Thanks everyone! We are back in the US. The trip was trouble-free. We fly home tomorrow morning. It'll be great to be home in our own bed.
Dr Alvarez and his staff were fantastic. Most of the nurses didn't speak English; however, it seemed there was always someone available if we needed something. Rosie, the hospital van driver was great. Lots of funny stories & she made the trip enjoyable.

Ebensburg PA sleever here. We were sleeved yesterday in Mexico.

Wow, sorry to hear this. Definitely not the outcome you'd planned for I'm sure. Hang in there, get some healing time in and come back. I'll be thinking about you.

Today's the day have my surgery set for 7:30am it's now 4 am. Not feeling nervous but eager and excited. My colleagues at work were great so supportive when I left I look forward to getting back and showing off after my surgery. A colleague who had the sleeve recommended I take a month off so I have October to recover and can take my time adjusting to my new life.Good luck today. You'll do great. We had ours yesterday here in Mexico. Virtually pain free. I even slept on my left side where the big trocar port is. No gas pain either which was my big fear. When I had my gallbladder out, the gas pains were excruciating and worse than the surgery pain ever was.
Keep us updated. We are all cheering for you.

Made it to San Antonio. We're checked in at the hotel. Best part of the trip so far...getting off the hotel shuttle, hubs stood up and his jean shorts fell to his knees. Bahaha. Guess the pre-op diet is really working.

Can't believe it's finally here. I remember when I made the countdown ticket on my phone. It was 94 days. I'm sitting at work drinking my lunch. In 2.5 hours I will head home to pack up the car.
We are driving to Columbus Ohio tonight to meet up with my mom and then we are flying out tomorrow morning. Woo hoo!!
The hubs and I are both getting surgery Monday. Very much looking forward to being on the other side.

Glad to see they use the exact same products we use at the hospitals I've worked in.

just made this tonight while my family ate my homemade real pizza..honestly they tasted the same..the crust was like a thin crust pizza..I even spread some hummus on the crust by itself and it was really really good!! The key is to be sure to bake it at 450 for 20 to 25 minutes....recipe. 1 head cauliflower cooked until soft...put in food processor add garlic and onion powder..or fresh...mix in 2 eggs and 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese...spray baking dish of choice...layer should only be 1/2 inch thick..so depending on the size of pan you may end up making several pizzas..I made 4 with 1 head of cauliflower...after its cooked and browned on top..top with your fav pizza toppings and bake until cheese is melted on top....slice up like a pizza and enjoy...let me know if u try it and if u like
Can't wait to try it. Looks so good.

Im Sept 30th . so excited!!!!!We are too. Where are you having surgery?

BAM! That is the truth! No one will take care of you in health care. You have to do it for yourself. People wonder where nursing attitudes sometimes come from...my gosh' date=' we have to develop that kind of attitude just to survive in this racket! Take care of YOU.[/quote']
That's the truth!!

Officially sleeved can hardly wait to see what my future holds!Congrats and happy losing!!! Best of luck to you

In the past, we have spent so much time think about food, preparing food, driving to get food, & just eating food. Now that we are on this journey (still pre-op in the liquid diet phase) it seems we have lots more free time. How is everyone spending this extra time? What are you doing now with the time that used to be occupied with food?
