  1. My experience wasn't bad. They just had a full house and people should have been released but were kept a second night. Knee and back surgeries I took my dad to forest park last week and I did not think it even compared to victory. Victory is a small, clean and new hospital. Nurses are awesome. My dad will for sure go to victory. Ask to take a tour.
  2. Don't hold me to that. My dad is having surgery and that is what we were told.
  3. I was told that victory is more busy because they are the only hospital that allows the sleeve and hiatal to be done at the same time and filed in the insurance.
  4. The nurse told me he is there by 5:30 am
  5. That sounds right. The day if my surgery I counted 11.
  6. Saturday I went swimming and felt fine. When I got out I was getting dressed and when I bent over I felt this awful pulling/ripping feeling on the left side of my abdomen. My stitch that was causing left side pain already went away a week ago. This is new. So, Sunday it bothered me all day. If I twisted wrong, sat wrong, stood wrong etc. called the on call doctor and he said the take pain meds and call back in the am if it wasn't better. So, this morning I called. The PA said that it could be a pulled muscle. Use the heating pad for a few days and if its not better or if it hurts just sitting there to call back and we will do some imaging. I'm scared to death. Could this be a leak? Pain under left breast about 4 inches down and about 4 inches above the left incision. Will be 4 weeks out this Wednesday. I've followed the diet plan.
  7. Next Wednesday I will be 4 weeks out. I am having this new pain on my left side/abdomen. I called the on call doctor and he said to take pain meds and call back in the am if its not better. I'm freaked out. I think every person worries about a leak. I'm wondering if maybe I bent over wrong and pulled my incision causing it to hurt. Anyone else had this happen?
  8. It must be Natalia. I left her a voicemail at 3 pm one day and she didn't call me back. Finally at 11 the next morning I called back and asked for a different PA. While I was talking to that PA, Natalia beeped in. Lol no thanks! She just doesn't have much personality. I think that's the issue. I'm not one to hate on people but it is her job to be helpful and that she is not. Just my two cents.
  9. For me heather it was painful but not as bad as my c-section. I too had to hold onto the railings in the hospital after my csection. The hardest thing was for after vsg was using the bathroom and getting up and down. That lasted two days.
  10. So, my dad has decided to get the sleeve. The victory medical center has changed their rules and now was a $4,000 fee upfront. So, no longer will they bill you like they are me. Keep that in mind.
  11. I would have never known I had a stitch if the doctor hasn't told me what to expect. It was internal. My entire side and back hurt until it dissolved and released. It was awful.
  12. Way easier! I was in the hospital for 3 days with my c-section and I remember being miserable for another week. With this I was pretty good by day 5.
  13. Sorry for the spelling errors, stupid iPhone!!
  14. You are probably fine. I have the same situation but on my left side. My doctor puts an internal stitch which causes extreme pain until the stitch dissolves. I would call your doctor to double check. My stitch dissolved 17 days after surgery.
  15. I had to go home this plastic thing that I had to take deep breaths in every hour to prevent lung problems. Pneumonia Call your doctor. You have to stay on the safe side.
  16. I'm loving my soft food stage! Tonight I cooked an awesome meal!! Cooked ground chicken Put a thin layer in a dish and mix spaghetti sauce with it. Put a layer of ricotta cheese, low fat mozzarella, Parmesan cheese. Back for 15 min at 400 So good!!!
  17. Lol I'm sorry! I will remove myself from the thread. Personally I find it annoying to have to bounce from thread to thread. I enjoy getting to know a group of people and communicating about our process. Thanks for the heads up! I'll find a thread that is welcoming to any discussion.
  18. It took me over a year to get pregnant with my daughter. I had to take fertility drugs. In my last trimester I developed high blood pressure. I was told it would go away after she was born. 3.5 years later and I'm the same weight I was when I go pregnant (203) and on blood pressure meds and feel terrible. I went to my baby doctor because we want another baby. He said, "I'm concerned you will develop gestational diabetes. You are already high risk as it is with high bp." I told him I was interested in the sleeve. He said to jump on it! I would get pregnant easier than my first and it would be a way healthier pregnancy. So, I did have the surgery to get pregnant. I'm 3 weeks and 2 days post op. I feel amazing!!! Post op 203 Surgery day 187 Now 170
  19. I received a call. Took 4 or 5 days.
  20. Ok three weeks out and get to start my stage 2. It says I can have canned tuna/chicken, ground meats, eggs, yogurt, applesauce, peanut butter etc Anyone else eat canned chicken 21 days out? It scares me.
