Biggest regrets about getting the sleeve?

At my 3 week check up my Dr said I can take tablets that are smaller than the size of a pencil tip eraser....so I can take my iron tabs and my synthroid (broken in half).

    Autoimmune Issues and VSG?

I saw my rheumy today, almost 4 weeks post op.....I stopped my methotrexate (8 tabs weekly) and enbrel about 2 weeks prior and restarted the enbrel (only) when my incisions healed, about 2 weeks after surgery. The rheum told me today she will switch me to methotrexate injections equivalent to 4 tabs per week....then may back NE off it completely i seem to be going into remission......so far so good as far add rheum pain post op too,!

    June sleevers?

Hi, I was sleeved 6/26. Start weight 330, surgery weight 322. Current weight 298!! Down 32# total and loving my sleeve!! UNDER 300 now!!! First time in many years!!! Got a new haircut yesterday that I love, and got new clothes.....shirts are now 1X or 18/20 instead of 3X or 22/24! pants were 26 or 28, now 24! Top half is shrinking faster than the bottom half but that is ok! I have lost inches all over too!!! 3 week check up went very well! Got clearance to swim, do low impact or Water aerobics, and elliptical....but have to wait a few more weeks on my bicycle, dancing, weight lifting due to internal healing! Its a great day in Tampa Bay!!!

    June surgery dates

Aline, with 1 scrambled egg, I only add about 1/4 to 1/2 scoop, a dash of milk and whisk it before cooking....too much powder and it becomes gritty...I have wasted a lot of food experimenting, LOL. how are you doing otherwise??

    Hey June 25 Sleevers

I was sleeved 6/26, and am down 18 pounds from surgery date, (that does not include the 11 pounds water weight I gained in the hospital and lost shortly thereafter). Lost 8 pounds on pre op diet, so total down 26 pounds!! I have done very well overall, and am feeling better already. I took the full 6 weeks off just to focus on me and my new lifestyle. I attended my first support group tonight, not what I expected so I plan to attend one at a different hospital on Thursday night. I will have my first follow up with my surgeon on Friday and should get the ok to swim and workout more than just walking and stationary bike. Good luck to everyone!!!

I Want To See Before & After Pics!

That is awesome!!! Congrats!!! I have a few questions if you don't mind.... How tall are you? My highest weight was 330, surgery weight 3 weeks ago was 322, current weight 304. I am 5'8 and my goal is about 160. Did you need or have you had any excess skin removal surgery? Did you end up with bat wings and rolls of skin on your thighs, and/or your stomach....those are my areas of concern....... what exercises have you been doing? I want to be as successful as possible!! Thanks!!!

    June surgery dates

I mix mine into foods when I need some extra help in getting my protein.....I have added it to homemade milkshakes with milk-yogurt-and fruit, soup, scrambled eggs, pudding, mashed potatoes.....the scoop is smaller than the chocolate and vanilla therefore it is only like 20g vs 30g of protein.....anyway, mix it in while the food is cold, cool, or room temperature.....it clumps together if added to hot foods directly, so mix it in to the lower temps, stir it good, then heat it up and it usually stays blended and clump free....good luck!!!

    anyone from florida

I live in Tampa and was planning to use Dr Deitrich, but my insurance said I had to use Dr Murr or Dr Gonzalvo at Tampa General....I was sleeved on 6/26 by Dr Gonzalvo....as with any surgery there might be little rough patches during recovery, low energy, a little pain.......even with that, I love my sleeve. I Have lost 18# post op, 26# with my pre op diet!! The only regret is that I waited so long to decide to have it done.
