    Broke 300

    That's fantastic! Congrats!
  2. I think you have to really answer this question for yourself. Do you really want to go or would you appreciate having an acceptable way out. The truth is that by the wedding date you should be more than fit to travel. You shouldn't be in pain more than a twinge here a there and you shouldn't be that tempted by the dinner, cake or booze. They certainly aren't a reason to miss a special occasion, not if it is special to you. I don't think it matters that its his second wedding and you've already attended one for him. Its still his big day. You can be prepared to make it is painless as possible. You can keep a supply of what you can have handy. If a sit down meal is served and that bothers you take that time to excuse yourself and rest somewhere or take a walk. Reappear after the meal in time for the remainder of the celebration. If you really don't particularly want to go you can easily get out of it just by saying you're sorry but not quite up to the trip yet. It really just depends on what you really want.

    EKG vs Stress Test

I have had stress tests, both physical ( treadmill) and injection. Both were done based on my history and on other testing. My heart shows scarring from previous heart attacks. For my sleeve surgery I did not need to have another stress test. I'm not a medical person but I think it only shows them how your heart reacts to sudden high rise in heart rate. If they thought you were at risk they would have ordered it. Since your cardio Dr cleared you I wouldn't worry. Those other people just likely have different health histories than you do.
  4. I kept ice chips in my mouth and swallowed as it melted. I got lots of water in that way without feeling like i had an enormous burp behind each one like with sipping.

    New Protein Drink!

I tried so hard to find these today but I guess my little 1'horse town doesn't sell Shamrock Farms
  10. That would scare the crap out of me! I would call the number on my card and talk to them directly. You should know exactly what your part will be before you get it done. I would also want to know first hand what their pre-auth requirements and guidelines are because I wouldn't want to find out later I hadn't complied with all of them.

    HELP!?

I swallowed pills the same day. Small pills or larger ones cut in half. Day 1-3 was tough swallowing water. The easy fix for that is to keep a large cup,of crushed ice or ice chips near you and suck on it all day. I got all of my water in easily that way. You'll do fine.

    Smoking !

I see that you are willing to accept the health risks. That's your choice. For me, even if I could accept the risk of cancer, ulcers or damaged cells I would never use anything that is notorious for causing munchies. Not now.

The difference between lose and loose...

Hey, it really wasn't all that big a deal. I appreciate you reconsidered and understand what I was saying and I don't think that you're mean. I don't think that anyone that agreed with you is mean either. If I had thought you were trying to be mean my response and tone would have been altogether different. Had it not been for the person I mentioned I wouldn't have said anything. For her it isn't typos. She just quite simply cannot spell and has spent her lifetime trying to improve. She honestly did talk to me about it one day. I had suggested she come here to read and ask questions on the Pre-Surgery area. She did and was ridiculed. Of course she never came back. I was going for a gentle reminder about feelings because I know how hers were hurt that way. I apologize if it came out differently.

It'll pass soon as the swelling goes down. Just sip all day and follow your Drs plan.

The difference between lose and loose...

OK, not a problem. You put it in the Rants section because you can. I voiced my opinion on it because I can. No biggy. I just don't think its cool to be mean or hurtful to others and its certainly not funny. Just my opinion and I'll bet the world will continue to spin even though it differs from yours. Its all good.

omg my stomach tried to kill me last night!

That's what happened to me before surgery fairly often . For me the fastest cure is to drink about 1/2 cup cold milk.

    High risk ?

Its very common to do both. I would be looking for another surgeon for a 2nd opinion if he can't give me very good reasons because unless there is something unique to your anatomy it can be done. More $ for him to separate, much less money and only 1 anesthesia for you if done together.

The difference between lose and loose...

I come off here as a lousy speller. The fact is that my ipad for reasons of its own changes my spellings. it joins words, drops letters. changes spellings and adds/deletes caps at will. If there is spell check on it I have yet to discover it. Sometimes I click "post" without first checking it. I used to be mortified when later I would look back on it and see the terrible typos, including loose-lose. Now, not so much. This is a help forum and there are people from many backgrounds and levels of education here. I do think it's kind of mean to point out the grammar mistakes of others in a help forum. Some people have issues they struggle with and those people should be able to ask or answer a question without fear of being ridiculed. I personally know someone that would get a great deal out of this forum and be able to contribute greatly due to her unique history but will not try. She came and read through many threads and decided that it wasn't worth the risk of embarrassment. She shouldn't have to feel that way, not in the adult world.
