I will be sleeved tomorrow. Woke up today at 4 am with pain in my right leg from yoga's class yesterday night, I think is the tension! I do excited and lind of scared. Casually i learned last night that a neighbor ( my apt building is really small) had a bypass last month and was talking to her for an hour, she telling me about her post op. Of course the sleeve is not so invasive, but it's nice to have a WLS neighbor to whom speak. I will keep you posted. By the way i am beeing sleeved in Caracas, Venezuela.

Hi there, some days ago I started a conversation at the PreOp forum about sleevers with Narcissistic mothers. There are quite a few of us. So I decided to try and open these group so we can share our expericences with our "moms".My name is Maria. I live in Venezuela and I will have my surgery this next Wed, June 12.AS long as I remember my mother was kind of weird, always attacking me and my sister, not physically but verbally. Some years ago, after a lot of years in therapy, reading a lot, I discovered my mother has a NPD.It is the most devastating thing you can have as a kid, as a teenager... as a person.I decided not to telling her I will have the sleeve done because when I was telling to her about the possibilite, she started to discourage me anyway she can. She has told me all of my life that I was obese. (Which I believed until I started looking for pictures from when I was 16 years old and I was not skinny but perfectly normal to thin. When I made diets and loss weight, she used to tell me I was anorexic.. No way to win with her.I am pretty much over her things today as the became a widow last January and her huge anxiety has led her to a cuasi dementia senile state. Not quite because she can always hurt my sister and I with her words. But she is in a very bad mental and physical state.Well friends. Let´s share our experiences regarding this kind of parentes and how this relate with our weight problemas, eating habits and share our things so we can support each other during this huge change in our lives. My mother told me obese since I was a youn teenager and then if i diet, she told me I was anotexic. No way to win with her. When I see pictures of myself at 16 and even when i gave birth to my dons, i was slim but felt obese. I gained a lot if weight in this psdt 10 years am told her about the surgery. She answer to that she thought i was going to fail since " you are not capable of shutting your mouth". So o decided to tell her i am not having the surgery and going without she knowing. Anubody there with a Narcissistic motherbor father?

Me too. I only have to make one day liquid pre op an That is Tomorrow!!! My surgery is first hour on Wed!!!

Thanks to all of you. I decided to tell my mother that i was hired for a job outside of the city for 15 days. Also that I decided to start a new diet so she will think i am loosing weight only because of the diet. Sadly as my dad passed away and she lives 5 min from my home, I am the one that take care of her needs as food, services payment, etc. try to visit with her as short as possible. She is starting senile dementia so she forgets almost everything. I have been in therapy for years and even when i know NPD is an illness, sometimes is just impossible not to feel as if i want to kill her!! Thanks god o have a wonderful sister and lots of lovable cousins who are with me now. Blessings for all of you. My surgey os nect wed. I am so happy!!!

How are June's 12th doing. I just got up at 4 am because i have my last appointment with the doctor before the sleeve day today at 9 am. I started my liquid diet yestarday and at night I was full of gases in my stomach. Anybody hss the same? Is it normal?

Starting my liquid pre op diet today. Just a week ahead!! I so happy an so nervous!!!!

I will pay a little less than 5,000 in Caracas, Venezuela with the best surgeon in my country. It will be self paid

My doctor ask me to stop smoking at least 10 days after before surgery but it is being very difficult because of my nerves. Can anyone tell Me how are you doing with this issue?

I have been smoking since 12 years old. Tried Champix and the nightmares were terrible. Zyban makes me too dizzy, now i am in free nicotine e cigs and its better than nothing. I am dying for acreal cigarrette but my surgery is on June 12th. Hope i can get used to the e cig with no nicotine. I usr Blu cigs

I tried Zyban, Wellbutrin, patches, gum, and even the electronic cigarrette . This last one helped a lot for about 7 months, but then i went back to smoking. Guess i will try again with no nicotine cartridges before surgery. Anybody kept smoking pre and post op?

I have not problem about telling people, my friends, that I will have my suegery . But today, talking with 3 psichoanalist, they thinl ot os better not to tell peopleand just tell them yoiu ate lossing weight with a diet. I am Not the kimd of secretivevperson but would like to know what do you thinl. Are you yelling your friendscand relatives? Thanks

I am from Caracas, Venezuela. Country in crisis with cuban puppet and in deep crisis. At the moment is almost impossible to find toilet paper in supermarkets. Go figure!!!
