I also belong to another board on obesityhelp.com, the AZ board! There was someone there telling about a Dr. Juarez in Phx. She told the Dr. that she was 90% sure she wanted the band and he told her that the band was only for the younger and very active people who wanted to lose only 40-50 lbs. WHAT??? So I told her about our group and how many successful people were here. Then others piped in saying that Bandsters don't lose weight like RNYer's do! No, we don't but that's a good thing!!! WE DO IT THE HEALTHER WAY!!! Well, I told them what I thought and that you could lose as much weight as you wanted with the BAND. I don't think I will be alowed back there. But that's OK because I don't want to go back there! I have you all here! Who need them anyways. OMG I don't really know why that made me sooo mad, but it did. I quess it is just one of those weeks for me. Yes it is PMS time. I love you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ((((HUGS))))

Well the flowers showed up today and the florist called my mother to say how sorry they were. They asked HER if she still wanted the flowers!!!!! OMG I have already called the credit card company and the florist. The florist said it was her fault and she was very very sorry. The flowers they sent were BIGGER AND BETTER than what I ordered. It was the florist fault not 1800flowers but I am not sure If I will use them again or not. I have a hard time going to the florist shop to get flowers because I walk with crutches and I can't carry them. They help to the car but then there is no one to take them into the house. Denise, I have NO regrets at all about my Band!!!!!!! I love it! I did a lot of research before deciding on the band. I knew that the bypass was not for me. I was banded in Nov 04 and am down almost 50lbs. I have never felt better! I am one of the lucky ones and have had NO complication at all. I have had 3 fills so far and am at a very good restriction now. Welcome to LBT and good luck,

I ordered flowers for my Mom for Mother's Day on 05/03 to be delivered on 05/06 Friday. Well they never came. I gave them another day because they said sometimes they are so busy on holidays that they can't deliver on the day you request. I thought OK, because Mother's Day isn't until Sunday anyway. Well here it is Monday night and still NO F___ING FLOWERS!!! I called them this morning and they said they were sorry and I would get 20% off and a coupon for 20% off of my next order. They said everything would be taken care of and she would have flowers today. NOT!!!! I just talked to them again and they dont really know why this happened but I would now get 50% off and a coupon for 50% off next order. (like I will use them again) Again they are sorry and the flowers will be delivered tomorrow! We shall see!!!! It' 1800flowers.com and I don't know what local shop they use. I will find out and let them know how upset I am. Sorry to vent to all you but I had to talk about it or eat so you all got the receving end of my venting!

Rhonda, What kind of band do you have? I have a Vanguard 10cc band and my first fill was also 3cc. Had very little restriction until 3rd fill. I have to admit that I don't know what cc's I'm at right now because My surgeon and I differ. I'm sure he is right and I will find out the correct cc's soon.

I am a royal BIG MOUTH when it comes to my surgery. I love to talk about it to anyone who will listen. I started out saying I would not tell a single person but my mother. That did not last long at all. Everyone at work soon found out and then I sent out a e-mail to ALL my family telling them all about it. But I understand that it is a very personal decission and not everyone wants to tell.

I had my surgery Nov 19th and my first fill of 3cc's on Dec 22nd.

I was sooooo excited those 2 days before the big day!!! Good luck to you and I will be praying for a fast recovery for you!! (((HUGS)))

Dr. burried mine pretty deep, can't feel it and he can't do a fill without flouro. He said as I lose weight it would start to show itself! Mine also is not by my port incission (thought it would be) It is to the right of it about 2". At least that is where the needle prick is after a fill.

Guitarman, I also have the Vanguard band. I had 3 fills before I felt a GOOD restriction. Hang in there. I just had my 3rd fill last week and WOW do I have restriction!!!!!!!!!!! It's great!!!!

I am 5 months post band and have not lost any hair. Well, only on my legs and underarms! LOL! I take chewable vits morning and night as directed by my surgeon.

Thanks all, I have not taken more than 4 steps at one time but I can now make it all the way across the grab bar matt. 4 steps, stop for a second (so I don't fall down ) then off again! You should see my arms fly when I take the steps without holding on, I look like I am getting ready for take off. LOL I went in for my fill on Tuesday this week and showed everyone there. My nurse started crying. My Dr. gave me a big hug. I had a pretty big crowd because I am the first bandster there and everyone wants to watch Dr. B do the fill. So there were plenty of congratulations going on. I don't have a appt. with my Neuro yet because I don't have to see him but once a year. Maybe I will go see him just to show off!
