    Diet soda

I haven't had surgery yet but sodas, including diet Sodas were the only Thing my dr told me was off limits forever. That was 6 weeks ago. Since that day I have traded my 10 can per day diet dr pepper habit for Kool-Aid with stevia. It was a tough first week but I did it. I can say I won't have it again because he spoke so strongly but if he hadn't I would sure try after 2 months or so. I would at least give things a good amt of time to heal well first. I am not happy about it but I am happy to be able to stop putting aspartame in my body all day long.
  3. I say "this surgery certainly isn't for everyone. I hope you'll be able to get yourself to a normal and healthy weight on your own if you don't think it's for you." Of course, that only works if they are overweight but even if they only have 20 lbs to lose they appear to be finished running their mouth after hearing it.

  5. Submitted to Anthem on Thursday, approved on Tuesday. Probably would have been approved Monday but it was a holiday. Talk about fast! I hope it goes as smoothly for the rest of you.
  6. My paperwork was submitted to Anthem BC BS on the 29th. I'm holding my breath and crossing fingers and toes for a good outcome. Like you I have wondered about all the time and money already spent just jumping through the hoops. I hope someone with experience responds.

    Did anyone smoke after surgery?

I'm not quite sure how you can say "not dumb enough" and "no offense" in the same sentence. I have smoked for 40 years. When I started smoking there were no warnings about it. Most of the adults I knew smoked and it was natural for me to do it too. That doesn't make me dumb, just unaware. Fast forward 30 years and I found myself at my mothers bedside as she died from smoking. Did that make me quit? No. That didn't make me dumb either, it made me very addicted. I am happy to say that I have not smoked in 2 weeks. I do not intend to smoke ever again. I did it with e cigs which I tapered down the MSG on. I am pretty much over it now, only puffing on one a couple of times a day(from a 3 pack a day habit). I didn't have to quit. It was my personal choice to do it just as it is other smokers choice to quit or continue.

  12. It seems to me that your relationship and the boundaries set for it have always been more about him than about what works for you as a couple. This man has serious issues and in my opinion character flaws. Like someone said earlier, I don't want to sound mean or to hurt you but please consider his possible motives for entering into a relationship with you in the first place. Perhaps it was because he saw no threat and felt (apparently rightfully so) that he could get away with anything. I don't think it's admirable that he came to the hospital every day while you were inpatient. That's what spouses or partners do, no brownie points earned for that. He strikes me as incredibly self absorbed and although he might love you as much as he can, he cannot love you very much. You deserve so much more than this. Please see that and accept nothing less. Our time on this earth is short. When your time is coming to an end will you be content in the knowledge that you shared your life with someone that loved you and was devoted to you or will you wish you had just one more day to feel the pain that he inflicts on you?
