Lightweights in the house! Any more people with less to lose/less BMI's?
That's my exact situation! Everyone tells me the same thing, but I respond with, "If I could have lost it, I would have done it within the past 10 years!!! I have 80 pounds to lose, and I get sleeved June 18th...can't wait!

how to reset your metabolism with excersize and food?
Yes, I splurged on mine too. I actually got mine for $2k--on sale! But it was worth every penny. It's quiet, many different options and programs, many different levels of resistance and incline, fits in a corner, out of the way, and I use it for my morning and evening workouts (45-50 minutes). I've lost a good amount of weight on it and I have begun to tone up my thighs. No regrets with my purchase.

Me too! I love my elliptical. Treadmills hurt my knees with the pounding, but my elliptical is smooth with good resistance and incline. Burn baby burn!

I start pre-op on the 3rd too! Yes! I'm an over achiever too! I started shakes in the AM. Monday I'll start shakes in the AM and PM. Then on the third I'll transition to full liquids.

You look great! I know plastics is definitely in my future. Someone mentioned a good doc in Monterrey. Where in Mexico did you go? And, if you don't mind, how much?

Sleeved May 15 and Regretting it
You are NOT STUPID! You made a choice to lead a healthier lifestyle...to elongate your life! Don't let ANYONE make you feel that way! I'm not sleeved, but I am on this forum everyday, I go to support groups every week, and my doctor is very one-on-one with his patients. I've learned that these feelings of regret are very, VERY normal! It's such a HUGE adjustment to your lifestyle and the eating habits you've ALWAYS known. One day you will be able to eat those things you love, but only in moderation, never in the oversized portions that we serve ourselves, or that gets served to us at restaurants. This stage will pass. You will have moments of regret and a sense of loss. Allow yourself your human emotion, cry if you must for a little while, but then you need to put your big girl panties on and wipe them away. You will not do yourself any good dwelling on the should'a, could'a, would'as. Focus on your goals, focus on your post-op diet, and before you know it you will be able to eat the things you like. The additional plus is, you'll be a thinner, healthier you when you get there. Good luck to you!!

Im ticked- husband losing faster
I pretty much went through the exact same thing with my husband, and I responded to him exactly like you did. However, he is now on board without making comments or being negative. I'm even preparing him for when I go and get plastic surgery in a year or two. I get sleeved on June 18th, so hopefully all goes well. He too decided to lose weight and has dropped what I've lost in a 4 month period, in only one month! Ughhhh! Drives me nuts!

Im ticked- husband losing faster
Men. They build muscle faster. They are naturally leaner. They are not as susceptible to our estrogen fueled emotional fits. They don't have periods and deal with constant monthly re-wiring of their hormones. They don't bare children or have to deal with the body and skin deformations that come with child bearing. And to top it off, they seem to drop weight 10x faster than us. Ya. It pisses me off too. It is what is. Sometimes we have to vent about it, but then we have to accept it, push harder, worker harder, and kick a$$ in the end!

I suck...
My bad! Lol! Yes, it's tough, but I think you're doing a great job. Some people don't even have a pre-op diet and they come out fine. I'm not saying not to follow your doctor's instructions or to br carefree, I'm just saying that I agree with you...you're being a little to hard on yourself. Acknowledge the mistake, get back on and continue. If you fall off again, correct it again. You're going to be fine!

I suck...
You don't suck. You're human and like many of us here, we are here because we have a problem with food. Liz is right, try your best, fight as much as you can, if you fall off the bandwagon, dust yourself off and get back on. You can do this!

how to reset your metabolism with excersize and food?
I know you all are experienced with the sleeve and I'm not ( not until June 18th anyway--sorry, i'm excited because I got my date!), but I've been experimenting with unflavored Proteins and adding them into my Soups, homemade sugar free Popsicles, Jello, drinks, etc...wondering if this would be an option for those of you struggling to get your Protien in...to add it into the existing food and drinks you're consuming to obtain those extra grams? I'm also aware that too much Protien hinders absorption, or rather that your body will only absorb about 30 grams at a time, but...it's just an idea. I guess I'm brainstorming for my future consumption as well. Not sure what's going to work. If you have yet to try the unflavored proteins, I like GNC's unflavored whey. I cant really taste any difference at all, just a slight thickening to the texture; and I just ordered Muscle Feasts unflavored Premium Protein Blend (this one interested me because it contains 1/3 Pure micellar casein, 1/3 hydrolized whey and 1/3 whey isolate). Reviews on different sites and forums rave about this product. If your interested ill let you know how this one goes (shipped today, so I'll have it soon).

I finally got my date as well!!!! June 18th! Super excited, can't wait, hope-the-time-will-pass-fast!!!

Soon to be sleeved
This site is wonderful...it is informative and what is great is that the information comes from people whom have EXPERIENCED it all and whom are willing to share it all. So, welcome! I've been experimenting with different shakes that have been recommended on this site and I'm not liking any of them too much. I like muscle milk light (chocolate) the best (which is an RTD, or Ready to Drink). GNC has an unflavored whey Protien that you can add to any liquid or food item that blends well, and I love it because you don't taste ANYTHING. I just ordered Muscle Feasts unfflavored Premium Blend that seems really awesome with great reviews and 3 1/3 part mixture of casein, hydrolized whey, and whey isolate. Anyway, hope this helps! Good luck with your sleeve

Led an Aerobics Class Today!
I know! I'm so excited that I have the endurance! And I think having an obligation to meet others expectations will force me to exercise even on those days when I don't feel like it. I remember having those days in the past when I taught aerobics as a job, but the obligation to be there forced me to workout, and the high kicked in during and definitely after the workout.

Led an Aerobics Class Today!
I'm pre-sleeved, but I've been working my tail off to get back into shape. Once upon a time I taught aerobics, so today I gathered some of my co-workers and friends, dusted off my old workout music, steps and mats, gathered in a friends hanger and led a 50 minute floor and step aerobic class! Plus an extra 30 minutes of resistance band toning & abs! I'm on such a high right now. We agreed to get together 3 times a week... I hope I can keep up the momentum!

What you wish you knew before the sleeve
Thanks for sharing! I really think its attitude...having a good attitude, accepting what has to be done, not dwelling on what was, and doing what you have to do. I really hope I can adjust the way you have. I've tried my best to inform myself, to mentally prepare myself, to leave little room for surprises, and to go into this with my eyes wide open. You have a remarkable story of success and I wish you continued success

Soo mad!
My pcp did the same thing. I switched to a pcp In the area that was known for having sleeved patients. I transferred my records, went and had my letter by the second visit. Maybe you should ask your surgeon's office who is the most frequently used pcp by their patients. Then call that doc, inquire, and switch. Worked for me!

12 week Transformation challenge for vets
Squat: stand shoulder with the part (in other words, your feet should be aligned with your shoulders, if not slightly wider) with your toes pointed slightly outward. "Squat" down into a standing sitting position. Your back will naturally angle itself forward, just make sure to keep it straight. Most of your weight is transferred to your heels and you should not go into a sitting position that is less than a 90 degree angle. Once you get into your standing sitting position, stand right back up and repeat 10-15 times to complete 1 set. Rest and repeat the set two more times--again, resting in between each set. Make sure to complete each squat slowly, keeping to good form. Do not use momentum so that you can utilize your muscles more. This exercise primarily works your quads (front of your thighs) and your gluteus (your arse!); secondary, your hamstrings (back of your thighs). To tighten your arse muscles a little bit more, give them a good squeeze when you rise back up into your original standing position (this might be a horrible analogy, but what the heck: pretend that you have a $1 million dollars bill between your cheeks and you have to squeeze them real tight so that you won't lose it!). If you google "how to do a squat" you will find plenty of images and videos to help you. Lunge: start in a standing position with both feet together. Then step forward and drop your knee (the one that did not step forward) towards the ground (without your knee touching the ground). The knee that steped forward should be bent at a 90 degree angle (do NOT allow your knee to surpass your toes! Bad for knee/joint health). Stand back into your original standing position and repeat movement with the other leg. This works out the same muscles as the squat. To target you abductors and adductors (inner and outer thighs), then step out in an outward angle. Google "how to do a lounge" for a better visual. Hope this helps!
