For those who have had surgery already, do you ever get heartburn now? I was getting it maybe twice a week before the egd, then he put me on prilosec daily, no more heartburn...

Hi Regner, I am also pre-op. My surgery is on June 26. If you are new here, there are tons of threads and forums and I have bonded with several people already....have fun with it, some of the people are funny and sarcastic, but everyone is here to share and help! Only you can decide if it is the right decision for you but for me I have no doubts. I have researched it for a long time and most things and people are very positive. There will always be that one exception....but if you have had 3 children, this will be a cinch!! :-) Good luck...see you on the boards!-Brenda

I am going to have hiatal hernia repair along with my sleeve, and they will remove my gall bladder all at the same time on the 26th

Awesome.good luck to you too! I have to start my semi-liquid diet on the 12tb or prior if I want to...by "semi" she meant and stressed I should eat one healthy low fat meal per day and use shakes and liquids for the other meals but if they don't hold off the hunger enough I can add a Protein bat here and there too....not too bad, I can handle that!!!

I finally got the call this morning, my surgery is June 26!!!!

Are they requiring you to lose weight during this pre approval period? Many doctors and insurance do require it but mine told me just the opposite....they said don't lose more than a couple pounds before approval or I might not get approved...isn't that crazy? I was finally approved but have not gotten my date yet. Just be sure you follow their directions exactly and get enough proteins and Water.....from everything I have read on these threads, if you don't get enough of both, you won't lose weight....its like your body thinks it is going to starve so it stores everything it gets, instead of only using what it really needs. Kami, I am so happy for you that you are able to get the band removal AND sleeve in the same day!! No second surgery or insurance woes, yay for you!!!!
