8 days out and the smell of food tortures me!
jtower97 replied to Reigo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
8 days post op and I am at the beach for a quick (pre planned and paid for before surgery was scheduled) weekend trip. Vacation time used to be a no holds barred let's see how much I can eat type of thing. Went to Pi-zerria tonight and they ate while I sipped a protein shake. It wasn't too bad. I just kept thinking of how good I will look when we come back next year! Pizza is one of my favs and it did smell soooo yummy! Everyone saying how stuffed they are uncomfortable, but I feel great! -
My tummy is aching funny...
jtower97 replied to prettychica13's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I burp a lot more than I used to. 8 days post op so I have not had any food like that yet, but my stomach has made one or two funny sounds. Pretty sure it's very normal -

I had my sleeve done one week ago today. I did fine! Good luck! Walk around the hospital as soon as you feel up to it, it really does help. -
Recovery: C-section vs sleeve
jtower97 replied to GirlOnFire's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had 2 csections as well. My last one was 9 years ago. I think the sleeve is a little worse, but that may be because I am 9 years older -
Anyone feel amazing post op?
jtower97 replied to JessicaAnn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sleeved on Wednesday the 29th. I feel great, just a little sore. No nausea, no throwing up, nothing. Been off pain meds for a while. Been walking, shopping, doing laundry, dishes, etc. Keep moving; I think that is the key! good luck! -
Any suggestions on an app to track protein/water intake? Thanks! 4 days post op and want to be sure I'm getting everything in

May 2013 Sleevers!
jtower97 replied to boomarienewme's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sleeved on Wednesday the 29th, taking it one day at a time. Trying to get my liquids in but it is very difficult. I do not have any desire to eat or drink anything, except sugar free Popsicles; they have been a lifesaver! -
On my way to the hospital now! Excited! I can't wait to be a loser!

Getting sleeved on Wednesday the 29th! I'm excited and can't wait to start my new life. I am a little anxious though, but I know it will be all worth it.

You guys can do it! I'm on day 6 today. I know it sounds hard to believe, I snickered when I read other people say this, but after day 1 it really does get easier. I am allowed 3-5 protein shakes a day, that's it. I was nervous about that and wondered how in the world I would do that! But you have to think of the end result! It's all mental! Put your mind to it and you can do it!

Im struggling preop diet
jtower97 replied to BodyBattle's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
On day 4 of my protein shake only pre op diet. I'm doing well; better than I thought I would. Each time I think about how hard this is, or I get a little grouchy because I love food and I want to eat, I look at a picture of myself I don't like to remind myself why I am doing this. It has helped me a lot! I have had a lot more head hunger than actual hunger and it does get easier as the days go on. -

Hey everybody! I have UHC. My coordinator should have submitted everything yesterday. I emailed her and asked if she did, no answser back yet. So I am in limbo I guess. I didn't think about calling UHC and seeing if they have it. I will have to give it a try! -
I am new to the forum, so first of all, hello to all. I have done all of my required pre-surgery appointments. So now it is a waiting game to get approval from my insurance company, UHC. WIsh me luck!

Thanks everyone. I just heard from my coordinator and she said because I don't have 5 CONSECUTIVE years of weight history, it is not looking too good for me. She said UHC is picky about having the years being consecutive. I have as far back as '03 but don't have consecutive years
