  1. You're in my prayers Indigo. How are you doing?
  2. Thanks Kindle! And bummer! I'm leaving on Thursday afternoon. I wish you well with your surgery!

    Funny moment. Lol

I'm a little worried about that. I broke my tailbone in 2006 and it still hurts sometimes if I sit too long (like through a movie). This could be a problem for me when I lose my padding.

    Day 7! Eat!

I made Biggest Loser turkey chili a week ago for my family. I put what was left through my vitamix and poured it into ice cube trays. Now I have chili in my freezer for when I can have pureed.
  5. I was on the same pre-op Kindle was, I was quite worried going in, maybe more worried about the pre op than I am the surgery! I did just fine. I turned a corner on day 4 as far as hunger goes and it was much easier from that point on. When I was tempted to cheat I asked myself - are you ready to make this major change or not? Compliance with my surgeon's instructions is only the beginning. Following the advice of trained professionals, as well as seasoned members of this forum is only in my best interest. My surgery is tomorrow, I've lost 16 lbs since December 1. You got this! You can do it!
  6. We're leaving for the airport shortly, I'm on my way! Kindle, Haf & Adoptive mom (and anyone else scheduled in MX this week), my name is Sherri Parsons, if you want to get together at the hotel at some point, maybe the Marriott front desk can help us find one another. I have spikey blonde hair, purple glasses and I'll probably be with my husband. Good luck to all and thanks for the experiences of all who have gone before us. Your stories and tips have been super helpful to me! Oh - I lost 16 lbs on my pre op. I have to figure out the tickers now.

    Post-Op Tray Picture

Ke, good luck! You're going tomorrow right? We're leaving for the airport in an hour. I'm down 16 lbs on the pre op, woohoo!

How much did you lose pre-op?

My surgery is Monday, since December 1st I've lost 16 lbs.
  9. Can I just go on the record and say I'd really like a chicken strip? I'd sell my second born for one. That is all.

    Protein find

Salmon burgers are also an excellent source. The Trident Seafoods brand has 20g of Protein per patty. costco sells them, at least in Seattle they do. Super easy to prepare!
  11. I'm on day 12 as well Ke, you are correct, this isn't easy. I haven't had physical hunger as much as head hunger. I skipped a holiday party last night because frankly I didn't want to put myself in a bad position. Why do that to myself? For the same reason I'm not bringing certain foods into the house. I made my husband eat the rest of the orange honey greek yogurt because it was calling me from the fridge I'm sticking to the pre-op pretty well but also have trouble with the Water. I am probably barely hitting my 64 ozs, but yesterday was super busy at work and I probably only hit about 40. Keep on keepin' on, the end is in sight!!
  12. Kindle, HAF & Adoptivemom, I'll be there 12/15 - 12/20. Hope we can all connect!

    Six days out! WOW!

My surgery is Monday. I can't even IMAGINE what a year out will feel like. Guess I'll find out! I'm just thrilled to lose some on my pre-op, it gives me faith that this will work for me.

    Doubting Thomas

Really great question. I've wondered the same thing myself, although I've had some success on my pre-op so far.

    Pre Op Diet Question

I also just started week 2. As of Saturday I am down 8 pounds I had a period of lightheadedness last night but it passed. I'm keeping with my shakes but I'm not that interested in them.
  16. I'm on day 7 of my pre op, 8 lbs down! Miso soup and green tea have been lifesavers. I buy instant miso soup in the asian section at the store, add hot Water. The salty has been a good contrast to the shakes, which I have also lost interest in. I get them down fine but they aren't very interesting!

    Before Surgery ***tom***

So strange, but yes. I have an IUD and don't usually have periods at all. 2 days into my pre-op I started. So odd.
  18. BacktoBarb is it possible the itching is caused by shingles? Have you ever had shingles?

    Omg! Head Hunger!

I'm on day six with liquid Protein, sugar free Jello, broth and leafy greens. I seemed to turn a corner yesterday with the hunger and general feeling of light headedness, it went away. I missed one of my Protein shakes this morning and didn't realize it until lunch. I'm rapidly losing interest in these shakes and am starting to think I need to find an alternative (in case I get to a point where I can't drink one) for post op. I've noticed my gag reflex seems sensitive too - I can't swallow my Vitamins sometimes. Anyone else notice this? Instant Miso Soup has been a lifesaver, the salty is a good contrast from the sweet.
  20. I'll be there the 15th through the 19th. Very exciting!

    No Weight Loss On Pre-Op?

I'm in a similar position, but only on my 5th day of pre-op. I haven't lost anything either. I'm drinking 3 premire Protein drinks a day plus some brocolli or brussel sprouts for dinner. Lots of Water and green tea. Still... no weight loss as of yet. I am wondering the same thing you are!
  22. I just finished day 4 of the pre op. Miso soup and green tea have been life savers.

    Broth, Broth, And More Broth!

I am pre-op day 4, but just walked across the street from my office and picked up some Miso soup from a japanese restaurant. It is saving me today!
