  1. I had a really fun day today. My sister was down here from OR (in San Diego for a hospital conference), so they drove over last night and I got to spend her 60th birthday with her today. We went to a street fair and shopped for about 3 hours, then we drove over to Palm Springs & went up the Aerial Tram and had dinner up there. It was great fun. Had a nice dinner of grilled scallops, had a little garlic mashed potatoes, nixed the bread, had a glass of wine (bad) and one bread stick.. the hard, pretzel type. I think I did pretty good all day except for that one glass of wine... way bigger than what I usually have. It was snowing hard up there by the time we came down. And pouring down rain here now! So much rain this winter!! The desert is turning green!
  2. You look FABULOUS!!! What a difference!!! Look at those shapely hips!! :hurray::cursing::hurray: Is there a comma after the "wink, wink, nudge, nudge" and before the coffee???:coffee: Do we get exercise credit for that kind of activity???:redface::mad::redface::redface::redface::redface::redface::redface::redface::redface: That is a GREAT idea!! Don't know of one, but maybe someone will come up with something! They do that at the Seattle Bash, I know. I still might get to fly home and go to that. Sounds like great fun.
  3. Alone, definitely alone!! LOL!
  4. I'm here!!! Cheez!! You're three days ahead of me on exercise now!! You're really cruisin' on that treadmill!! And, I missed yesterday because of our little trip to Quartzsite. I did get in a little more walking than I planned on!! My scooter batteries died after only THREE HOURS of shopping!! So we found a place to eat and DH took it in and plugged it into the wall. (Didn't ask permission, but they didn't even seem to notice it was plugged in!!) Then we went back to the swap meets but it quit again after only 15 more minutes!! But AZ time it was going on 5pm by then and everything was closing up anyway. But both times, when the batteries quit, I had to walk quite a ways to get to the car!! Forced exercise! Knee hurt after the 2nd time. But I'm tough! I've been doing a little research on the internet. Doc that you told me about...looks like he is primarilly plastic surgeon and possibly not board certified for WLS, so might not be a good idea. I'd be a little nervous about going to him. But there is one in Riverside and he is even "Center of Excellene" (Medicare requirement), so I sent them an email. BUT, I found out I can get a round trip ticket Palm Springs-Seattle, for 1/3 the cost of what your doc wants to give me a fill! So I might fly up there for about 5 days and time it so I can go the the Seattle Splash Bandster Bash!! Have to call Monday and see how flexible they are about giving me an appt with my doctor. Their "rules" are 1st & 3rd Mondays! I want to fly up on a Tues or Wed & come back on Sunday! If I can't work anything out, I'll just have to bite the bullet until I can get home in April!!
  5. Oh, yeah... you're in WISCONSIN!! I remember now!! So sorry!! C'mon down!!
  6. Watch those drugs!!! LOL Sounds like you are doing GREAT for one day post-op!! You may feel a little rugged tomorrow, but it will only get better from here on!! Take care! We'll be waiting to hear more as you journey with us towards that "LEAN MEAN GRANDMA" place!!
  7. I'll tell you what....now understand, I'm NOT complaining, BUT, this is the coolest, wettest winter we've had down here yet!! But we're still in the pool every morning, so you know it's not THAT BAD!! I wish I could send you a little bit of sunshine!! I do LOVE it down here!! I've been trying to talk my DH into buying something more permanent, like a park model or mobile home, for several years, but he's not about to do that!! So our condo in WA will sit empty until it's warm enough to go home!! That could be August!! LOL Where did you say you are... I forgot???? My condolences!!!
  8. Kathy, So sorry to hear about your Dad. That's such a difficult thing to go through even when you have the Peace that comes with knowing he's gone to a better place and that he is free of any suffering. Headaches.... I've been troubled with intermittent "travelling" headache for the last couple of weeks... been mostly in one spot on the left, today it moved around to the right! Not bad, just persistent annoying ache. Weigh in today... depressing... 6/10 of a lb last week, only 2/10 lb this week! Think I will call Janet's doc and see if I can get a fill. Was going to wait until we get home in April, but not a good idea. Can't stand this slow agonizing pace!! 2.8 lb so far this whole month!! And it's making me grumpy! Supposed to go to Quartzsite tomorrow and check out the big RV show, swap meets, etc. but it's so cold and miserable and now it's raining. Wonder if it's raining over there, too. Neighbor's network has been down for two days so I just got back online late this afternoon! Another thing to be grumpy about! He has me on his network, so when he goes down, I'm out of commission, too! They're only allowed so many MB per day and when it's exceeded they get cut off. Last time it was my fault, this time they did it! At any rate, I MISSED my bandster buddies!!!
  9. :rolleyes2: I completely understand your treadmill issue!! I have the same problem in the locker room at the pool. Ladies just don't seem to understand which shower is mine! Get real! I use it at the same time EVERY day! There's no excuse for someone else to be in it when it's MY TIME!!
  10. check out the new thread for 60+, too.
  11. Thanks, Peaches! I appreciate the encouragement from ALL of you Lucky#7's! We're ALL doing great!!
  12. So sorry to hear of your struggles, Cherea. Hope things start looking up for you soon. God is FAITHFUL! Sometimes we have to walk through some hard things. I'll be praying for you! We've missed you around here.
  13. YOUNGER!! I like that! I noticed that, too! Thanks! Hi, Nina! I loaded my pictures on Photobucket. Under "Effects" on their site, you can resize them... They have pixel limits here, so if you exceed the limits, photos won't upload. Also, the little insert photo icon is not always up there in the menu! So then you have to go down below to Additional Options and then Manage Attachments to upload your picture. Hope that helps. HaHa!! After watching that Green Bay game yesterday I see why you want to get out of there!! We're in Desert Hot Springs CA in our RV... we have a pull out couch you can sleep on!! LOL Thanks! Sorry you can't make it to Quartzsite Thursday. Would've enjoyed meeting you. Yes, maybe another time. Hope the weather is decent Thursday! It's so windy today. I better not say it's "chilly".... 58 degrees!! Sounds tropical to some of you, I know!!! Don, yes... PATIENCE, PATIENTS!! The government never does anything fast! Hope something starts happening for you soon. Yes, trying to get all the 60+ people over to this new site so we can all hang out together instead of scattered around. We all have similar "issues".
  14. Well, I was going to post my pictures! What happened to the little icon that lets you insert a photo?? No longer there?!
  15. Thanks, Sue. I think I'll post my before & current picture. By the way, did you get to watch the Seahawks/Packers massacre on the ship?? If not, just as well. It was sad! They just couldn't contend with Brett and the snow!
  16. Thanks! I appreciate all the kudos!!
  17. Welcome home!! Great news on the weight! You did good! My 6 month "bandiversary" today!
  18. I LOVED my carbonated drinks prior to surgery. I had 1-2 Diet Cokes a day and we have our own carbonator, so would carbonate water and sometimes add sugar free flavoring. I have never been a water drinker. Love my coffee, but usually 1-2 cups in the morning and that's it unless I treat myself to a Starbucks later in the day... sugar free, fat free. So I was somewhat upset when I was told at my first dietician appointment... no caffeine, no carbonated drinks. I quit the Diet Coke about 6 weeks before surgery and switched to decaf coffee. Six weeks after surgery, when I asked if I could ever have my caffeine back, the P.A. said, "who told you that you couldn't have caffeine????" I was ready to strangle someone! So I added back my morning coffee... no more decaf. But I have not had any diet coke. A couple of weeks ago, I thought, since we have our own carbonator, we can control the amount of carbonation, so maybe I could try some carbonated water with a little flavoring in it. So we made a jug, but I found I was very intimidated about drinking it. I was so afraid to drink it that my fluid intake took a nose dive. So we haven't mixed any more. I really don't miss it and I drink crystal lite all day long! AFTER my morning coffee, that is!
  19. That cartoon is TOOOO much, Sunshine!!! Funny!! I may have to borrow that!! Maybe we can get some of these "oldies" over to the 60+ thread???
  20. Thanks. I can see a difference now! Feeling good and DH is getting downright frisky! TMI.... sorry!
  21. Thanks, Janet!! I do see a difference.
  22. I'm not sure the 60+ folks are finding this thread. I started a new one called New 60+ Thread or something like that.
  23. I just started a new thread under the 60's threads called New 60+ Thread. Maybe that will get folks over to that one??!
  24. Let's see if we can get everyone to move over to this new 60+ thread! I'm celebrating today.... my 6 month bandiversary!
  25. Today is my 6 month bandiversary!!
