After feeling like a Yo-Yo one too many times, I went to an open seminar about weight lose surgery on February 14, 2013.
Let me start at the beginning, backing up to the year before this point. In October of 2011 at the weight of 302 pounds I started weight watchers. This would be my second attempt at weight watchers, but it had worked before so I was willing to give it another try. From October to January 2012 I lost weight and decided I could do it on my own and quit weight watchers. Watching what I ate and walking daily with Leslie Sansome Walk at Home videos the pounds continued to drop. By June of 2012 I was down to 235 and feeling pretty good.

Along with the summer hot weather came the lack of desire to exercise. Along with eating fresh fruits came evening trips with my husband to the local frozen yorgurt or ice cream shop. The combination of bad food choices and lack of exercise continued and before I knew it the weight was coming back on.

In January of 2013 I was experiencing left knee pain. I went to the orthopedic Doctor and it wasn't anything serious, just a sack of fluid that would heal, But his words to me were that with my weight it wouldn't be long until he would be seeing me for knee replacements. Having seen my mom go through having two knees replaced, it wasn't what I wanted to hear. Plus at that appointment having to stand on the scales and seeing that I now was back up to 270 pounds was a real awakening.

How many times was I going to lose weight and regain it????

Then I saw the ad in the newspaper for a informational seminar for weight lose surgery. It was scheduled for Valentines day of all days. So I talked to my husband and asked if he would attend with me before going out for dinner on Valentines.

February 14, 2013 I nervously walked into a room filled with about 75 people for a night that was going to change the direction of my future.

Starting a six month insurance require waiting period the days started the count down leading toward surgery. After meeting with my surgeon I decided on the Sleeve Gastrectomy. I have met with my nutritionist once a month and have learned which foods I should be eating. I have met with that support group and took full advantage of talking to people who have already had the surgery. I have met twice with the exercise physiologist for strength building advise. I have met with Behavioral Medicine Specialist. and I am proud to say I have completed all the steps to meet my Health insurance companies requirements. And best of all I have dropped 45 pre surgery pounds! Weighing in at 225. Now I am waiting for a phone call in the next three days with my surgery date. The journey is becoming a reality!

I can't say enough about Leslie Sansone's Walking DVD's! They have walked the pounds right off of me. They are fun and they can be done right in your living room regardless of the weather outside. I now have core strength!
