  1. I just started following this topic!! I was sleeved 4/18/13 and started weight at 320 and now I am at 268!! 52 Pounds!! My stall was around 4 weeks and lasted about 10 days, I just had to eat more and increase my exercise and it started coming off again. Great to hear from all of my fellow April Sleevers!!

    Sushi!

I have had Sashimi and love it. I am almost 4 weeks post op and can puree the sashimi before swallowing. I can only eat about 4 pieces after having some of the miso soup. But I take the rest home and eat the other 4 pieces about4 hours later.
  3. I lost 18 pounds during my pre-op diet. But they surgeon set a goal for me to get to, or he said he may not do the surgery. I was walking and walking and walking along with my liquid diet. I am have lost 20 pounds since my surgery 10 days ago and 38 all together, Seeing the scales today was very inspirational (first time I had been on the scale since being sleeved.)
  4. vlb4VOLS, I use Dymatize ISO-100 Protein powder shake. It has the most protein per scoop and it really tastes great. It does NOT have many calories though..only 105 calories per 25 grams of protein. But, best of all it mixes great and tastes awesome. They have lots of flavors online and in most stores. I am 10 days out and am only getting about 600-800 calories per day and getting 80 grams of protein per day. I am starting to experiment with pureed foods. I am good with most of them and they have all agreed. I did try to chew up a bite of my wifes egg yesterday and chewed till it was applesauce, but that did not work. First time anything came back up. Stepped on the scale for the first time since surgery at 10 days. I was 308 at surgery and now I am at 285. (23 pounds in 10 days) Wooo hoooo! I have been walking a mile + every day which I am sure has helped. Stephen

    Post Op abdominal bruising

Sorry for the delay in posting the results of my doctors visit. My surgeon was very calm and did a lot of checking m abdomen prior to saying anything. He let me know that there was no hardening of the blood below my skin and that I really had nothing to worry about. If it got any larger then he wanted me to come back. Although this does not happen all the time, it is not rare. He let me know that the Heprin injections for blood clots are the probable reason that this happened. I was injected 2 times in the stomach with Heprin while in the hospital. Soo, it looks nasty but it is not something that is serious. I was very happy for the news and am ready to get back to focusing on getting my fluids in and healing! Just wanted to pass this on and thank EVERYONE for the concern and words of encouragement. This is a great forum and place for sleevers to be with friends. Stephen

    Post Op abdominal bruising

I did have a nurse that gave me 2 of my hepren shots in my arm and then 2 in my stomach. My major concern is that its gotten so much worse days after I have left the hospital.

    Post Op abdominal bruising

I will post the outcome of my visit with the surgeon, just after noon.
  8. I am 5 days post op and I have some serious bruising on my abdomen. It started as a 5 inch diameter the day I was discharged and was told it was normal, 2 days at home it was getting larger so I called the surgeon and the hospital. Was told that it was normal and asked about lifting, straining or other activity. I have not done any of the above, especially after seeing this bruising. I have a meeting with the surgeon in a couple of hours and hopefully he will tell me what I need to do. Just wanted to see if this is common or if my case is isolated. Someone told me that the blood clotting medicine can cause this, but if its not common, why me??? I am attaching a photo of my stomach that I took this morning.

    Getting water AND protein

I have been using the New Whey Liquid Protein, 42 grams of protein in 3.8 ounces. Found at wal-mart. I pour almost one ounce of New Whey and almost one ounce of water every 15 minutes till the protein is gone. then I go back to focusing on water or decaf tea, I have done this 2 times in a day and you have plenty of protein and not filling yourself up. I am only 4 days post op and it seems to be working Stephen

    Tomorrow!

CoreyCan and everyone that has posted their support, Everything went pretty well. I was in a lot of pain and once they stopped the IV Pain killer it was not long before I needed some of the liquid pain meds. I am home now and have some pain, moistly from gas and just keep walking so that it will go away. Problem is that I have gained 12 pounds while in the hospital. I went in at 301 and got out at 313, I am sure its all water weight from th IV but ist a little discouraging. I know that its temporary though. I have a great suppor system and i am sure the weight will fall off as I start as the water comes off and even more whenI get to excersising. Stephen
