with all the insurance changes that are coming up, coverage for weight loss surgery will be the first thing that employers will dump to cut costs. For some reason, some people think that I am having my surgery in a dusty hut, on a wooden table, with tequila as anesthesia, and disinfectant, oh, and I had to bring my own sharp knife.
  24. Good Luck and quick recovery!!
  25. Thanks so much for showing this - I am planning on a lift with a small implant - just to get back to my 36C that I had been, I also want to have the choice to wear a bra or not - if I go thru all the discomfort I want Perky!!!
