  1. Hi, I am 3 months post-op and I lost 40lbs so far. I haven't tried that many shakes yet but I am looking for a shake with the most protein/not that many calories per serving?
  2. Can I take a normal vitamin in a pill form? I am still pre op but trying to prepare all the stuff I will need after. Thank you.
  3. I was the same way. Kept thinking and thinking and to be honest i wasn't even100% sure when they wheeled me to the OR. I am 5 days post op today and I feel fine, just a bit tired. But when it comes to experience with dr ponce and trish- I would do it again in a heartbeat. I drove alone and trish was there every step of the way.
  4. So I got sleeved 06/11. First few days were terrible, lots and lots of throwing up. Got my leak test done 06/13. It came back normal. But now I'm experiencing sharp pains around the left side of my belly button where the huge bruise is(from taking the stomach out). Could that be a leak?

    June 11th!

I had mine 06/11 as well. I am still here in the hospital and fell a little better today but the first night and first day... Oh dear lordy lulu... I thought I was gonna die. So so so much gas pain, kept vomiting all night, didn't get any sleep. Last night was better, being released today. Going to the hotel for one night and then off back to California. I am just really anxious about what's next...
  6. Ok, I know this is not the question you might wanna see here... my surgery is this coming Tuesday and my worst fear is not waking up aka dying over there. Are there any stats on how many ppl ever died during this procedure? Or after?
  7. Thank you! So I am 27 years old, 5'7 and 260 lbs. My surgery is in mexico with dr ponce de leon. I asked his patient cordinator and she said nobody ever died and that he has done thousands of these surgeries. I guess my chances of seeing my husband and baby again are high
  8. Thank you! How long ago did you have yours?

    Liquids

My surgery is 06/11 and my pre op instructions were water and yogurt 3 days before surgery. You guys have it way harder than I will... I guess I'm kinda worried if my diet isn't too "light"?
  10. I bought this (the name in title) today but now I'm reading that we need calcium citrate? This one is calcium carbonate. I assumed that its citrate (I was rushed by my screaming toddler) since its called citracal! So no calcium carbonate post op? What's the difference?

    California? Anyone...ツ

Costa Mesa, CA in Orange County. Surgery scheduled for 06/11 with Dr. Ponce de Leon in Tijuana, Mexico.
  12. What do you mean by saying tou cut 18 years of life?
  13. Hello sleevers, So my surgery is 06/11. I was just wondering if I should start buying some stuff for after? What should I buy? Suggestions? My doctor will give me all of the post-op instructions after i have the surgery but I like to plan a little ahead, thats just me... What do I need to get? Suggestions for shakes? I heard that isopure unflavored is a safe choice.. ?
  14. Hello everyone, I am scheduled for 06/11 in TJ, Mexico. I couldn't afford to spend $ 21 k to do it over here. I am going by myself, my husband cannot come with me. I am terrified. Keep wondering if this is a right choice. I keep thinking maybe I should diet on my own again. But I have done it before so many times... Lost 50, gained 40, lost 40, gained 50... I am 27 and am I afraid that I will regret this drastic change. Does it mean I will never be able to go to a restaurant and order a normal meal? How long will I be in pain? Will I be ok in Mexico all by myself? Every time I think about the whole thing I get nauseous, I can't sleep at night... I am 5'6 and 255 lbs so I have over 100 lbs to lose. I have a high blood pressure and extensive family history of diabetes and heart diseases. I have a one year old daughter that I love more than anything in this world, she is our miracle baby... I have no choice but to lose this weight. But is this the right way for me? How did you know? How were you sure? Oh, and I know this is stupid, but my worst fear is the surgery itself. What if something goes wrong? sick to my stomach...
  15. I feel like we are in the same boat... I havent told anyone except my husband and I will be going by myself...

    100 Pounds Down!

your post gave me hope, i could feel your joy and pride. Congratulations, from the bottom of my heart. I am scheduled for 06/11 and I am not gonna lie, I am having doubts. But you just made me realize that I am making a right decision. Thank you for sharing.
  17. Hello all post-surgery members, I am stil pre-surgery (06/11!!!) and I was wondering how soon can you get in the pool after your surgery? I mean how long does it take for the incisions to close up? I obviously don't want to catch any infection...

    Dr. Ponce de Leon?

I'm scheduled with them for 06/11! We need to meet
  19. Not worrying about not living long enough to see my baby grow up. Not worrying about possibly getting diabetes or heart disease (runs in a fam) Get rid of my high blood pressure Not thinking about what others think of me every time I eat out. Take more pictures of myself. I always photograph others. Go back home for christmas and see the look on people's faces when they see me! Shop in normal size aisle, not even look at the plus size all the way back in the store. Buy cute lingerie for my husband without feeling stupid and ugly. Not to sweat so much in the summer. Buy a really expensive pair of jeans that would make my butt look amazing. Wear high heels with no problems. I own like 60 pairs of heels and they just patiently wait in the closet. So, so, so many things... it makes me wanna cry for some reason. 06/11 is so close.
  20. Hi everyone, I am still kinda new to this community but I am hoping you can give some hopeful advice. So I am being sleeved 06/11. I will be home 06/14 in the evening and will have my husband with me for the following weekend. My question is: I have 1 year old daughter and i have no one to help me. We don't have any family here, so I will be with the baby by myself as usual. So i read multiple posts but they give such a broad recovery times that I am confused. The paperwork I received says do not lift anything for 4 weeks. Well, we all know its impossible not to lift when you care for a toddler. She is 24 lbs and mostly walks everywhere but there are still stairs and picking up to and from playpen/bathtub/highchair. Will my staples open? How did you do it?
  21. So I have received instructions for my pre-op diet but they are very vague. IT says 3 days before to eat only yogurt and drink water only. What type of yogurt? How many a day? Anyone with similar instructions? What did you do?
