Haha yeah I'm less than a month away I'm freaking out too! We just have to think about the long term though. It's a small time to be sore and a lifetime of being healthier. We'll get through it and be healthy and smokin' hot in no time!!!

I really think everyone should stay over night. I mean no matter how it's done it is a major operation. Plus what if you get sick or something. I think one night probably two is the best for anyone just my opinion though

I do think that's odd. I'm staying two nights since I'm out of town but as far as I know no matter what every one has to stay at least one night.

I feel your pain. Last year I was a week into my pre-op diet a week away from surgery when a storm came through and did a bunch of damage to our house. I was self pay at the time so I had to back out so we could afford the repairs. Then when I thought I was back on track and ready to schedule my consult, my Mom was diagnosed with cancer and needed financial help. She's on track with chemo and finances, so now I'm waiting for the 13th of October through insurance. You'll get there soon enough! Hope you feel better here soon. Good luck with your surgery.

I live in Arkansas and also chose to make the trip to Dallas and use Dr Nic. 7 months out and down 94 pounds!! I can't wait to have surgery with him! Right now I'm having to wait until my husband has time off so I can have the EGD which isn't until September

I went to a doctor in Edmond and wasn't pleased so I started looking around and found Dr. Nicholson in Dallas and just really liked him and his staff so I figured it was worth the drive. We'll see if I feel that way when I'm heading home after the surgery!

I just got approved for Gastric Sleeve (YAY!) While waiting for scheduling and all that fun stuff I had my CPAP memory card tested and found out I'm still having apneas! I'm very worried about this for many reasons one being is this going to affect when I can have my surgery? I'm hoping to have it the beginning of August, I'm obviously going to talk to my doctor about this but I'm just curious if anyone has had this problem before and what happened?? Also I'm waiting on my family doctor to send the request to up my pressure it just seems like it takes forever!

I have a PR System one REMstar. I finally got into the clinical menu and was able to adjust it (YAY) I wasn't holding it down long enough before I believe. My original pressure was 12 so I bumped it up a few. How much do you usually adjust yours by? Thank you so much for all your help

I wish they would give me one that automatically adjusted instead I have to bring in my memory card and I was sure I was having apneas but you know how that can be sometimes. I'm still learning about my cpap settings and all that. My pressure is set to 12 I tried to adjust it using the info I found on google for my machine but it didn't do anything. Is it possible there's a block on it? I get my machine from lincare so I don't know if that changes it?? I agree I hate having sleep apnea, this has been the worst thing I've ever had. My primary doctor wants to have my tonsils out but I can't get an ENT to do it. After I start losing if I still have it I'm going to really get bad about getting tonsils out and hope that helps. It sucks! Also Thanks for all your help, I talked to the nurse today and she said as long as I had the pressure adjusted don't worry about it. Thanks for calming my nerves!!

I was trying to talk myself into "just a bite" of steak. Last night and today have been really hard. TMI but Aunt Flow is coming to town So the cravings have set in and I have NO energy at all!!!! And I have a birthday party to go to Saturday! I'm stepping out when it comes time for the cake. Less than 2 weeks and we'll be sleeved. For whatever reason though I am making myself sick worrying that I'll wake up with no sleeve. I've been doing great on my diet but in the back of my head I'm just thinking "What if 2 weeks isn't enough?" Anyone else having this fear or am I letting my anxiety take control?

I don't know about the waiter thing. I hope that wouldn't be an issue! I do know that walmart has the gas strips. You can buy them online if you can't find them in store.

I've started mine. I HATE the bariatric advantage shakes!!! One drink of that and it almost came back up! I LOVE the Atkins Shakes. I've been having broth I have to have it out of a spoon. For whatever reason drinking broth always grosses me out Of course feeding my son makes me want to take a huge bite out of the chicken but I'm managing! I hope we all do great and shrink our livers and ourselves! I can't believe how quick it's coming I'm having mine on June 4th and it's really starting to hit me.

Hello, I'm babybearmum. I have a 2 yr old son. I'm 28 and have been married for 3 years. My husband is super supportive. I'm so thankful for that. I've been looking into the sleeve for several years and after being diagnosed with sleep apnea I was ready to take this step.
