    Surgery without telling anyone?

I am 4 years post op. I only told a hand full of friends and family. I have no regrets! I've seen a few of my friends that have been open about it and the judgement that comes with it is too much for me. People are always saying that they took the easy way out. Or they cheated. And that is so far from the truth. I worked out 2x a day and worked very hard to stay on track. Lots of sweat and tears. So I'm not giving them the power to take away my hard earned accomplishments. I've worked very hard to lose and maintain my weightloss. Its non off their business anyway!

Where are the June 2013 sleeves now?

I've read it's normal to gain weight a few years after surgery. I was very aware of that and always kept it in mind so I wouldn't do it. I'd maintained and done great until this past year. I've gained about 15lbs. Because I was very anemic. Family and friends pressured me to eat more. Now i feel like my stomach has stretched. I crave more food and feel hungry faster. I can't seem to get back on track. So I read in a blog somewhere about a 10 day pouch reset diet. (Very similar to post- op surgery diet.) Hope it helps me get back on track and lose what I've gained. I'm on day 3... praying it works!!

Insurance exclusion but still approved for surgery

My insurance has wls specifically excluded in the policy. I my doctors office billed for a hernia repair (which was needed) to cover half the cost. I financed the rest. They said most overweight people have that kind of hernia.

    Pickle Cravings

Seriously can't believe so many people had the same craving. I had the same craving. I couldnt eat the pickle but I did drink about 2oz of the juice. It was like heaven. Once I did it I felt so much better!!! Lol

    falling apart

  8. I am 5 weeks post op and am already feeling defeated. I just need to vent. So excuse the rant. I lost 18lbs in 3 weeks and have lost only 5 lbs in the last two. Then I get on the scale today and notice that I have gained 2lbs this week. I don't feel really restricted when I eat. I am almost jealous of the people that say they can't eat anything. I can eat a 3oz chicken breast very easily. I feel like I am also retaining a lot of water. My feet are swollen and I have no idea why. The psychological part of this whole process is the hardest. I feel like its a constant battle with my brain telling me i need too eat something and my body not really feeling hunger. Then there are days that I feel this crazy head hunger and I want to eat everything in sight even when I take anti-acid meds. This process has really tough and now I have learned that I am fat solely my fault. Breaking these mind games is so hard!!

    Hunger

I am 14days post op. I have no appetite. I have rumblings, gas and feelings that resemble hunger but if I take an anti-acid it reduces that feeling. It is a lot easier after surgery. I think that the hardest is the mental part. I want to eat just because I know that its delicious and my mind is telling me I want it. Its not physical at all! I actually drink water and protein shakes but its hard to get them down. Taste buds change too. Nothing to me tastes the same.

    Food

I was sleeved on 6/3. I can't say that I'm craving any foods. I haven't had anything but Water and Isopure. Even though the isopure has 40g of Protein per bottle, it takes me 3 days to finish one. I've lost 12lbs post-op. Haven't had much pain but definitely low on energy.
  11. I'm 4 days post op. And I can see why you would think that those pains are hunger pains. But I took some gas-x and an anti-acid more regularly and the pains subsided. I also drink Water or Isopure 1oz every 15 min. It helps a lot. Just my experience, hope it helps!
  12. I was sleeved on June 3rd. And tried drinking some broth today. It was so salty. And my isopure which I didn't like prior to surgery tastes much better! I can already feel changes and I'm loving it. I hope it lasts!
