    Indiana Sleevers

Question for my fellow StV or IU sleevers. What were you eating the 1st week post-op? My list includes low fat cheese, beans, instant mashed potatoes, and oatmeal. Were you able to tolerate these week 1?
  2. Does burping help the pain? I have pains in my stomach either when I move around too quickly or drink. But I burp and it's feels a lot better

    Vomitted yellow

I'm a pharmacist and we are pretty crappy patients too! Lol. Know just enough to be dangerous
  4. I'm right there with you ladies! These sleeves better settle down soon! (At least I hope so)

    Potassium crisis!

Potassium can be replaced quickly. Also, drinks like ensure and slim fast have a ton of potassium. Can you have those on your pre-op diet. I would avoid potassium pills...you can get too much potassium and cause other problems. Maybe drink a slim fast or two and wait to eat from your doc. Even if you don't hear from them until Monday, you'll be able to replace it by Tuesday
  6. This is a brilliant idea! Making some tomorrow!!

    3 days post op

I am three days out too and am having the same issue! I don't know if I'm not sipping correctly...maybe too much? I'm hoping it goes away soon

    Indiana Sleevers

Hi all! I'm doing well. Home from the hospital after 2 nights. Struggled a lot with nausea the first 24 hours. Had some chicken broth and apple juice for dinner. Working on a Popsicle now. Think tomorrow I will switch to some full liquids and see how I do For those post op- couple of questions. When did you stop wearing ur support socks. And also when did you start protein drinks? I'm still struggling getting liquids in. It seems I suck at sipping and get painful gas bubbles a lot. Does this go away? Any trick you can give me?
  10. Ok...so I'm an addict! I love diet coke, especially McDonalds diet coke...it tastes the best! But I am just about 2 weeks pre-op (surgery date 7/1) so I decided it was time to go off caffeine! And boy do I have a headache!!!! And for headaches I usually take IBU and no IBU before surgery! I just can't win! Lol. I know this is for the best and I'm going to be giving up a lot more and be in more pain than this but right now I just really want a diet coke! I am determined to do all this by the book so goodbye to diet coke! Thanks for being my friend for all these years! But it's time for me to go on without you and start this new chapter in my life...to a healthier me!
  11. Ahhhh! So much to do in so little time! Trying to finish up last minute things for work! Then trying to get on the road..3 hour drive to Ohio! My bridal shower tomorrow and my best friends baby shower Sunday (I was smart enough to plan it at panera where I can have a nice strained soup). Then back late Sunday night to pack! I have to be at the hospital at 11:30 for a 2pm surgery! I look forward to our chatting late Monday evening to see how everyone is doing!
  12. That made me laugh...because it perfect describes how I'm feeling!

    July 2013 sleevers

I actually took your advice, Vixynne from a post early last week and started on sublingual B12! It has really helped me with giving up my caffeine! I recommend it as well
  15. Anesthesia is given via IV. You will also probably be given oxygen via a face mask

What do you do post op?

I'm curious what kind of exercise everyone does directly post op. I know walking is a gold standard but what else are you able to do and when?
