    What do I do now?

How devastating!!! They didn't look into this beforehand?!?! Call your surgeon and see if he/she can write a letter of medical necessity?
  4. think of your poor liver. It's been through so much with surgery, getting used to a whole new world. I know a glass or 2 of wine once in a while is good for you (especially, organic red) but if you can't stop with that, maybe try to give it up?? I know you're thinking "Give that up too?" I already can't eat!!!!" Are you sad? depressed? frustrated? If you are, never drink. And, I hope you do think I'm judging, because I truly am not. I worry for ya, that's all. Maybe you could drink coconut waters with just a spritz of wine at the top to fade it out?
  5. Ditto. I was so excited, the first week, I lost 11 pounds!!! Then, got horrible acid reflux and was put on Reglan, still following the plan but gained 3 pounds. I cried. But, I am going to continue on the journey and tell the surgeon on Thursday and maybe she will switch the meds (hopefully it's just the meds). It's such a bummer to work so hard, get excited to get on that scale and not only did I not lose, I gained!!!! So, you are way ahead of me , my friend <3 Keep up the great work!

    Hi everyone!

I don't know about the doc or anything just wanted to send ya a hug and say you will do GREAT!!!!!
  7. Thanks Girls!!! I am a little less upset now!!! I try so hard... DON'T WE ALL??? I will chill. Hopefully next wee I will lose a little <3
  8. Well, I am 12 days out today. AT the 7th day I started with horrible acid reflux, horrible painful lava coming up my esophugus. fun. Finally called my surgeon's cell and she called in Reglan. And said I can take zantac (in between) . Well, I am also on the stupid blood thinner for a few more days. I have completely stopped losing weight. I even gained 3 flippin' pounds. I am hoping it is just all the toxic medicine. I had been put on Cymbalta for a car accident (pain) and gained 80 pounds in 6 months (prior surgery) WHILE DIETING!!!!!!! Uggggg!!! *sigh* SO, I know my body doesn't handle meds well. So, here are my questions... 1. Did anyone have to go on acid blocking meds since sugery? Were you able to get off of them? 2. Did you all just lose, lose, lose, your first few months? Did anyone "stall" or even gain this early out? 3. Could you please encourage me, I am so upset and doing all the "right" things. 4. How long did you have to take Lovenox or your blood thinner after surgery... the shot makes me feel queasy and like I have to lay down after.

why have I not blogged in a while? well lemme tell ya!

Here this will make you feel better... I waited since 4/2010 to get sleeved, got it on 6/12/13 and now I'm not losing weight!!!! I had it and am stuck!! NOT eating sugar, not eating carbs, startch... eating stupid egg dropped into organic chicken brother, low fat cottage cheese and other stupid, boring foods that don't even fill me... and I have stopped LOSING!!!! Talk about frustrated!!!! I don't drink caffeine, don't smoke, don't eat bad foods.... I feel ya!!!! *pitty hugs for us*
  10. Girls, (who posted above), when was it ok to move to puree then to softs then to food?
  11. I'm like you newlife!! It feels I have no restriction, I am hungry and able to eat a lot (pureed foods) and protein shgakes. I am only 10 days out. I sure hope after my tummy heals , I get that "full" feeling. I still have never had that
  12. It blows my mind reading everyone's posts here on VST and the Sassy Sleevrs group on Facebook, HOW COMPLETELY DIFFERENT everyone's pre-op diet is/was. What is your's? I have heard everything from clear liquids for 2 weeks to liquids for a week and clear for 2 days, to lowcarb, sugar free, with 1 day clear liquids. Could you please tell me what was ordered for you? Thanks!!
  13. Ok everyone, I am going in tomorrow morning. Surgery set for 7:30 am. I am asking that the praying people pray for me. I have a 19 year old guy with autism expecting me to come home! *hugs* PS~ I did not do Clear liquids for 2 weeks as suggested. I did get off caffeine, drank nothing but filtered Water with organic lemon in it, ate small meals of lean Protein and a green (spinach/broccoli) and yesterday and today Clear liquids plus 1 Protein shake for Breakfast. I also took cayenne pepper, turmeric, Vitamin C and milk thistle to clean the liver. (except today & yesterday, just fluids). I will let you know if it worked! Thanks for praying!

  17. Honestly, it's no one's business. (Treu) You can say you and the doctors have concerns about your digestive system and severe food allergies. (True) We ARE allergic to GMO's, Sugar, pesticides, refined & starchy carbs. (ALL TRUE, that is why we are fat. Our body does not metabolize them properly and cause terrible side effects. (again TRUE, obesity and irregular hormones.) And, you have been over-whelmed with questions about your health (true) so you'd rather stop talking about it. You are getting labs, an endoscopy, seeing a nutritionist (again ALL true) and you are starting all over with foods. (true again) Then, after surgery, they won't wonder why your diet is so small and weird. AND, bonus, you don't have to lie. You can even have a comprehensive food allergy panel done if you'd like Overall, people are nibby and nosey and usually want to know others' business so they have more things to talk about.

    almost a month

Can you just have anything (low carb, low sugar) and puree it in a blender and keep adding water until the correct consistency? I'd get some yummy soups and just puree the chunks. Congrats on your weight loss!!!! Are you hungry??
  20. Hi Pixie!!! The end of your post brought tears to my eyes. My guy is turning 19 and still so sweet & loving. He doesn't cuddle really anymore without saying, "Moooooooooommmmmmmmmmmm! I'm not a baby anymore!" hahaha BUt his sweet spirit has stayed the same. I am glad your guy is doing well and has some good supports. <3 Welcome!!!!

    Dizziness

I don't have advice, I deal with that stuff now.. I think it is a change in blood pressure? Do you have a BP cuff at home? Can you get it checked? I really just want to say AWESOME JOB and how exciting!!!!!

    Drains?

I hear the best results seem to be the patients that have the drains removed in the hospital and then their surgeons close them up with some sort of liquid glue. That sounds much better! I am not having those dig dag drains hanging out of me for 2 weeks! I'll lose my mind. (What little is left!!)
  25. Gosh! I am getting the sleeve to add years to my life, not cut them down ALSO< Girls, how did you get to get the B12 shot? That is so good for you? Do you have to pay cash for it? How much is it? Sorry for so many questions but I haven't even had the sleeve yet and know I need these shots. But, insurance won't cover them anymore.
