  1. Not sure how far post op you are but this happened to me up to 3 weeks post op. It diminished over time and now 6 weeks post op it rarely happens.

Thank You!! I was sleeved on June 25th! I was doing really well with getting my fluids and Protein in, but this pain makes me not want to drink anything! Ugh guess I better get over it! Maybe the more I drink the better it will get!

  2. See if you can find a local Vietnamese place that has Pho' date=' (pronounced fuh) It's a broth with rice noodles, and it comes with thai basil, peppers, and bean sprouts. You mix the raw veggies into the super hot broth and let them steep. Most places have an option of a container of "extra broth" and it's sooo good. It comes without noodles, or the option of meat, but is tasty, and I found it very filling when I was recovering.[/quote']

Wow that sounds amazing!!! I'm on it! Thank you!

  3. I come from a long line of committed carnivore so I do not understand the subtleties of vegetarianism. How is seafood ok on a vegetarian diet? just curious

Well I guess the new term for me would be pescatarian! I don't eat any land animals! Funny that they have a name for that now! Usually when I say I'm a vegetarian people say "do you eat chicken"? Haha

  4. They have been great on the full liquid phase! I'm a vegetarian so I had veggie and bean curd Soup and today I had seafood soup! The seafood Soups is wonderful! It's a clear broth, but full of veggies and seafood! I think I'm going to purée the seafood and put it back in since I can handle cream soups just fine! Great Protein I'm sure!! Oh it even has egg whites!

  5. are you on any bp meds? could be your bp is too low' date=' if you are. otherwise, probably dehydration. call your doc! <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />[/quote']

No, not on bp meds. I've been doing ok with the Water, but I think I've concentrated so hard on the Protein that I've neglected the Fluid (even though they are kinda one in the same right now) haha almost finished a whole water bottle and already feeling better!

  6. Well' date=' I made the mistake of going 5 days after surgery!! I didn't plan on riding rides just to pick up passes but of course, my young children wanted to ride everything! We stayed too long, it was too hot and I walked too much that day although I didn't ride any rides. However, with all that being said - I'm sure at 6 weeks, you'll do great! I think... if it hurts, don't do it. Just choose your rides selectively. Maybe ones that don't put a lot of pressure on your tummy.

    Have fun![/quote']

5 days!!!!! I'm 8 days out and I can't even wipe myself! Haha

  7. Heating pad! I went to Myrtle Beach on day 3 after my surgery with my new best friend the Heating Pad and pain meds' date=' I even walked around and shopped a little and rode around Myrtle Beach.[/quote']

Thank You! I will try that! This pain is awful! Never quite know what movement will bring it next! Haha

  8. I am 3 weeks post op today & just starting to feel better. I went to my post op visit yesterday & am still swollen' date=' but doctor said it was normal. I wish I was like many who have speedy recoveries, everyone is different.[/quote']

Thanks so much this made me feel much better!!

  9. I am a week and a day post op! I was really hoping to be up and at em by now, but I still have such pain in the main surgery area that I still can't even wipe myself(sorry TMI) if I get up and move around it does ease up and I think I'm on the mend, but it never seems to get any better! I'm supposed to go back to work on Friday(my choice, I am a nail tech) but I don't think I'm going to be able to do it! Did anyone else have this searing pain and any tips in how to get rid if it?

    Thanks so much!

  10. Hey everyone! We made it to the losers bench!! I was wondering if anyone else was still having significant pain at your largest incision site? My husband still has to help me get out of bed' date=' go to the bathroom, up and down in the recliner..etc. He goes back to work on Monday and I'm worried about getting around on my own. Other than this I am doing fantastic! Any thoughts would be helpful!![/quote']

Yes yes and yes!!!! I was only given a few days of pain meds too! It hurts so bad getting up and down! Like your incision is ripping apart! Once I get up and moving for a few minutes I feel much better. I had surgery on Tuesday and really wasn't expecting to be in this much pain still! I guess I underestimated the pain of having most of your stomach removed!!! Haha when were you sleeved?
