  1. I find it Interesting everyone is so different, I'm wondering what your post op requirements were and your surgeons stats for leaks? I'm 4 weeks of anything I can get through a straw, 4 weeks mushy and 4 weeks soft then normal eating, and my surgeon has never had a leak.
  2. Unjury makes a chicken broth with 20 g of protein in it, it's actually not terrible either. They also have unflavored protein powder you can add to anything.
  3. This is unfortunately not uncommon, our relationships are set up on us being certain people and playing our parts. Weight loss changes that. We always hear that we are still the same people on the inside but it's not true. Weight loss changes your whole life, not all changes are good... Sorry you are having problems with your friend, hopefully she comes around ...
  4. How long did you feel like you had swelling around your stomach ?
  5. I maintained a 100 lb weight loss for 5 years with my Lapband and I'm sorry to tell you part of it never really goes away ill always be the fat girl on the inside... It gets better but part of it seems to stick around ..
  6. I weighed 169 lbs when I had surgery. I had a revision to sleeve from my Lapband of 6 years. Today I weigh 161 which puts me 16 lbs from my overall goal and I'm only 2 weeks out. Your body adjusts to where it needs to be and as someone mentioned the less you have to lose the slower it comes off and the harder it is !! You don't have anything to worry about.
  7. That's crazy ! Tell him to stick it ... You are doing great !!
  8. I had surgery Friday came home Saturday and went to work full days on Tuesday. I was sore and tired but it was manageable.
  9. I'm two weeks out tomorrow, my doc requires 4 weeks of liquids and when the girl in the office across from mine was eating potato chips a little bit ago I found myself wanting to throw something at her!! I had no idea how hard this would be and I really didn't think I would be the type to mourn food since this is my second go round (lapband patient for 6 years) but it's really starting to get to me, nothing sounds good, I really have no appetite but I think its because I realize there is no point. I know it will get easier but OMG ! I hope I don't injure anyone in the mean time!!
  10. Why on earth would lettuce stretch the sleeve ? And yes, it's crazy to see all the differences ! My doc has one of the most strict post ops Iv heard of but I'm afraid not to follow it .. Have you had any issues with upset stomach ? Some things just don't agree with me but I'm not sure if it is from higher sugar content or what causes it ...
  11. Yes on the 20th, and Iv been thinking about salads too .. It's going to be a long 3 months
  12. It will be 3 months before I try salad per my doc. Following my post op of 4 weeks liquid 4 weeks mushy and 4 weeks soft.
  13. I'm 12 days out and it seems some things I eat (drink ) don't agree with me and I get a little sick to my stomach right after eating for about 15 mins or so, I haven't thrown anything up and I'm sticking to what my doc said which was anything I can get through a straw for 4 weeks but I'm having a hard time figuring out what brings this on and what doesn't ? Could it be things that are higher in fat and sugar ?
  14. I had surgery Friday and went back Tuesday. I also had my Lapband removed and a hiatal hernia repair at the same time.
  15. It was day 3 or 4 for me too but I also had the band removed and had some port pain, I use a firm couch pillow to support my stomach while on my side and this has helped a lot !
  16. I was band to sleeve revision on the 20th and I have noticed I feel confused on if I'm actually hungry or what is going on inside me. My doc requires 4 weeks of liquids, 4 weeks mushy, 4 weeks soft so I'm hoping It works itself out over time ..
  17. I waited a week, always very active and continue to be.. I think the week was the longest we've ever gone !! Lol it was a little painful just until we found the right position then all was good !!
  18. I had surgery Friday at noon and went back on the Tuesday. It wasnt too bad, I was sore and exhausted that night but still managed to finish out the week. I also had my lap band of 6 years removed at the same time, the only place Iv had pain has been where they removed my port.
  19. I had surgery one week ago too and Iv also been very lucky with recovery. I went back to full days on Tuesday which may have been a little soon but all and all Iv been okay with the exception of being really tired of an evening. I'm still on liquids for another 3 weeks then move to 4 week of mushy and 4 weeks of soft foods. Glad to hear you are doing well ! Best of luck to you !!
  20. I had band on a Friday and went back to work Monday and had no problems. I really could have used one more day this week . I'm a little sore today and pretty tired but I'm off tomorrow for the weekend so that should help. It worked out okay for me but I would probably recommend most people try for a week off.
  21. I was sleeved on Friday with lap band removal at same time. I went back to work Tuesday with no problems, Just a little sore and tired.
  22. I have all the same except one new which I'm guessing is the one my stomach came out of as its a little larger.
  23. I had my surgery Friday and so far so good. I even went back to work yesterday. I was banded for 6 years and I was not easy on my band!! I was worried the shape it would be in and it did take a little longer to remove but my doc was very happy overall with how things went. Now 4 weeks Of liquids hope things go great for u as well !
