Oh my gosh! Woo hoo ! I am finally logged on!! Hi again everyone and a very warm welcome to the newbies- I have been trying and trying to log on for ages. Reading all the posts has been great but sooo frustrating not to be able to reply. I hope this works on my phone which is what I usually use....
Last time I posted I was so hungry, craving carbohydrates mainly, lots of head hunger, and couldn't work out why. Then I got my TOM for the first time in four months since the surgery. Suddenly I just couldn't fit *anything* into my sleeve for a few days. Go figure.
Now 30kg down and fitting into regular size 16-18 depending on the store. This is my surgical goal but I am still slowly losing and I have until January until the magical six month rapid weight loss window closes. I just cannot believe that I can walk into a regular size shop and try on things that fit me. More unbelievable is how much cheaper the clothing is (obviously not shopping for designer stuff yet - Lol). My arthritis continues but I know that if I had not had the sleeve I would be walking now with a stick. No knee pain now and my foot pain no longer makes me cry Love my sleeve and missed chatting with you guys.

I have been eating about 1000 calories a day most of this holiday. But I'm not able to even break even when I count my running and how much walking we have been doing. I swear I have dropped another size in the time we have been gone (3 weeks). Still 5 days to go but there will be less walking. It's funny though. When there is less exercise I am a lot less hungry and eat a lot less.

I do get hunger but it takes very little to satisfy it, whereas in the past I would have eaten more. Sometimes it is difficult to determine if it's real hunger or head hunger.

Hi Liss.Sorry you are having such a ghastly time I have had this after gastro before I had the sleeve.Sometimes a gastro can strip your bowel of its normal bacteria and leave your gut inflamed and unable to absorb properly.Lactose can be a short term issue for some.Probiotics like inner health plus tabs or low fat yoghurt can be a big help.Pureed apple, broth (too hot in the weather for you tho?) and white rice are good. Keep up your fluids especially electrolytes as you will be dehydrating.
"Gastrostop" from the chemist is great to halt the diarrhoea for a day or so - I find it really good to stop the cramps after eating as well - but you will need to see your GP if you need to keep taking it.
I hope this helps Liss and that you feel much better soon.

Yep.Happened to me as well on fluids-took a good week for any action and then another week before any bm routine.Keep up the benefibre.Try 2tspns in the morning and 2tspns in the afternoon.Puree stage will definitely help (as will movicol).I still use benefibre on my porridge 10 weeks out if needed.Good luck
(Edited to add postscript) P.S: forgot to suggest prune juice in Fluid stage.

One thing I've noticed is that I was invisible when I was obese. People just wouldn't look you in the eye or even look at you. Now I'll be standing at a crossing in the city and people will just smile at me for no reason. Before I wouldn't even get acknowledged. I still find it strange.

I have been offered a new job on the Gold Coast starting early December. I will tell you all about it when I see some of you on the Gold Coast for our catch up on 5 October. Needless to say I doubt I would have been approached or been offered the job if I had not lost my weight! Excited but happy about this new chapter. It's a 12 month contract so I plan to rent a one bedroom furnished apartment to say in during the the week instead on commuting from Brisbane every day.

Thank you all so much for your well wishes! I had a rough night last night to be honest but was just needing to get the pain and nausea under control and all was well. Though I had to fight to not use a pan to pee in! I couldn't do it lol so I just nagged at the male nurses (lucky me lol) to let me go to the bathroom and one finally caved!
So today I have been up and about and sipping Water and broth - slowly but surely.
Again thank you for all the support its so great to know people are thinking of you! Xo
